Everytime I watch this I wonder how many more times can Nathan be treated this way by Elizabeth and not give up? Wake up, Elizabeth! Nathan is not just infactuated with you, he has genuine love for you, girl! Don't throw that away!

@@vanessarubalcaba9225 I think Nathan has also been patient :) It does not envy (Lucas was jealous) It keeps no records of wrongs (Lucas was upset she didn’t tell him about his parents, said what would you know about love, you made it clear you’re not comfortable with public display of affection...) Always hopes (Nathan is still hoping) I just wrote this in good fun! I think Erin has done an incredible job acting. I truly can see it going either way because as viewers we don’t know what’s in Elizabeth’s heart. I have my preference but the looks have been intense with both. We shall see!!
I might be wrong but it seems as if the team saloon owner fans are on his side because of surface things , for instance " he's so handsome , he treats her so nice , he has more in common with her , he's rich , and blah blah blah , but in the long run will those Surface things last ? I could understand teen age girls , infatuated young ladies being aroused by the tangible things , but I'm.willing to bet there are a lot that are older and that makes you wonder are many females today caught up in looks , manufactured happiness and etc. Here you have a young woman who comes from opulence and has lived a much privileged life. , but there was something stirring inside her spirit , that motivated her and inspired her to reach for higher aspirations , rather than remaining in her present life ! She ventured towards a completely different existence, a small quaint little western town and she sought out the" pioneer spirit " and settled in and met a lot of new friends! She was living her dream., being a school.teacher in a place that she could make a difference in the lives of the children ! Coming from an opulent life, never did she imagine in her wildest imagination , that she could and would fall in love with someone that was much different than her , but she has a heart of gold , just young and green.and without " worldly or street sense , but her heart was pure ! Being young and some what naive , she met a man , a charmer who tried to woo her with deceptive motives , and this new experience had her going against the advice and the protective words of the young Mountie . the guy Billy Hamilton made her feel shame, heart broken and very angry ! The Mountie was only looking out for her and had her best interest at heart ! As each season went, the love between them.grew and new adventures came ! The most horrible thing happened with Jacks death and Elizabeth 's heart was crushed and the pain she bore was devastating ! With the entire town's help she was able to at least stand again, breathe a little until she discovered that she was with child , and a new experience occurred ! Now she sees another Mountie in town and being curious she ( not Nathan ) ventured over to the jail and made the " first " move and introduced herself and soon they started communicating whenever the occasion raised! She seemed to had grown some feeling a for him.as time went by and each time that what appeared as him.being shy , it confused her because she could not understand why ? She was unaware of a secret he was holding inside and the time She said to him., when you figure it out let me know ( that was a major hint ) imagine anyone that has strong feelings for another but they cannot openly express what's in their heart because of a secret that is literally eating them.alive ! Now she meets a new man while walking with Rosemary and Rosemary with her usual perky self uttered " oh he seems charming " but instantaneous , she said emphatically " oh no ! Those charmer types they are no good , they get what they want and quickly leave ! That is very similar to how his mother described him.! He saw a young woman , bright and pretty , with a beautiful spirit , a kind and caring spirit , and he used charm.and flattery to move her ! As time went by an infatuation started and being vulnerable from.her coping with grief and her messed up emotions , she said that she needed to be able to breathe a little , and to escape from.the mounting pressure of real life after Jack ! The infatuation was manufactured with so many surface things and The other team.cannot see that its all a fantasy , a dream , an escape from.reality for awhile thing ! The saloon owner has shown periodically bouts of insecurity and its highlighted everytime he sees Elizabeth with Nathan whether it's friendly encounters or heated in anger! After the scene where she unfriendly hurt Rosemary's feeling a by lashing out at her , similar to the she did Nathan , she had a conversation with Ned's daughter and I believe that slowly awakened the old Elizabeth , and something changed at the wedding , she wrestled with should she grab the saloon owners hand but she held back , then at the reception they did not dance with each other , and when she looked over at Lee and Rosemary and saw the look on her face , she then tapped Nathan on the shoulder and asked him.would he walk outside with her , he agreed but with some hesitancy , but when she opened to Nathan and told him that she doesn t blame him.for Jack's death , that gave him.much relief , and when he grabbed her hands and looked into her eyes , it was a warm moment that was long long overdue , .....and the Saloon owner was looking creepy at them.im the window , and it angered. Him.! Now it does not mean that she will choose Nathan over him , but how do you choose one man friendship., but your heart is with another ? Nathan truly Loves her and he did not have to resort to surface tangible things , flowery rhetoric , No, all he did was ....be himself , just as Jack did ! Team Nathan !
For those who are asking why did he take so long to tell her, and are also complaining that he came to HV in the first place. It wasn't his responsibility to come, and it wasn't his responsibility to tell her because.... It wasn't his fault! If it was his fault he would have been fired from the Mounties. He came to HV out of respect for his fellow mountie, and out of the kindness of his heart. He felt guilty, because like Bill said, he's the kind of guy that always wonders if he could have done better.
@Elly C, yes! He has a duty to serve and protect, a mountie way of life to honor what he signed up for to serve. Was guilty of not telling her bec was never right moment to do so until he fell so hard for her and now is fighting for her heart to open up and not be afraid, willing to give up his profession...Jack didn't there's the difference between the 2.

Umm the right time would have been when he first came to town. He should have just told her. That's like saying to someone, "I love you, but just you know I have a devistating secret to tell you that I've kept from you for years", "but please just know I love you." "That makes it ok right?" "Cause I love you?" He was selfish, he only thought about how if he told her he might lose her. He could of told her anytime.

Everyone was literally walking around whispering and staring at the man like he wasn't welcome there. And when Elizabeth introduced herself to him he told her that he had heard that Jack was a great Mountie and she responded that Jack was a great man. So what was he supposed to do blurt out oh by the way I was supposed to lead that training mission that he was killed on.

Plus I don't think he ever would of told her. The only reason she found out that he was at fort Clay was because Ally said something. She is feeling betrayed by him, she doesn't understand why he didn't tell her. I would feel the same way. I feel he was selfish by not telling her, he was fearful she wouldn't understand that so he kept it hidden. He could have told her, she would have felt less betrayed instead of hearing it second hand and then having to force him to come clean.

Both men appear to be good gentlemen. They each have those that admire them and that’s okay. It is obvious that each team wants “their guy” to be with Elizabeth. The question is who does Elizabeth love? She is the one who will have to live with her decision. I have seen people commenting that Elizabeth always seem uptight with Nathan but is smiling and happy with Lucas. Yes, that could be because she loves Lucas and not Nathan. It could also be that what you see with Nathan is the tension of a passionate love that she does not want to admit. She is fighting against strong feelings that she doesn’t want to have. Their are plenty of moments during the last two seasons where she is smiling with delight into Nathan’s eyes. People have insinuated that Nathan should do the gentlemanly thing and step back because he sees Elizabeth and Lucas have a relationship now. If they were clear about having a “relationship”, I would maybe think the same. Elizabeth has not once told Nathan that she is dating Lucas now or she has accepted a courtship with Lucas. Neither has Nathan been continually approaching her to declare his undying love and beg her to give them a chance or to go on a date and he hasn’t been giving her flowers or gifts in an attempt to woo her. He has respectfully kept his distance. It is mainly Elizabeth who has found reason to approach him. When she does, He honestly admit his love for her as a given. He doesn’t hide it. It is a matter of fact. No pressure is applied to return that love. I don’t think his love is confused with his desire to protect. He came to protect and ended up falling in love. As I said, both men have conducted themselves honorably, but there can be only one or neither. That is Elizabeth’s choice. Hopefully, we can be happy for her if she has found genuine love after Jack. And if Hallmark follows true to form, once she has made her choice between two great guys, she will be happy with no regrets. And I just know, if you have two great guys, Hallmark is going to work things out great for the other one eventually. I hear they are both going to be in Hope Valley. Wouldn’t it be great to watch their own love story unfold?
Very well said. I really want Nathan for Elizabeth but man I loved that scene with Lucas and ally! That scene made me think if it does go the other way, I can be okay with it. But I really think Elizabeth is fighting her feelings for Nathan otherwise she wouldn’t care enough to be so angry and always approach him as she has been since season 6. Nathan’s actions make so much more sense to me now but I’d like him to be a bit kinder towards Lucas now. I’ve always thought there was something fishy about Lucas but maybe I was wrong so when Nathan does realize that as well I hope they can learn to be friends like rosemary and Elizabeth. Love love love this show !
@NP I have not watched this last episode yet. I have decided to watch episodes 8-12 after she makes her decision. I watch these highlights because I don’t mind spoilers. Lol! Based on how they have written the story before this season, I had come to consider Nathan the better choice. What I wrote was just as much a talking to myself (and a reminder as well) as it was to anybody else. Lol!

