About the random civ button: If BOTH player select the option then it will go random, but if you select the option and pick random civ but your opponent doesn't check the random option then he will have picked civ but you will be stuck with a random pick. But if you pick, let's say Spanish, and select the random civ option, and the other player also does that then you will get a random civ, not the picked civ. Hope I have explainedit well :D
So, basically: if you both check the option, you'll get a random civ (no matter what civ you selected), if one of you doesn't check the option, you both get the civ you selected. So, you could select Koreans (I know you love them T90) and check the option, so that you get to play random if the other player goes random as well, but if they don't go random and instead pick Cumans then you still have your trusted tower civ. Did I get this correct? I only play HD (why do I even watch this video, lol) so I can't check.

"Fixed an issue which prevented players from creating another lobby after hosting a multiplayer match." Happened to me every time. Good fix (haven't tried yet).
Yeah, it's happened to me a lot as well. Playing on LAN, we had one match, finished it, went for another and realized we need to restart AoE completely (both!). If I haven't restarted, I couldn't create a lobby. And if my buddy hasn't restarted, he couldn't join my newly created game (after my restart). Hence the need for both clients to restart. Hope they crushed this one.
What about that Alt+Right click thing? How does that work? Does it meen that if I select my halbs and Alt+Right click on enemy knights, they will focus that unit type only? Same for skirms etc.?
This patch is full of bugs. The ones I've found: 1. If you send a military unit to a certain place to attack an enemy military unit... if that enemy military unit dies before you get there... the military unit you sent will stop moving and not go to the geographical area the enemy military unit was standing at. This makes it very difficult to get military units to a battle since you send them to battle by clicking them to attack an enemy at a battle. If you're already in battle with other military units... if your military units kill the military unit you sent the other battalion to attack... then they won't get to battle and stay standing like idiots in the middle of the field. 2. When sending military units to certain geographical points, they will sometimes stay in the running position as if they're on their way but they are actually not moving and stay in one place until you give them the instruction again. 3. Villagers get confused while at the mill over where to drop or pickup food from and to. They will dance for ages without doing any real work. 4. Military units don't act properly when attacking. During a Dark Age Drush your military units will push each other when sent in group to attack a villager and will only be pushing each other while following the enemy villager instead of attacking the villager one by one. 5. I won't even get started with the Failed Connection while searching for games at Ranked. Too many of those these days. At almost every moment of the process of the Ranked Menu. 6. Lag spikes every 30seconds during game play. 7. When my game lags... nothing moves and then all of a sudden vils and everything move really fast to catch up but you can't do anything while that's happening.
I got multiple times opponents who paused and quit (perhaps player at around my 1100 elo are more prone to petty rage and rudeness). Good that they fixed it.
Not only do i not own a copy of age of empires 2,i dont own a computer. Watching your videos has got me considering foing out to buy a computer juat to play this game
I played a couple games this morning, and the pathfinding felt TERRIBLE (I did not know at the time that there had been a pathfinding update). One example: I clicked three trebs back at one point and they moved three tiles forward, got destroyed by onagers. Three tiles. Another: I patrolled five full-health scouts about four or five tiles forward into archers, and they stacked into a column and quit moving. There were five archers and I lost two scouts before they actually engaged the archers. After losing my final game, I was on tilt over how many troops I lost to pathfinding errors and quit.
These are all great updates, but I feel they are still avoiding the real issue that the trade cart carrying the French flag in the final Joan of arc mission is counted as a military unit, causing me to have to wall it in a corner so I could select my army without it to charging into longbows.
Still just 7 maps in the pool 😭 The new prioritizing option will likely even hit map diversity harder. They should rather give you the chance to add some maps that do not belong to the standard pool
What if i have prefered map arena and opponent has arabia i dont ban arabia he bans arena does that mean ? map will be arabia ? It was discused on forums what if your prefered map is somethink unusual that people tend to ban then you will play all time arabia with few exceptions... One of viable solutions would be : if only one player has selected prefered map and other did not or his map was baned shouldnt it be 50% on prefered map and remaining 50% would be spread acros all unbanned maps?
Yes, I don't like how this option works now. The best way to play your guaranteed map is to ban the maps that other people tend to favor, even if you like them yourselves! So e.g. if I want to play on Four Lakes, I should pick it as my favorite and ban Arabia, so that if Arabia was favorite of my opponent and he didn't ban Four Lakes, we will play Four Lakes.
