Thanks for taking the time to make this excellent video. I was wondering if you could help with one question.I have an acrylic painting to which I already added gloss medium as a sealing layer. Can I still add some oil glaze on top? I would much appreciate your advice 🙏
As long as the acrylics & acrylic medium are dry my understanding is that you are able to put an oil paint glaze overtop! You can put oil over acrylics, but it’s not advisable to do it the other way around and put any acrylic on top of oil.
Walnut oil is a great choice. Linseed tends to be a stronger/more flexible oil overall which it’s why it’s the go to, however walnut oil will yellow less which is especially good for the lighter colours. Another main difference is dry time. Linseed dries faster which is an advantage for someone who’s on a deadline/works in layers. But if you like to work wet on wet walnut will stay workable for longer so it’s really down to preference as a painter cuz they’re both very suitable oils to use. I may do a vid on this as I havnt done many at all on the differences between oil mediums so thx for the idea! 🤗

Haven't heard it mentioned by you yet but i was wanting tips know your thoughts on using walnut oil instead of linseed oil. 🤔