I think Lucas is all ready realizing where Elizabeth heart lies and with who. From this current conversation they just had about him asking her what did she says when Nathan told her he loved her not once but twice! I'm curious as to why she didn't run this time. She stayed. He moved toward her as he was saying it and she didn't even run. I think him saying her exact quote scared her though. It's why she got so mad at RM assuming that she said something to Nathan, but she hadn't. This isn't a look of a woman that doesn't love this man. If she didn't love him, she'd have told him especially after what she found out but she just can't. They're making this a slow burn for a reason. They're making it to where she isn't saying it back, but not telling him she doesn't for a reason. They're giving them this hurdle for a reason.
I totally agree! But how in the world are they going to bring all this about in 3 more episodes? What would get to Elizabeth more than anything? Maybe little Jack doing something that puts him at risk and Nathan rescuing him? Next Sunday will mostly be about Ned and Florence's wedding and then we have 2 episodes. Should be interesting!

Its so obvious they are making a slow burn of her final decision ...but BBird, at one promo said it as much it will be a BOOM!! fans will be "ROLLING And Gasping " in final episodes of this season8 which I think is mean and cruel for the fans of the team who E will not choose! This Season brought too many negativities...except for Ned and Florence, the Canfields, and Henry finally reunited with his son!
@@emydel679 Oh, I know. It's been kind of a cruel season. Lucas fans would be left wondering why would they let Lucas be with Elizabeth this entire season just to end up with Nathan. (I as a Nathan fan believe they are just missing the slow burn romance, and the tiny moments with Nathan that show where her heart is) but I digress I still believe it's cruel. AND Nathan fans if Lucas is chosen would be left wondering why they led us to believe it was a love triangle, with all these tiny hints to look for, if she chooses Lucas. Why give us false hope and tell us Nathan is still in the triangle if it's one side. Even more. How cruel to not even give Nathan a chance, a date, anything of the sort. If he never stood a shot they shouldn't be expressing that it's a love triangle. It should have been made more clear that Lucas was the final choice as it was very clear that Charles was never going to be Elizabeth's choice. But, instead, they keep bringing up all these moments with Nathan and Elizabeth, and these tiny, passionate moments and telling us the triangle isn't over. Even the last episode says, "Elizabeth makes her choice," Part of me believes that they wanted to show Elizabeth with Lucas and give Lucas fans these dates, this small romance as a way to give both Lucas and Nathan fans some stuff to be happy with. But, in the end, she chooses Nathan and that's when Nathan fans finally get their moments. It's kinda cruel. But I have known of shows to do that in big triangles as a way to say, "We appreciate the ship, here are some amazing moments, they do care about one another, but they're just not the endgame."

Remember at the beginning with Jack, she played the rich girl and now she is dueing the same thing to Nathan, she's inlove with him and doesn't want to admited to herself.

It would be wrong of Lucas to blurt out 'I love you' when Elizabeth who is slowly moving forward specifically said she wanted to take things slow. Since she said that, both of them have been taking several small steps together. I would think less of Lucas if he were to say the words 1.) despite E saying what she wanted 2.) just because Nathan also said it !
@@debrawooten4158 Personally I don't think that she purposely meant to allow this flirtation to escalate as it has , and I'm not a fan of the one sided triangle , but she has met a dilemma , a mental crisis that she wasn't as prepared for , seeing that she is a human being , a young woman that exemplifies good morals , kindness , a gentle spirit , who comes from well to do background , well.mannered and she holds herself to high standards , but she is " YOUNG " and she is easily prone to flattery , charming men, ( aka Billy Hamilton ) , refined men ( Charles ) and it often sways her right thinking and infatuation creeps in , and it messes up things for her ! She loves " too deep " and that can become a dangerous thing for the stable mind , if tragedy occurs , which it did with Jack dying ! She has not been her old self , and she's making certain decisions based off of hurt and pain ! She made the first move towards the new Mountie , when she saw him and ventured over to the jail and introduced herself and from then after they had brief encounters and I believe it was like tiny steps leading up to love between them.! There have been too many instances where she " looks for him " and the way her facial expressions and that gleam in her eyes , you cannot manufacture that , it comes from inside the heart and it's true love ! The trauma she has suffered with Jack passing , her unexpected pregnancy has shaken her faith , her spirit , and it causes her to be conflicted and when someone says something that doesn't agree with her , she easily gets angry and she lashes out ! What she is wrestling with I don't envy, for that is heart wrenching and it taxes the conscious mind , with Abigail gone and Jack , she feels abandoned , fear , mixed with emotions , and when Nathan finally opened. up and confessed that he loves her , she shuddered shuddered because she knew that she had to get out there before her heart melted and she could not control herself ! Rosemary said " oh my it's good that you got out of there because who knows what would have happened if you had stayed,Elizabeth said " I know but it was not nice how I left him there pouring out his heart like he did , I just feel so bad ! She is running away from the truth , what's inside of her heart ! She happily said to Rosemary . " I'm.having so much FUN with the saloon owner " , ......this is an escape for her and a safety blanket and she admitted that she doesn't know what she wants , I so mixed up , I just can't think. straight ! I could be wrong but I believe the infatuation bubble will be about to burst , because the gambler is suspecting his biggest fear , that she actually is in love with Nathan ! Finally, when Nathan said at the work site that he was not giving up on her , the gambler said " ok but you better be doing it for Allie and her and not for yourself " ! Then when he asked her " after. Nathan told you that he loves you......again , what did you tell him ? She replied " I said nothing and I just left " ! He left with a dejected look and I believe that bit will be he that will suggest a " happy medium " ... It's obvious that you are running from your heart which is with Nathan and that will make her see the truth and that will. Make his journey from being a mysterious. businessman into a really nice guy and a well liked member of the town ! I could be wrong !
Nathan is the man. Elizabeth needs to wake up. Lucas is a wonderful man but he’s safe and very typical of what her parents would have wanted for her. I love Lucas he’s a great guy Nathan is the man. wake up Elizabeth
It seems to me that Elizabeth never processed her anger at Jack's death, and at Jack himself for going to Fort Clay in the first place. There are a lot of complicated emotions in that anger, and I don't think she's really addressed it. Nathan brings that up for her, especially with these reveals, and until she deals with this deep anger and sadness she feels towards her loss of Jack, she will keep finding people around her (Rosemary, Nathan, etc) to be angry with. Soon, she will face her grief, and then we will see a breakthrough.
Lucas has the qualities and embodies what a partner is and a honorable man. I think he fits and connects with Elizabeth perfectly. He has been a constant and wonderful with her, and what a sweet scene with Allie today... he handled that so well. He will be a great father.
Because of a feeling that it felt right. She lost her breath when her hands went into Nathan's hand. She even smiled until she realized it wasn't Lucas. It's signaling that her heart wants Nathan but her head wants Lucas.
I hope Nathan and Lucas become best friends and Lucas becomes like an uncle to Allie. I’ve always thought those two had a sweet friendship and understanding of one another.