I think in this case, the matching engine should look at what your banned maps are, what your preferred maps are and only match you with a player which has NOT banned your preferred map and vice versa.
Chaitanya Atre In a perfect world, yes. But unfortunately that would really prolong the wait time. You already have to wait multiple minutes to be matched in ranked. It’s gonna take even longer if they also have to take that into consideration
@@chaitanyaatre Yeah, depends on what you prioritize I guess. Personally, I would rather play an unpreferred map every now and then, but only wait 3 minutes than my preferred map every single time after a 10 minute wait. But I also know there are people that only want to play Arabia or Arena and would prefer the longer wait for this certainty
Anyone else now has the game to be halting for half a second every 10-30 seconds? Both in singleplayer and in multiplayer (tried on spectate). Switching off the internet, or lowering the resolution (PC is more than fast enough) does not help. This only came up today, with the new patch.
why is nobody talking about the fact that this update breaks the game with lag and villagers automatically walking across the map to enemy farms in your LOS?
Hmm can the prefered map for me overwrite the map ban from the oponent? Or if I pick as prefered map A, oponent picks as prefered map B, but he bans map A, we will always get map B?
Random civ option in ranked seemed not working for me. I played like 10 ranked games and got Incas 6 times. First 4 were all Incas. Then I picked full random, then got Incas again the second time I went full random. Then went mirror, Incas again. I talked to the other player in the game and turned out it was a random choice (as I guessed). I also got Tatars 2 times in a row. Wondering if anyone else experience this? I went random every time and haven't even played all the civ yet because it just doesn't let me!
10:00 hey, it was an issue, where ur game got stuck when u tried to create another lobby, if u hosted one game already in same game session. It happened to me a lot and i had to restart game so many times.
I wish that they would change villagers double click so that it only selects the type you click ie all lumberjacks so you can move lumber lines or all forigers to put them all on sheap or boar
About seeing in game chat while spectating, it is possible(likely probable) that you can spy on a friend's opponents and feed information to them which could be considered cheating. In game chat on a recorded game i dont see why that isn't possible though.
I honestly think this new System of "Preferred Map" is risky and bad for the game. It will increased the One-trick One-civ player, this new system give you at least 50% to play your map, that is too huge and there will be some abuse. It's also unfair to have to play on the other Preferred Map if you don't want to Pick one.
It gives you a higher chance when you ban popular maps. Ban the preferred map of your enemy and there is only your map left. At least that is how I understand it.
So what if i want to play the popular maps too? I don’t want to ban the popular maps just to play my map. I still consider the 50% fair, though. But that should be the max someone could get from a preferred map, not jumping to 100% if the opponent doesn’t have his preferred map. It should be equal % for each player, no matter if he chooses to spread his % across just a single map or an entire pool.
This is a terrible implementation for the preferred map system. A slightly increased chance for your preferred map would have been good, but this forces me to pick a preferred map even if I don't have one otherwise I am *always* stuck with the enemy's home map. I want to play a variety of maps - not stuck playing Arabia and Arena every game. This sucks.
I assume "create another lobby" means.. that once you host a game, finish the game, and then try to host again, you are unable to. .. not, that you could creat multiple lobbies.
Hey T90, I've been watching your videos on RUclips for a while, but have never caught a Livestream as I don't use twitch much. I was curious how people go about getting chosen for community games?
T90, I play games with my dad, and host them. I would always have to restart my game to host a second game after we finished the first because I couldn't host another.

What was happening was I would make a lobby and play with my friends, then I'd have to restart the whole game if I wanted to host or join another match. It was super weird and super annoying
As a dota 2 player aswell I like long patch videos. Thanks t90!
This is THE BEST update the game has ever had in my opinion!!! This is so so good, completely restoring my faith in the game
....still waiting for someday to be able to play 256x
"Fixed an issue which prevented players from creating another lobby after hosting a multiplayer match."
Happened to me every time.
Land Nomad FFA starring Rus_DM: Definitive Edition LET'S GOOOOOOOOOO!
Thank you! I've been hoping for you to do these vids
What about that Alt+Right click thing? How does that work? Does it meen that if I select my halbs and Alt+Right click on enemy knights, they will focus that unit type only? Same for skirms etc.?
Can’t wait to watch the inevitable crazy feitoria spawn mega random games that happen
Anyone else having problems with stuttering with the new patch? My game freezes for a second every minute or so since the update 😵
This patch is full of bugs.
