- In this video I explain how to install OEM illuminated door sills. I have wanted these for the longest time and am super excited to finally have them. It’s just one of those things that when you have, you couldn’t see yourself living without 😄. It’s super OEM+, and if you know me, I love OEM+. This install is pretty straight forward. You got this! I know there is one company that makes an illuminated front emblem, but I’m not a fan of how it looks. I am actually selling an illuminated rear emblem that you place under your OEM one and it illuminates the back of it. Kinda hard to explain, but if you DM me on Instagram I can send a picture. 🙂

I think the 14-20 use the fiber optic technology, where is the 2021+ uses led!
Oh interesting! I believe you can use the 2021+ ones on the 14-20 too.
@@Grey3IS the 2021 uses different wire tapping method...but thanks for your video tho!
@@S1000XR Interesting! It believe it can still be installed on the 14-20 though, just a different wiring method, right? I’ve seen the “F Sport” ones for the 21+ on some 14-20’s.

Love the vid man ! Quick question I am now realizing that there are footwell lights ???? I didn’t even know that because mine don’t work 😂 would you possibly know where to get replacement ones because I can’t seem to find an
Thank you! And oh man 😄. I replaced mine with LEDs. They use T10 LEDs. You can get some from amazon for fairly cheap. You just twist the stem of the light, pull it out, then pluck out the halogen, and push in the new LED. You can get to it by dropping that little tray that the light is in like I did in the video 🙂.

I have these for my 2018 GS350 but I really want to make them light up red.
Ooooo, that’ll definitely take some custom work! I bet a custom lighting person, like WiseDetailz, could do it 🤷♂️.
Would it work to simply add some little red, transparent 'lens' back by the spot where the fibre optic cable plugs into the light source?
Or would that dim the lumens too much?

Thank you. Installed mine yesterday. I was following the manual the dealer included and got confused when I started on the passenger side when the instruction and the diagram didn't match. I watched your video and finished the installation. Can you tell me where you got your led bulb for the footwell? I replaced mine with LED a while back, but I always thought they were a little too bright. I like how yours don't seem as bright as mine. Appreciate your help.

Awesome! And it interesting, because the new “F Sport” ones for the 21+ IS are plug-in. Maybe this was a slight design experiment. 😅
@@Grey3IS yes odd choice, the RC is the same as this but the suvs are still plug and play. I wish they sold the fspot ones for the 3rd gens
@@FatalJ3SUS69 If I’m not mistaken, you can put the “f sport” (21+) door sills on the 3rd gen’s. I believe I’ve seen it done. I just prefer the “Lexus”.
On the Europe version the drivers sides wire is black and passenger side wire is green. Im guessing the same principle still applies?

@@Grey3ISive installed theses and they both work however the passenger side sill does not turn off when the door actuator is pressed? any tips on a fix or shall i just leave as is? i had to two purple wires on this side and tapped into the darker purple as this match the colour on the sill light projector. Is it worth tapping into the lighter purple wire to see if that works and would this affect the darker purple wire connection as wire may now be cut if the t tap is removed. FYI my 3IS is right hand drive so the wires would be the same for your Drivers side 3IS
@@Kalhan482 Interesting… it’s definitely worth trying the other wire. Or at least taking a multimeter to it and testing it. You don’t want the light to burn out quickly or drain your battery.

You can do this! The door sills for the 21+ are slightly different though. They don’t use fiber optic. So, just get the correct ones for your 21+.