There have been times where I was fristrated with Lucas, but last night I just wanted to hug his neck.because he was so sweet and so good with Allie. I don't know why he thought that was his place to question him about it. I do think Lucas will be ok when she chooses Nathan, though. Yes, it seems but I have some problems, 1) why does he talks in Elisabeth's place? The relationship between Ally and Elisabeth is a problem that the two of them have to solve. 2) The reason why he tolks is perhaps to get rid of a problem between him and Elisabeth, (Elisabeth loves Ally) 3) Elisabeth is not a trophy to win and therefore it is not true that it is a question between the two men. I hope someone tells Ally that respect for the will of others (including Ally's wishes) is one of the most important things in life. 4) Strange example, does he feel like the one he had tried to split her parents, the extra third? 5) Why does he immediately run to tell Elisabeth? I want to tell you that I have solved your problems ....... see how good I am. I didn't understand if Elisabeth was really happy with this interference.

Can't help comparing Jack and Nathans path toward winning Elizabeth...maybe am just biased....what do you guys think!!?E didnt expect to find love in HV, while N was noble.enough to think abt a young mother and guilty bec of circumstances and wanted to protect Jack's lil boy...and without planning, he fell in love in the process! She has used one excuse after another to approach him and it's always with a holier than thou attitude. The only time he has approached her since episode 2 was when she was sitting in the cold outside of the infirmary and he wrapped his blanket around her and she was actually nasty to him them. He should have taken his blanket and left. My point is Nathan has been giving her distance but she can't stay away from him. If she is truly happy with Lucas leave Nathan alone.

That’s because Elizabeth is still hurting. And she doesn’t know how to handle all of this situation at all. Elizabeth’s heart is still with Jack. She’s trying to move on. But it’s not easy.
E ran away in fear of loving another Mountie. She never faced her fears. She was only infatuated with L and still is. There is still 0 chemistry with L and E!
All I can say is this it's obviously who she is going to end up with in the very end. Nathan you can say whatever you want or try to support your theory why she isn't . And you can say it's wrong which is completely ridiculous. Nathan wanting to protect her and little jack because he felt like he is the cause of shortening another man's life. Which isn't true at all life is unexpected and although we don't know why things happen sometimes . They happen for a reason regardless if we understand them or we never do. Jack's purpose in life never was to fall in love but he did unexpectedly. And with that he was grateful enough to have the love people search or crave there whole lives . His duty his true calling was to be mountie and leave a legacy behind a grand one that will never be forgotten. Take that however you want to take it honestly I'm just being honest and realistic. Lucas is a good man with a good heart but he doesn't have Elizabeth heart. And I hope that he finds someone one day who will love all of him just as much he love them.
The fact that Nathan felt obligated to look after Elizabeth and her son is not uncommon, it’s a code among police, firemen and military and has been for many many decades, they look after their own and yes on occasion people in those communities who are looking out for a fallen comrade do fall in love and marry, it’s not uncommon, I am surprised at the lack of knowledge on this subject, Nathan didn’t do anything creepy at all, his character is a man of integrity, honesty to a fault and caring, he was right in not telling Elizabeth the situation as it wouldn’t have changed a thing and it would have opened the wound up again so to speak and caused her additional pain, the fact is that Jack and only Jack is responsible for his demise, he alone made the decision to try to save those recruits, a noble thing to do, but costly, that’s what hero’s do, they are risk takers!
All of the Lucas supporters always say that Lucas makes Elizabeth a better person. They have a mature relationship and he supports her in everything. What I see is a controlling and obsessive man. He stands in the background watching her every move. If she is not around he watches Nathan because he knows that where Nathan is Elizabeth will show up. All throughout seconds 6 and 7 everytime Nathan or Elizabeth would approach each other Lucas would show up out of thin air. Now that they are dating he is always in the background observing either one or both of them with a not so happy expression on his face. I would be happy and smiling to ( or at pretend to be) if I was in Elizabeth's shoes and I was in love with someone else that I was afraid to be with but I have another man who is rich wanting to wine and dine me to distract me from the pain in my heart.
Ummm have you even watched this season? Elizabeth has been the one who has taken the lead with her and Lucas. Not him. Yes he has taken her on dates but she found him and told him she was going to fallow the advice that she gave his mother about love, and told him she told nathan that she could not give him what he wanted, she grabbed his hand when he put it out at dinner, she cheers's to "us" at the picnic, she asks him to walk her home publicly after telling him she wants to share in all his joy and sarrow extending her hand out, she taps the seat and asks him to sit with her so they can talk and she leans in for a kiss that he stops. She literally says his name with a smile when she grabs nathan's hands thinking they are Lucas's. She is in love with Lucas. Shw cares for Nathan yes and she may love and care for him, but her heart is with Lucas.

Why does he retreat when Lucas tries to touch her? Is it you who sets out to show what you feel why? If you have feelings for someone, you always do it. If she really loved Lucas she would always touch him. Then I would like the writers to also grant us the opportunity to see a meeting between Nathan and Elisabeth where they can talk about what they feel, maybe they discover that they are just friends. I know that's denied.

That smile and saying Lucas' name when she was blind folded had desperation written all over it. As you yourself stated she has been walking all over town holding Lucas' hand, holding his hand at dinner, and in his office. So how could she not have known that she wasn't holding Lucas' hands. Elizabeth wants to be in love with anyone but Nathan because losing him scares her to death. I find it odd that she didn't decide to seek out Lucas to tell him that she wouldn't be seeing Nathan anymore and she was looking forward to seeing where things would go with him until after Nathan told her that he was in love with her
@@dorothysampson7414 I just watched all the episodes over 1-9, twice. She lit up when Lucas came back after louisiana and was so excited to see him, she was not like that with Nathan. When Nathan asked her to dinner she was very hesitant it's cause she knew she had already made up her mind about him, but went cause it was all 4 going, more like friends and less like a date.Elizabeth, little Jack, Ally and Nathan ran Into Lucas and saw a woman getting off the stage coach (his mother) Elizabeth got jealous when she saw lucas hug her, her face said it all. asking him lucas ("whom might this be?" ) With her eyes. And when she found out it was his mother you could tell she felt mortified, then told Nathan she wasn't feeling well. Helen confided in Elizabeth about lucas dad, Elizabeth was avoiding lucas when She told Nathan basically she doesn't want to be with him and he told her he loves her. Elisabeth didn't tell Lucas she wasn't seeing Nathan anymore until after they reconciled about his mom's confession, that when Elisabeth decided to take her own advice about love, shortly after her and Lucas got closer and closer Something else that's resonated with me in episode 1 is "Lee tells Jesse that love is more than just an emotion or a feeling it's a choice it's the choice to choose to love and show love every day in your marriage." I little later on Elizabeth tells Rosemary in episode 3, I know I made the right 'choice" in not "choosing" Nathan, but I do not know that I have "chosen" to be with Lucas. This was after Nathan said I love you to her, then her and Lucas reconcile and she takes her own advice about true love therefore "choosing" Lucas. I don't deny that she doesn't have feeling for Nathan. But I believe her heart is with Lucas. Her guessing Nathan's hands were Lucas's doesn't say anything, now had she not of uttered lucas's name with a smile I might feel differently , or if she would of grabbed lucas's hands and then said "nope" and then grabbed Nathan's thinking they were Lucas's I might feel differently but that didn't happen.
How did he know Jack left behind a wife AND CHILD... Elizabeth didn’t find out she was pregnant until months after Jack’s death and Nathan arrives shortly after the baby is born...soooo...????
I mean note that means that Elizabeth had a nine month pregnancy, and then the baby was a few months old by the time Nathan got there. There was an entire year for him to realize that Jack left behind a mother and son.
@@varisol6675 He treated Lucas that way because his first interaction with Lucas was trying to prevent a fight between Jessie and Lucas which ended with him getting a punch to his face that was meant for Lucas and he ended up getting put in jail by Bill because no one knew he was the new Mountie. His second bad encounter with Lucas was after Lucas taught Allie a card trick when she skipped school and used that card trick to cheat the children at school out of their lunch, snacks, and money.

