Nice explanation of rainbows to people! Lucky for me you didn't figure out my secret. The fact that you can't ever reach the bottom of a rainbow makes it the perfect place for me to hide my gold 😝
Impeccable video! ALL questions about Rainbows are answered and with very good explanations, so I think it is easy to understand. I was impressed when I once gave water to plants in front of a large glass front of a winder garten and then I saw a rainbow in front of me. So I could create my own rainbow and yes I remember I had the sun in my back.
a lot of them do, and they all come together to form an image in your eye. it seems that any of the rays that dont align correctly simply get scattered elsewhere, so you wont see them.
@@alo2847 I don't really think I understand it either, but here's what I get: the rainbow that you see is the sunlight that get dispersed from a droplet passed a specific angle (40-42 degrees as in 1:23). as long as it's still raining, then many droplets regularly passed that specific angle, so the rainbow appears to be always there. remember, the droplets have to pass that specific angle otherwise you'll only see it as a white light just imagine that there's an imaginary section in the sky that if a droplet passes it, then you'll see it as one of the color in the spectrum. highest droplets make red light, lowest droplets make purple light as in 1:37 I hope that make sense.
One guy answered your question with his question.. The reason we see only 1 or 2 is because the we are catching the raindrops with our eyes, at the right angle, at the right time... almost like getting blinded by headlights in the mirror. Only happens at that specific angle..
this is the full explanation of a rainbow. Other explanations don't explain the specific angles required, why the arc forms circular, or why we only see the upper part of the arc
because red light has more wavelength so the are slow and something which is slow cannot possibly deviate at a greater wavelength and hence violet deviates more than red. for more clarity watch 0.29 of video. its clear cut.
The guy has gone really high for this...😃😃Check @2:45....since it is a full circle....there's no end part of rainbow meeting at horizon.....so no pot of gold💰💰😄😄
All the info on the Light réfraction and none spent on the motion aspect of the raindrops. The millions of raindrops are all moving at random speed and direction with wind gusts etc. But the rainbow remains steady. Why ?
Because the effect is seen from raindrops at a specific location in the sky. It does not get "carried along" with a falling drop, it gets replaced by the drop that falls into the same(or similar) location an instant later. Much like a movie of an stationary object, where we see then same image in each frame.
I got the pot of gold! I understood how are rainbows formed.
So, the end of the rainbow is you? and you're the pot of gold. Wholesome
Lol
Flat Earth people swear a rainbow is really a straight line 😂
"And there's no pot of gold" buzz kill

Awesome video. Please consider making more such videos on different topics of Physics.

this is the video that I've been searching for years :D
I got lost in music 😂😂😂😂 I had to rewatch
Awesome video, the cone shape was all I needed to see
This 4 min animation got my all doubts clear, thank you
mr. MET OFFICE . you are great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! its absolutely fantastic. hope to see more videos
Amazing.
Perfect explanation! 💙💙
I still don't get why you only see one (or two) rainbows when every drop of water (and there would be LOTS of them!) refracts light.

@@AlexWohlbruck but droplets move very fast while rainbow stays the same for an hour. Why?

The Rainbow is water reflecting off of our Firmament.

Nice explanations 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏 sir
Better than any other explanations.
this is the full explanation of a rainbow. Other explanations don't explain the specific angles required, why the arc forms circular, or why we only see the upper part of the arc
but why does violet bend/refract the most and red refracts the least??????
Because of diffrence in thier velocity
because red light has more wavelength so the are slow and something which is slow cannot possibly deviate at a greater wavelength and hence violet deviates more than red. for more clarity watch 0.29 of video. its clear cut.
@@chunksvlogs2097 No! Every colour of white have same velocity. All the colours refract with respect to their wavelength. 👍
Thumbs up from me and my physics friend who debated this for hours. (I was right) :)
Great explanation, thanks
Watched a couple of rainbow videos which helped me understand this completely. Best description ive found
A rainbow just follows the shape of the sky. Do the experiment using curved glass
Exactly! It is a picture of the Firmament.
This video was clearly made so that they keep all the gold for themselves!
Very nice animation and explanation
Loving the music.

I got a friend to drive to the end of my rainbow and get my pot of gold.
WHATTT????? There is no pot of Gold at the end of a rainbow?
Understandable! Have a great day!
What this actually confirms is that light bends.
duh, how do you know there is no pot of gold if you've never been there?
The guy has gone really high for this...😃😃Check @2:45....since it is a full circle....there's no end part of rainbow meeting at horizon.....so no pot of gold💰💰😄😄
someone else got there first.
Because the rainbow changes its position as you move but the pot cannot move
So it's simply not there
I already took it. Then how would he find🤐🤐🤐🤐🤐🤐🤐
Excellent! And what's the angle of a secondary arc?
50.4 deg. (red) and 53.4 deg. (violet)
I followed it to a bank 💀💀💀💀
Thats your pot of gold
Nice
I'm from india🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳

Amazing explanation, keep up the good work👐
Don't bother to watch... there's no pot of gold in the end 😅
nice
i hope to see one someday
What song 🎶 is this ?
No pot of gold?? Oh man
Thanku so much
Clearly understood 👊👊👊

Thanks bro, you got me 2marks on exam 👌✌️
wow
👍
Ok
Anyone from Study School😏😏??
Why don't you speak?😡
I am sicka reading
Terrible music tho😢