The ones I've found:
With giving so many other civs more unit discounts they better re-buff the Goths lol
That melee pathing fix is fine but that still doesn’t stop my units attacking a random thing that’s different to what I’m clicking it to attack
Wow, I didn't know this many changes were added. This looks promising.
Thanks for sharing this.
"They made MegaRandom more random."
MegarerRandom... er.
What it sounds like to me is that if in ranked you select ? random civ the matching system will only match you with someone else choosing random(?)
IMAGINE PLAYING AGAINST A DARK AGE FEITORIA, GOD
i mean you both would have one mega random gives the same start to both players
@@hi14993 not if they're portuguese and you aren't, right?
@@mckenziecalhoun316 no mega random creates the random map then the starting setup and copies them to all players on the map
@@mckenziecalhoun316 lets say you started with 2 tiles of gold and 7 tiles of stone on mega random your opponent would be facing the same situation
@@hi14993 yes... but only ports should have the ability to start with a Feitoria, right? Or is it like the fact thst meso civs can start with stables?
You forgot to mention a new genius feature: losing elo on both wins and losses.
Hope T90 uploads all d good stuff like this to UTube & become T100
These are all great updates, but I feel they are still avoiding the real issue that the trade cart carrying the French flag in the final Joan of arc mission is counted as a military unit, causing me to have to wall it in a corner so I could select my army without it to charging into longbows.
T90 it means that your allies are forced to pick random civ not enemy
Archipelago, that was an important change. Why skip over?
Why would you ban Baltic? :'(
It's meh

Hey t west
Oh hey it's one of my new favorite youtubers
ahh Viper is gonna LOVE the new AI changes
Still just 7 maps in the pool 😭
The new prioritizing option will likely even hit map diversity harder.
@@Koenkijktfilmpjes Yea that will be the trade off we have to face if there is to be a 100% fair system. Right now it will be "randomly" fair.
We need 9hour patch note videos from you just like PurgeGamers did for Dota 2 xD (j/k)
Anyone else now has the game to be halting for half a second every 10-30 seconds? Both in singleplayer and in multiplayer (tried on spectate). Switching off the internet, or lowering the resolution (PC is more than fast enough) does not help. This only came up today, with the new patch.
I mean... Who DOES cheat at Aoe?
Takes away all the fun in my opinion.
why is nobody talking about the fact that this update breaks the game with lag and villagers automatically walking across the map to enemy farms in your LOS?
Oh no that isn't good managament. You shouldn't move them all at once try to balance it.
About seeing in game chat while spectating, it is possible(likely probable) that you can spy on a friend's opponents and feed information to them which could be considered cheating. In game chat on a recorded game i dont see why that isn't possible though.
So you can't pick a civ in ranked now? At least if your enemy goes random...
No, you can. The random civ option can never force anything on you, it only activates if both players opt into it.
@@nellam8 Yes, and I guess most of the players have the same preferred map such like Arabia.
Land nomad isn’t in the team game rotation.
This sucks.
unless you ban that map, if you are getting stuck playing the same maps, then ban them.
I assume "create another lobby" means.. that once you host a game, finish the game, and then try to host again, you are unable to. .. not, that you could creat multiple lobbies.
Hey T90 and friends, what do you guys think of the social features and lobby options (or lack of) on DE vs voobly?
Making Mongolian houses yurts is such a good idea
Hey T90, I've been watching your videos on RUclips for a while, but have never caught a Livestream as I don't use twitch much. I was curious how people go about getting chosen for community games?
I want one more civ because 36 is a perfect square.
T90, I play games with my dad, and host them. I would always have to restart my game to host a second game after we finished the first because I couldn't host another.
I would like a Nomad game type where you can't get past Feudal Age. Really emphasize that you're a nomadic people and can't be civil.
Fantastic update, they're really delivering on their promises.
Why not just hide the civ a player received when they play random?
Cheese Steak Jimmy's
Damn, I wanted more civ changes. I really hoped they make Bulgarians more viable.
I don’t know the tech tree for like half of the civs, I’m 1150 elo for God’s sake. Don’t make me go random. I really hope that’s not true.
It's not, see his comment about it here: ruclips.net/video/hZNiv1IAUK0/видео.html&lc=Ugykg3lFhuQ1lzO_wjF4AaABAg
At this point, I want them to improve spectating just so T90 will stop talking about it.
Please read patch updates with a very zoomed in browser! It's better for the mobile experience :)
less than 16Gig is quite hard though
also you got the koreans wrong, the units cost 1 less wood now