that look she gives him when he said he felt like he was betraying jacks memory i feel like its making her have more respect and love for him while at the same time being distressing because she is being reminded of her loss and how much it hurts to lose someone so "close to your heart" that it quote "tears you apart" so there's this real conflict going on in her but that's what makes good tension for story Desire vs Fear and Misbelief. she thinks if she lets "TRUE" love in it will just bring her more hurt. which reminds me of Anne of green gables attitude in the 1980s miniseries the continuing story where Anne says "it seems like everything I love gets taken away" Coincidently Anne is also Canadian and the Anne books (vastly different to the films though) were mentioned earlier in the series when Elizabeth gives Anne of the island to Minnie to read to Angela. by the way that book was published in 1915 so we should be at the beginning of the first world war though if you are wondering why it hasn't affected the mounties I looked it up and apparently the Canadian government actually banned mounties from serving overseas in the first world war though I guess other citizens could.
She said to Nathan "haven't you ever lost someone so close to your heart" and he said not yet. I'm thinking she will pick Lucas and Nathan will tell her now that he has lost someone close to his heart. This would actually break my heart because I am Team Nathan 100%♥️
Amen! He's not fighting for love. He feeding his guilty feeling. He doesn't love her. He thinks that he has a responsability with her and wants to force her to love him. When you love someone, you leave the person free to choose. He is not doing this. He creates awkard, unconfortable situations, since he arrived in town. He treats her with low judgement, always thinking that she's not capable, even Bill called his attention last season. What does he want? He wants to live Jack's life? Come on, get your own family.
Elizabeth and Lucas aren't excally officially there not courting and its not inappropriate. For you to be persistent about who you love it would be inappropriate for Nathan to just give up. When he feels the way he does about Elizabeth.

I have never felt more deceived in depictions of scene portrayals than in this love triangle with Elizabeth. I feel as though the writers were also playing hurtful games with my ❤ heart as well, not just with the character of Nathan. And I know that they are just very fine actors acting a part, but still the written story line depictions were deliberately incongruent with her final choice. Correct, I am not critizing the actors or acting, but the writers. Trying to captivate and fool your audience for ratings should only go so far and here the writers went way too far. I feel so strongly regarding the complete lack of compassion for not only the character of Nathan but for all of human decency in general that I felt compelled to share again. And no, this is not about a sore fan that the character of Nathan was not picked. It is all about the way the writers dragged this on and played with all the fan viewers. So sorry that I foolishly allowed myself to play along in watching at all. I have never been made to feel this strongly regarding deceiving 😕 writing ✍ in any other film or series that I have ever seen. Just wanted to share in the hopes that perhaps the writers may read this and somehow care. Big waste of my time in watching the love cruelity. Done with WCTH. Can catch my favorite actors in many other roles and in many other shows and movies that will not depict poor writing skills. Peace out!!
I want to see Elizabeth and Lucas love story. Moving on and progrrsding... The way she touched her rings after he told her... He is there always if she needs him. I believe she wants to move on with him and her moments with him and the near kisses. But Jack and Nathan are like holding her back... I say Nathan cos he holds that Jack illusion and link now. And to be honest i'm finding Nathan off putting lately...

Edited: Though I'm #TeamLucas and think the E & L relationship is more mature and has been built on trust, open communication and definitely growing passion- this scene is proof /foreshadowing enough that we are heading to a conventional Hallmark ending pairing Elizabeth and the Mountie. Let's spare Lucas the pain and move on with N & E if that is so. I hope we see storylines and definitely a love story that's worthy of Lucas -he deserves it. If one is to go by pure narrative building,, then I would say E & Lucas are endgame as Season 8 has taken so much time to show the relationship between them grow; even in the 9th episode. Love how they always talk about possible misunderstandings; give each other space when needed yet always let the other know they are there for the other . She still lights up and smiles around him even in the middle of pain in this last episode. I hate to see this all go down the drain. And objectively speaking, if season 9 is to be the journey of Elizabeth opening her heart to love and romance again, then every single step so far has been only with Lucas, slowly initiating things and pushing the way forward step by step. Which is why TeamLucas fans could be more disappointed-as so far Elizabeth has not openly indicated in any way that she has encouraged Nathan's love or romance this season. The only thing she is guilty of- if its right to use that phrase- is running/ walking away without having an open conversation; but perhaps she needs time for this

The conventional storyline would be to pursue this and end with an E & N pairing. Would be very surprised if they did the unconventional. I so feel for Lucas. He has been nothing but wonderful to her, and also considerate of Nathan who doesnt even deserve it with his attitude and acting entitled and so on. Lucas just keeps his pain inside.

This is taking to long with Elizabeth the player, Lucas the devious one, and Nathan the good guy. If this is not settled this season I will not be watching anymore because it is taking to long for Elizabeth the player to decide. Nathan deserves batter, bring in a new character for Nathan someone that deserves Nathan.

Elizabeth should wake up, she can't admit that she loves Nathan, she is scared that she would lose Nathan as Jack and this fear make her character annoying. She is not herself and because of this she maight hurt Lucas
Do none of you remember, that jack never wanted a wife and family in the beginning. His father was a mounty who was killed and left his mother a widow and him and his brother without a father. But he fell in love with elisabeth and she fell in love with him.. They both eventually accepted the risks that came with his job, and had an amazing relationship and love story. But Honestly why do you team Nathan and Elizabeth fans think Jack would want her with another Mounty? Especially since what happened to him has now happens to Elisabeth and baby Jack. Lucas and Elisabeth are the better match not just cause he's considered safer, it because they are each other's equal in every way, they truly bring out the best in one another and have a connection and foundation that is solid. I want to see them grow and see Lucas become a father just like we would have watched jack learn.,#lucabeth.

Okay I've been fed up with Elizabeth for quite some time now but this last episode has pushed me over the edge. SHE IS NIW TAKING HER UNJUSTIFIED ANGER OUT ON ROSEMARY! I MEAN COME ON THATS YOUR BFF RIGHT THERE! It makes me furious and sad. Elizabeth doesn't deserve anyone at this point!
Sometime we take out our feelings on the ones closest to us. It's not intentional! Thier interaction was really not that bad her and Rosemary will be ok.. E is feeling so much right now. she feels betrayed by Nathan anyone can see that. She doesn't understand why he waited so long to tell her. It has stirred up so many emotions inside her pertaining to Jack. I would feel the same way, if someone I knew who supposedly loved me kept something like that it would stir up so many feelings, and I would need to process everything I felt. That is what she is going through.

Well if you think dating publicly someone else (expecially at the time) is saying yes and NOs are only valid if said out loud then we have a problem. In the last episode she said OUT LOUD Lucas' name as the person she was supposed to be with, even if the hands weren't his! Which..doesn't mean anything because she will get with Nathan in the end and we all know it, but it's still happening in the WRONG WAY and NOTHING about this is romantic or in character or even decent
Ok, way, way at the beginning of WCTH, Elizabeth & Jack were having words about him being sent to Coal Valley basically to 'take care' of her. Elizabeth, trying to be an independent woman, said 'I can take care of my own stubbed toe, thank you very much'. So I think that's part of why she likes Lucas is because he treats her like an equal. They work together & compliment each other. They have sweet moments but also have disagreements which they talk out & resolve pretty quickly. There's not that chemistry with Nathan. She doesn't need him to 'take care' of her. When she ran & hugged Nathan, it was emotions from him being a Mountie, not so much that she was in love with him. Of course she cared because he's a person, but I think more was read into that than what was there. Either way, that was way in the beginning of them getting to know each other. Since then, Nathan may have become a friend while her & Lucas were building a relationship. As for the bachelorette game, she was nervous, didn't want to play, she hadn't really ever held hands with Nathan, so it was obvious she just guessed hoping it was Lucas, her smile & saying 'Lucas' said it all. It's time for Nathan to move on & let Elizabeth & Lucas continue. And yes, the scene with Allie in the Saloon, totally shows he's a great & caring guy. There's been so many comments about him being a Saloon owner & how he'd be with little Jack....well, there's a good example.
wow...I guess we see what we want to see depending on who we want for Elizabeth because I have a whole different take on this story., I see Elizabeth wanting Nathan to ask her out--remember when she told him if you're wondering why I went out with Lucas, it's because HE ASKED. Then when she thought he was killed, I think it traumatized her to learn how much feelings she really had for him. But, at the same time, a Mountie was killed, and she realized that in a split second, she could have lost another love--and that terrified her...so she is pushing Nathan away. She is deliberating pursuing a relationship with Lucas because she thinks he is a safer choice. Lucas is more like a good friend (like Charles was)--if he was the one, I don't think she could have passed on that kiss in the rain. And when Nathan told her I know you feel the same way about me, she didn't deny it...she didn't say "I don't...she said "I can't"--she is fighting it with everything she's got, but you don't love with your brain, you love with your heart. That's why she picked him in that game.
It is true that Elisabeth tells Jack this, but I remember they are arguing and screaming, because Jack knew that your destination (Port Fullerton) it was changed why Elisabeth's parents asked for. After she likes holding Jack protection gives her confidence and trust , like Nathan. In the woods Nathan was with her and the children in distress, Lucas in the saloon. I watch she was happy to have Nathan with her.

