Thank you! I came here from your washer video. Unfortunately both needed fixing and you explained everything very well. I took pictures when I got to the element 😆 I was like nope not forgetting that part. Overall easy fixing few stops with the little helper I had. Great video!
Thank you for posting this video. My Samsung dryer works again after I replaced the heating element. I saw others comment on skipping the drum removal but for me it was easier with it out of the way.
My version of the same model number had two mount screws at the back of the support bracket and a mount screw just inside the deflector plate of the element housing securing it to the support bracket. I also found that reassembling the element housing after installing the new one was a bitch and what made it easier was sliding a Allen key into the holes to keep all three pieces aligned so I could set another screw on the same side. And beware, the metal inside the machine is really sharp! Edit: I did not bother taking the drum out, but doing so would have made the extra screws easier to remove/reinstall. I don’t regret skipping that part though. Thank you very much for the video, this gave me what I needed to do the job myself. Cheers from South Georgia.
Oh you can get cut easily, I actually cut the crap out of myself but didn’t show it because you never know how someone will react to seeing blood. But glad I could help.
I have this same dryer and it won’t turn on. A repairman unplugged and plugged back in the electrical components of the touch panel? He charged me over $200 to do it. The part cannot be replaced. I can’t afford to pay someone every few weeks when it decided to act up. Can you show me how?
Take pics and account for screws. Thanks for your help, followed instructions. I didn't take the drum out, I just removed the metal bracket/stand that the heater coil was resting in.
Maybe this will help someone but I did get the element out without removing the drum. I took the 4 screws out of the bracket that holds the heater element. It just takes some patience and low profile screw driver to get them off the backside. I have done this twice
Yes I looked at the views and thought 10k people must have the same problem. Good news is the price went down from 65 to 45 for the whole heating element. Maybe when it goes out again in a few months it will be 30. 😂
Can’t stress this enough, get a multimeter and test your outlet first. If one leg of the 240 outlet is not working the drier will turn on and run as if nothing is wrong but both legs are needed for the heating element, hence no heat. I followed this video and replaced my heating element only to find out it was just one side of the breaker in my electrical panel that was faulty.
Mine would run the whole time but the clothes would be completely wet still. I did run it with the door open using a screwdriver to press the shut off safety switch to see it tumble. I changed the element out and everything worked as it should.
so mine when the heating element was bad would actually count down like normal from say 45 down to 1 but then at 1 time would go back to around 36 minutes or so. This cloths were still wet, but the dryer would not stop running it kept running the whole time.
@@ChrisThedudenurse thanks for the response. I took mine completely apart last night. Same model as yours. 3 years old. Totally burnt out with black lint. Parts come tomorrow. I just hope it goes back together correctly. I took pictures

Why did you skip over getting the new element screw holes lined up? Mine aren't lining up and I noticed yours weren't either.
If your holes aren’t lining up then the element is facing the wrong way.
Where did you find the new heating element?
Amazon. Find the numbers on the inside of the door to look up the model number.
