Not quite so. When you get to a certain age, you need to look after elderly parents who want to do good and somehow end up on the "sucker list" of these blood suckers. I am a Christian and I believe they should be under the same rules as any other business. I say that because I used to be on staff at a church and they run just like a business. If they are passing on collected offerings to real charity, then those offerings should be tax exempt. Money spent on things such as staff salaries, building expense, basic church operating expenses like utilities and teaching materials should not be exempt from taxes.

Not quite so. When you get to a certain age, you need to look after elderly parents who want to do good and somehow end up on the "sucker list" of these blood suckers. Thank goodness my aging mother asked me my advice on whether to send a cheque to some outfit. I am a Christian and I believe they should be under the same rules as any other business. I say that because I used to be on staff at a church and they run just like a business. If they are passing on collected offerings to real charity, then those offerings should be tax exempt. Money spent on things such as staff salaries, building expense, basic church operating expenses like utilities and teaching materials should not be exempt from taxes.

How does society benefit? What essential services do they provide? As a tithe-paying member of say, Paula's church, if you were ill in hospital, chances are she wouldn't even know much more to pay you a visit.