It's every thing you can't understand. Did Nathan say he would take care of her ?? The least he could have done was to disappear around, now go to her city, knowing that she lost her husband with a child in her belly and didn't say anything? Just hanging around and still having the audacity to say you love her? I don't know what the series is up to, with this "destiny" thing. Do you mean that the love of Elizabeth's life had to die for her to be with the guy who would have gone to her husband's place? That she can't make another choice, has to follow that path? That she is so helpless that she needs to marry a police officer to be protected? (Even Rosemary hinted at that). I don’t understand anything anymore, didn’t the producers think? Who wants to marry someone who will always remember the death of their old love? What will you remember that if the son's father had been different, he could have been at home? The story took a horrible turn, if it ends anyway I won't watch it anymore. Oh, and Lucas as always an angel, watch his conversation with Allie in this episode, where on earth would Nathan be mature at that point? It was very beautiful, he is always incredible. But I am upset and disappointed! (Not to mention the other characters, they all suck).

I’m still being optimistic that Lucas will win Elizabeth’s heart ❤️. As I have stated before, she has already been with a mounty & it’s time for a change. Hopefully, they will bring in another love interest for Nathan next season. Come on now Hallmark, make the change. Lucas & Elizabeth!!!!
I’m hoping this is the case. After tonight’s episode I have my doubts however. I don’t understand why the writers would build up the romance between Elizabeth and Lucas and then now cast a doubt. I did like that when she picked Nathan during the party game, she called Lucas’s name.

Elizabeth doesn't need a father. She already has one. She doesn't need a man to take care of her. She needs a man who cares about her and sees who she really is, and not what he thinks she is. What a morbid idea of making her choose a man to substitute her late husband. She doesn't need another Jack. She doesn't need to choose the mountie just because he feels guilty about her husband's death. Come on! I really hope the writers can be more imaginative.
But following your logic Elizabeth and Jack shouldn't have turned out to be the super couple that they ended up being. When Elizabeth first went to Coal Valley (now Hope Valley) Jack was leaving there for another assignment somewhere else but her father arranged it with his superiors for his assignment to be cancelled so that he could stay there to protect her. Jack was furious. So basically it was arranged for Jack to take care of her and look at what a beautiful and loving relationship they ended up having.

@@thaisbarrosocorrea6948 the same could be true here. Nathan could’ve easily “protected her” without befriending her which I think was exactly his plan. I think...If you rewatch season 6 you’ll see he never approaches Elizabeth. It is always her. So I think as he got to know her, he fell in love with her. He had a hard time telling her in season 7 because he felt like he would be betraying jack but by season 8 realized love is worth the fight. He didn’t actually kill jack. It was an unfortunate thing that happened. He’s realized it’s not actually his fault and jack is not coming back so why would it be so weird? It’s not like he was jack and Elizabeth’s friend and then made a move to replace him as soon as he died? I think the creators of the show and actors have done a fantastic job of making the triangle in a way so that you could easily see both sides depending on your preference :)
The chemistry with Lucas is a million times better than with Nathan. She always looks like she is eating something sour when she talks to Nathan. She glows with Lucas.
The sour looks have only been from this season when she decided it would be too risky and too painful to lose another mounty. The previous two seasons there were a lot of flirtatious looks, and it was obvious she was interested, even though Nathan was acting reserved.
Really not liking Elizabeth very much anymore and it's really sad! You have run this storyline into the ground. First it was between Charles and Jack and now Nathan and Lucas. Like both characters and kind of wish they would both tell her enough and find someone who would actually treat them the way they deserve! :(
I find the Elizabeth character so annoying. Nathan would be wasted on her though it's obvious that is where it's headed. He should be with Fiona, who is alot more interesting. Don't really care who Elizabeth winds up with, just hoping it's not Nathan but know it will be.

I just wrote this in good fun! I think Erin has done an incredible job acting. I truly can see it going either way because as viewers we don’t know what’s in Elizabeth’s heart. I have my preference but the looks have been intense with both. We shall see!!

I might be wrong but it seems as if the team saloon owner fans are on his side because of surface things , for instance " he's so handsome , he treats her so nice , he has more in common with her , he's rich , and blah blah blah , but in the long run will those Surface things last ? I could understand teen age girls , infatuated young ladies being aroused by the tangible things , but I'm.willing to bet there are a lot that are older and that makes you wonder are many females today caught up in looks , manufactured happiness and etc. Here you have a young woman who comes from opulence and has lived a much privileged life. , but there was something stirring inside her spirit , that motivated her and inspired her to reach for higher aspirations , rather than remaining in her present life ! She ventured towards a completely different existence, a small quaint little western town and she sought out the" pioneer spirit " and settled in and met a lot of new friends! She was living her dream., being a school.teacher in a place that she could make a difference in the lives of the children ! Coming from an opulent life, never did she imagine in her wildest imagination , that she could and would fall in love with someone that was much different than her , but she has a heart of gold , just young and green.and without " worldly or street sense , but her heart was pure ! Being young and some what naive , she met a man , a charmer who tried to woo her with deceptive motives , and this new experience had her going against the advice and the protective words of the young Mountie . the guy Billy Hamilton made her feel shame, heart broken and very angry ! The Mountie was only looking out for her and had her best interest at heart ! As each season went, the love between them.grew and new adventures came ! The most horrible thing happened with Jacks death and Elizabeth 's heart was crushed and the pain she bore was devastating ! With the entire town's help she was able to at least stand again, breathe a little until she discovered that she was with child , and a new experience occurred ! Now she sees another Mountie in town and being curious she ( not Nathan ) ventured over to the jail and made the " first " move and introduced herself and soon they started communicating whenever the occasion raised! She seemed to had grown some feeling a for him.as time went by and each time that what appeared as him.being shy , it confused her because she could not understand why ? She was unaware of a secret he was holding inside and the time She said to him., when you figure it out let me know ( that was a major hint ) imagine anyone that has strong feelings for another but they cannot openly express what's in their heart because of a secret that is literally eating them.alive ! Now she meets a new man while walking with Rosemary and Rosemary with her usual perky self uttered " oh he seems charming " but instantaneous , she said emphatically " oh no ! Those charmer types they are no good , they get what they want and quickly leave ! That is very similar to how his mother described him.! He saw a young woman , bright and pretty , with a beautiful spirit , a kind and caring spirit , and he used charm.and flattery to move her ! As time went by an infatuation started and being vulnerable from.her coping with grief and her messed up emotions , she said that she needed to be able to breathe a little , and to escape from.the mounting pressure of real life after Jack ! The infatuation was manufactured with so many surface things and The other team.cannot see that its all a fantasy , a dream , an escape from.reality for awhile thing ! The saloon owner has shown periodically bouts of insecurity and its highlighted everytime he sees Elizabeth with Nathan whether it's friendly encounters or heated in anger! After the scene where she unfriendly hurt Rosemary's feeling a by lashing out at her , similar to the she did Nathan , she had a conversation with Ned's daughter and I believe that slowly awakened the old Elizabeth , and something changed at the wedding , she wrestled with should she grab the saloon owners hand but she held back , then at the reception they did not dance with each other , and when she looked over at Lee and Rosemary and saw the look on her face , she then tapped Nathan on the shoulder and asked him.would he walk outside with her , he agreed but with some hesitancy , but when she opened to Nathan and told him that she doesn t blame him.for Jack's death , that gave him.much relief , and when he grabbed her hands and looked into her eyes , it was a warm moment that was long long overdue , .....and the Saloon owner was looking creepy at them.im the window , and it angered. Him.! Now it does not mean that she will choose Nathan over him , but how do you choose one man friendship., but your heart is with another ? Nathan truly Loves her and he did not have to resort to surface tangible things , flowery rhetoric , No, all he did was ....be himself , just as Jack did ! Team Nathan !

For those who are asking why did he take so long to tell her, and are also complaining that he came to HV in the first place. It wasn't his responsibility to come, and it wasn't his responsibility to tell her because.... It wasn't his fault! If it was his fault he would have been fired from the Mounties. He came to HV out of respect for his fellow mountie, and out of the kindness of his heart. He felt guilty, because like Bill said, he's the kind of guy that always wonders if he could have done better.

Both men appear to be good gentlemen. They each have those that admire them and that’s okay. It is obvious that each team wants “their guy” to be with Elizabeth. The question is who does Elizabeth love? She is the one who will have to live with her decision.
I have seen people commenting that Elizabeth always seem uptight with Nathan but is smiling and happy with Lucas. Yes, that could be because she loves Lucas and not Nathan. It could also be that what you see with Nathan is the tension of a passionate love that she does not want to admit. She is fighting against strong feelings that she doesn’t want to have. Their are plenty of moments during the last two seasons where she is smiling with delight into Nathan’s eyes.
People have insinuated that Nathan should do the gentlemanly thing and step back because he sees Elizabeth and Lucas have a relationship now. If they were clear about having a “relationship”, I would maybe think the same. Elizabeth has not once told Nathan that she is dating Lucas now or she has accepted a courtship with Lucas. Neither has Nathan been continually approaching her to declare his undying love and beg her to give them a chance or to go on a date and he hasn’t been giving her flowers or gifts in an attempt to woo her. He has respectfully kept his distance. It is mainly Elizabeth who has found reason to approach him. When she does, He honestly admit his love for her as a given. He doesn’t hide it. It is a matter of fact. No pressure is applied to return that love. I don’t think his love is confused with his desire to protect. He came to protect and ended up falling in love.
As I said, both men have conducted themselves honorably, but there can be only one or neither. That is Elizabeth’s choice. Hopefully, we can be happy for her if she has found genuine love after Jack. And if Hallmark follows true to form, once she has made her choice between two great guys, she will be happy with no regrets. And I just know, if you have two great guys, Hallmark is going to work things out great for the other one eventually. I hear they are both going to be in Hope Valley. Wouldn’t it be great to watch their own love story unfold?
Very well said. I really want Nathan for Elizabeth but man I loved that scene with Lucas and ally! That scene made me think if it does go the other way, I can be okay with it. But I really think Elizabeth is fighting her feelings for Nathan otherwise she wouldn’t care enough to be so angry and always approach him as she has been since season 6. Nathan’s actions make so much more sense to me now but I’d like him to be a bit kinder towards Lucas now. I’ve always thought there was something fishy about Lucas but maybe I was wrong so when Nathan does realize that as well I hope they can learn to be friends like rosemary and Elizabeth. Love love love this show !

I'm curious as to why she didn't run this time. She stayed. He moved toward her as he was saying it and she didn't even run. I think him saying her exact quote scared her though. It's why she got so mad at RM assuming that she said something to Nathan, but she hadn't. This isn't a look of a woman that doesn't love this man. If she didn't love him, she'd have told him especially after what she found out but she just can't.
They're making this a slow burn for a reason. They're making it to where she isn't saying it back, but not telling him she doesn't for a reason. They're giving them this hurdle for a reason.

@@emydel679 Oh, I know. It's been kind of a cruel season. Lucas fans would be left wondering why would they let Lucas be with Elizabeth this entire season just to end up with Nathan. (I as a Nathan fan believe they are just missing the slow burn romance, and the tiny moments with Nathan that show where her heart is) but I digress I still believe it's cruel. AND Nathan fans if Lucas is chosen would be left wondering why they led us to believe it was a love triangle, with all these tiny hints to look for, if she chooses Lucas. Why give us false hope and tell us Nathan is still in the triangle if it's one side. Even more. How cruel to not even give Nathan a chance, a date, anything of the sort.
If he never stood a shot they shouldn't be expressing that it's a love triangle. It should have been made more clear that Lucas was the final choice as it was very clear that Charles was never going to be Elizabeth's choice. But, instead, they keep bringing up all these moments with Nathan and Elizabeth, and these tiny, passionate moments and telling us the triangle isn't over. Even the last episode says, "Elizabeth makes her choice,"
Part of me believes that they wanted to show Elizabeth with Lucas and give Lucas fans these dates, this small romance as a way to give both Lucas and Nathan fans some stuff to be happy with. But, in the end, she chooses Nathan and that's when Nathan fans finally get their moments. It's kinda cruel. But I have known of shows to do that in big triangles as a way to say, "We appreciate the ship, here are some amazing moments, they do care about one another, but they're just not the endgame."

@@debrawooten4158 Personally I don't think that she purposely meant to allow this flirtation to escalate as it has , and I'm not a fan of the one sided triangle , but she has met a dilemma , a mental crisis that she wasn't as prepared for , seeing that she is a human being , a young woman that exemplifies good morals , kindness , a gentle spirit , who comes from well to do background , well.mannered and she holds herself to high standards , but she is " YOUNG " and she is easily prone to flattery , charming men, ( aka Billy Hamilton ) , refined men ( Charles ) and it often sways her right thinking and infatuation creeps in , and it messes up things for her ! She loves " too deep " and that can become a dangerous thing for the stable mind , if tragedy occurs , which it did with Jack dying ! She has not been her old self , and she's making certain decisions based off of hurt and pain ! She made the first move towards the new Mountie , when she saw him and ventured over to the jail and introduced herself and from then after they had brief encounters and I believe it was like tiny steps leading up to love between them.! There have been too many instances where she " looks for him " and the way her facial expressions and that gleam in her eyes , you cannot manufacture that , it comes from inside the heart and it's true love ! The trauma she has suffered with Jack passing , her unexpected pregnancy has shaken her faith , her spirit , and it causes her to be conflicted and when someone says something that doesn't agree with her , she easily gets angry and she lashes out ! What she is wrestling with I don't envy, for that is heart wrenching and it taxes the conscious mind , with Abigail gone and Jack , she feels abandoned , fear , mixed with emotions , and when Nathan finally opened. up and confessed that he loves her , she shuddered shuddered because she knew that she had to get out there before her heart melted and she could not control herself ! Rosemary said " oh my it's good that you got out of there because who knows what would have happened if you had stayed,Elizabeth said " I know but it was not nice how I left him there pouring out his heart like he did , I just feel so bad ! She is running away from the truth , what's inside of her heart ! She happily said to Rosemary . " I'm.having so much FUN with the saloon owner " , ......this is an escape for her and a safety blanket and she admitted that she doesn't know what she wants , I so mixed up , I just can't think. straight ! I could be wrong but I believe the infatuation bubble will be about to burst , because the gambler is suspecting his biggest fear , that she actually is in love with Nathan ! Finally, when Nathan said at the work site that he was not giving up on her , the gambler said " ok but you better be doing it for Allie and her and not for yourself " ! Then when he asked her " after. Nathan told you that he loves you......again , what did you tell him ? She replied " I said nothing and I just left " ! He left with a dejected look and I believe that bit will be he that will suggest a " happy medium " ... It's obvious that you are running from your heart which is with Nathan and that will make her see the truth and that will. Make his journey from being a mysterious. businessman into a really nice guy and a well liked member of the town ! I could be wrong !

It seems to me that Elizabeth never processed her anger at Jack's death, and at Jack himself for going to Fort Clay in the first place. There are a lot of complicated emotions in that anger, and I don't think she's really addressed it. Nathan brings that up for her, especially with these reveals, and until she deals with this deep anger and sadness she feels towards her loss of Jack, she will keep finding people around her (Rosemary, Nathan, etc) to be angry with. Soon, she will face her grief, and then we will see a breakthrough.

All I can say is this it's obviously who she is going to end up with in the very end. Nathan you can say whatever you want or try to support your theory why she isn't . And you can say it's wrong which is completely ridiculous. Nathan wanting to protect her and little jack because he felt like he is the cause of shortening another man's life. Which isn't true at all life is unexpected and although we don't know why things happen sometimes . They happen for a reason regardless if we understand them or we never do. Jack's purpose in life never was to fall in love but he did unexpectedly. And with that he was grateful enough to have the love people search or crave there whole lives . His duty his true calling was to be mountie and leave a legacy behind a grand one that will never be forgotten. Take that however you want to take it honestly I'm just being honest and realistic. Lucas is a good man with a good heart but he doesn't have Elizabeth heart. And I hope that he finds someone one day who will love all of him just as much he love them.
The fact that Nathan felt obligated to look after Elizabeth and her son is not uncommon, it’s a code among police, firemen and military and has been for many many decades, they look after their own and yes on occasion people in those communities who are looking out for a fallen comrade do fall in love and marry, it’s not uncommon, I am surprised at the lack of knowledge on this subject, Nathan didn’t do anything creepy at all, his character is a man of integrity, honesty to a fault and caring, he was right in not telling Elizabeth the situation as it wouldn’t have changed a thing and it would have opened the wound up again so to speak and caused her additional pain, the fact is that Jack and only Jack is responsible for his demise, he alone made the decision to try to save those recruits, a noble thing to do, but costly, that’s what hero’s do, they are risk takers!
All of the Lucas supporters always say that Lucas makes Elizabeth a better person. They have a mature relationship and he supports her in everything. What I see is a controlling and obsessive man. He stands in the background watching her every move. If she is not around he watches Nathan because he knows that where Nathan is Elizabeth will show up. All throughout seconds 6 and 7 everytime Nathan or Elizabeth would approach each other Lucas would show up out of thin air. Now that they are dating he is always in the background observing either one or both of them with a not so happy expression on his face. I would be happy and smiling to ( or at pretend to be) if I was in Elizabeth's shoes and I was in love with someone else that I was afraid to be with but I have another man who is rich wanting to wine and dine me to distract me from the pain in my heart.
Ummm have you even watched this season? Elizabeth has been the one who has taken the lead with her and Lucas. Not him. Yes he has taken her on dates but she found him and told him she was going to fallow the advice that she gave his mother about love, and told him she told nathan that she could not give him what he wanted, she grabbed his hand when he put it out at dinner, she cheers's to "us" at the picnic, she asks him to walk her home publicly after telling him she wants to share in all his joy and sarrow extending her hand out, she taps the seat and asks him to sit with her so they can talk and she leans in for a kiss that he stops. She literally says his name with a smile when she grabs nathan's hands thinking they are Lucas's. She is in love with Lucas. Shw cares for Nathan yes and she may love and care for him, but her heart is with Lucas.

Why does he retreat when Lucas tries to touch her? Is it you who sets out to show what you feel why? If you have feelings for someone, you always do it. Then I would like the writers to also grant us the opportunity to see a meeting between Nathan and Elisabeth where they can talk about what they feel, maybe they discover that they are just friends. I know that's denied.

Elizabeth wants to be in love with anyone but Nathan because losing him scares her to death. She lit up when Lucas came back after louisiana and was so excited to see him, she was not like that with Nathan. When Nathan asked her to dinner she was very hesitant it's cause she knew she had already made up her mind about him, but went cause it was all 4 going, more like friends and less like a date.Elizabeth, little Jack, Ally and Nathan ran Into Lucas and saw a woman getting off the stage coach (his mother) Elizabeth got jealous when she saw lucas hug her, her face said it all. asking him lucas ("whom might this be?" ) With her eyes. And when she found out it was his mother you could tell she felt mortified, then told Nathan she wasn't feeling well.
Helen confided in Elizabeth about lucas dad, Elizabeth was avoiding lucas when She told Nathan basically she doesn't want to be with him and he told her he loves her. Elisabeth didn't tell Lucas she wasn't seeing Nathan anymore until after they reconciled about his mom's confession, that when Elisabeth decided to take her own advice about love, shortly after her and Lucas got closer and closer
Something else that's resonated with me in episode 1 is "Lee tells Jesse that love is more than just an emotion or a feeling it's a choice it's the choice to choose to love and show love every day in your marriage." I little later on Elizabeth tells Rosemary in episode 3, I know I made the right 'choice" in not "choosing" Nathan, but I do not know that I have "chosen" to be with Lucas. This was after Nathan said I love you to her, then her and Lucas reconcile and she takes her own advice about true love therefore "choosing" Lucas.
I don't deny that she doesn't have feeling for Nathan. But I believe her heart is with Lucas.
Her guessing Nathan's hands were Lucas's doesn't say anything, now had she not of uttered lucas's name with a smile I might feel differently , or if she would of grabbed lucas's hands and then said "nope" and then grabbed Nathan's thinking they were Lucas's I might feel differently but that didn't happen.

Nathan arrives in the spring. Jack was born on Christmas Day. Also, I’m sure the Mounties would have heard about Elizabeth’s pregnancy.
I mean note that means that Elizabeth had a nine month pregnancy, and then the baby was a few months old by the time Nathan got there. There was an entire year for him to realize that Jack left behind a mother and son.

His second bad encounter with Lucas was after Lucas taught Allie a card trick when she skipped school and used that card trick to cheat the children at school out of their lunch, snacks, and money.

that look she gives him when he said he felt like he was betraying jacks memory i feel like its making her have more respect and love for him while at the same time being distressing because she is being reminded of her loss and how much it hurts to lose someone so "close to your heart" that it quote "tears you apart" so there's this real conflict going on in her but that's what makes good tension for story Desire vs Fear and Misbelief. she thinks if she lets "TRUE" love in it will just bring her more hurt. which reminds me of Anne of green gables attitude in the 1980s miniseries the continuing story where Anne says "it seems like everything I love gets taken away" Coincidently Anne is also Canadian and the Anne books (vastly different to the films though) were mentioned earlier in the series when Elizabeth gives Anne of the island to Minnie to read to Angela. by the way that book was published in 1915 so we should be at the beginning of the first world war though if you are wondering why it hasn't affected the mounties I looked it up and apparently the Canadian government actually banned mounties from serving overseas in the first world war though I guess other citizens could.

I have never felt more deceived in depictions of scene portrayals than in this love triangle with Elizabeth. I feel as though the writers were also playing hurtful games with my ❤ heart as well, not just with the character of Nathan. And I know that they are just very fine actors acting a part, but still the written story line depictions were deliberately incongruent with her final choice. Correct, I am not critizing the actors or acting, but the writers. Trying to captivate and fool your audience for ratings should only go so far and here the writers went way too far. I feel so strongly regarding the complete lack of compassion for not only the character of Nathan but for all of human decency in general that I felt compelled to share again. And no, this is not about a sore fan that the character of Nathan was not picked. It is all about the way the writers dragged this on and played with all the fan viewers. So sorry that I foolishly allowed myself to play along in watching at all. I have never been made to feel this strongly regarding deceiving 😕 writing ✍ in any other film or series that I have ever seen. Just wanted to share in the hopes that perhaps the writers may read this and somehow care. Big waste of my time in watching the love cruelity. Done with WCTH. Can catch my favorite actors in many other roles and in many other shows and movies that will not depict poor writing skills. Peace out!!

Edited: Though I'm #TeamLucas and think the E & L relationship is more mature and has been built on trust, open communication and definitely growing passion- this scene is proof /foreshadowing enough that we are heading to a conventional Hallmark ending pairing Elizabeth and the Mountie. Let's spare Lucas the pain and move on with N & E if that is so. I hope we see storylines and definitely a love story that's worthy of Lucas -he deserves it.
If one is to go by pure narrative building,, then I would say E & Lucas are endgame as Season 8 has taken so much time to show the relationship between them grow; even in the 9th episode. Love how they always talk about possible misunderstandings; give each other space when needed yet always let the other know they are there for the other . She still lights up and smiles around him even in the middle of pain in this last episode. I hate to see this all go down the drain. And objectively speaking, if season 9 is to be the journey of Elizabeth opening her heart to love and romance again, then every single step so far has been only with Lucas, slowly initiating things and pushing the way forward step by step. Which is why TeamLucas fans could be more disappointed-as so far Elizabeth has not openly indicated in any way that she has encouraged Nathan's love or romance this season. The only thing she is guilty of- if its right to use that phrase- is running/ walking away without having an open conversation; but perhaps she needs time for this

I so feel for Lucas. He has been nothing but wonderful to her, and also considerate of Nathan who doesnt even deserve it with his attitude and acting entitled and so on. Lucas just keeps his pain inside.

Do none of you remember, that jack never wanted a wife and family in the beginning. His father was a mounty who was killed and left his mother a widow and him and his brother without a father.
But he fell in love with elisabeth and she fell in love with him.. They both eventually accepted the risks that came with his job, and had an amazing relationship and love story.
But Honestly why do you team Nathan and Elizabeth fans think Jack would want her with another Mounty? Especially since what happened to him has now happens to Elisabeth and baby Jack.
Lucas and Elisabeth are the better match not just cause he's considered safer, it because they are each other's equal in every way, they truly bring out the best in one another and have a connection and foundation that is solid. I want to see them grow and see Lucas become a father just like we would have watched jack learn.,#lucabeth.

Okay I've been fed up with Elizabeth for quite some time now but this last episode has pushed me over the edge. SHE IS NIW TAKING HER UNJUSTIFIED ANGER OUT ON ROSEMARY! I MEAN COME ON THATS YOUR BFF RIGHT THERE! It makes me furious and sad. Elizabeth doesn't deserve anyone at this point!

Thier interaction was really not that bad her and Rosemary will be ok.. E is feeling so much right now. she feels betrayed by Nathan anyone can see that. She doesn't understand why he waited so long to tell her. It has stirred up so many emotions inside her pertaining to Jack.
I would feel the same way, if someone I knew who supposedly loved me kept something like that it would stir up so many feelings, and I would need to process everything I felt. That is what she is going through.

Ok, way, way at the beginning of WCTH, Elizabeth & Jack were having words about him being sent to Coal Valley basically to 'take care' of her. Elizabeth, trying to be an independent woman, said 'I can take care of my own stubbed toe, thank you very much'. So I think that's part of why she likes Lucas is because he treats her like an equal. They work together & compliment each other. They have sweet moments but also have disagreements which they talk out & resolve pretty quickly. There's not that chemistry with Nathan. She doesn't need him to 'take care' of her. When she ran & hugged Nathan, it was emotions from him being a Mountie, not so much that she was in love with him. Of course she cared because he's a person, but I think more was read into that than what was there. Either way, that was way in the beginning of them getting to know each other. Since then, Nathan may have become a friend while her & Lucas were building a relationship. As for the bachelorette game, she was nervous, didn't want to play, she hadn't really ever held hands with Nathan, so it was obvious she just guessed hoping it was Lucas, her smile & saying 'Lucas' said it all. It's time for Nathan to move on & let Elizabeth & Lucas continue. And yes, the scene with Allie in the Saloon, totally shows he's a great & caring guy. There's been so many comments about him being a Saloon owner & how he'd be with little Jack....well, there's a good example.
wow...I guess we see what we want to see depending on who we want for Elizabeth because I have a whole different take on this story., I see Elizabeth wanting Nathan to ask her out--remember when she told him if you're wondering why I went out with Lucas, it's because HE ASKED. Then when she thought he was killed, I think it traumatized her to learn how much feelings she really had for him. But, at the same time, a Mountie was killed, and she realized that in a split second, she could have lost another love--and that terrified her...so she is pushing Nathan away. She is deliberating pursuing a relationship with Lucas because she thinks he is a safer choice. Lucas is more like a good friend (like Charles was)--if he was the one, I don't think she could have passed on that kiss in the rain. And when Nathan told her I know you feel the same way about me, she didn't deny it...she didn't say "I don't...she said "I can't"--she is fighting it with everything she's got, but you don't love with your brain, you love with your heart. That's why she picked him in that game.

It is true that Elisabeth tells Jack this, but I remember they are arguing and screaming, because Jack knew that your destination (Port Fullerton) it was changed why Elisabeth's parents asked for. After she likes holding Jack protection gives her confidence and trust , like Nathan. In the woods Nathan was with her and the children in distress, Lucas in the saloon. I watch she was happy to have Nathan with her.

It's every thing you can't understand. Did Nathan say he would take care of her ?? The least he could have done was to disappear around, now go to her city, knowing that she lost her husband with a child in her belly and didn't say anything? Just hanging around and still having the audacity to say you love her? I don't know what the series is up to, with this "destiny" thing. Do you mean that the love of Elizabeth's life had to die for her to be with the guy who would have gone to her husband's place? That she can't make another choice, has to follow that path? That she is so helpless that she needs to marry a police officer to be protected? (Even Rosemary hinted at that). I don’t understand anything anymore, didn’t the producers think? Who wants to marry someone who will always remember the death of their old love? What will you remember that if the son's father had been different, he could have been at home? The story took a horrible turn, if it ends anyway I won't watch it anymore. Oh, and Lucas as always an angel, watch his conversation with Allie in this episode, where on earth would Nathan be mature at that point? It was very beautiful, he is always incredible. But I am upset and disappointed! (Not to mention the other characters, they all suck).

She doesn't need to choose the mountie just because he feels guilty about her husband's death. Come on! I really hope the writers can be more imaginative.

But following your logic Elizabeth and Jack shouldn't have turned out to be the super couple that they ended up being. When Elizabeth first went to Coal Valley (now Hope Valley) Jack was leaving there for another assignment somewhere else but her father arranged it with his superiors for his assignment to be cancelled so that he could stay there to protect her. Jack was furious. So basically it was arranged for Jack to take care of her and look at what a beautiful and loving relationship they ended up having.
@@dorothysampson7414 Jack was sent to Hope Valley, he didn't choose to go. He fell for Elizabeth because he saw that she was much more than a princess that needed protection. Season 1 is all about it. So the situations are totally different
@@dorothysampson7414 The story is totally different!! And btw if Daniel didn’t wanted to leave. Jack wouldn’t of left her in season 4 and season 5 and this triangle wouldn’t ever exist. And this is the only believable scenario the writers could come up with connect Nathan and Jack!!
@@thaisbarrosocorrea6948 the same could be true here. Nathan could’ve easily “protected her” without befriending her which I think was exactly his plan.
I think...If you rewatch season 6 you’ll see he never approaches Elizabeth. It is always her. So I think as he got to know her, he fell in love with her. He had a hard time telling her in season 7 because he felt like he would be betraying jack but by season 8 realized love is worth the fight. He didn’t actually kill jack. It was an unfortunate thing that happened. He’s realized it’s not actually his fault and jack is not coming back so why would it be so weird? It’s not like he was jack and Elizabeth’s friend and then made a move to replace him as soon as he died?
I think the creators of the show and actors have done a fantastic job of making the triangle in a way so that you could easily see both sides depending on your preference :)
The chemistry with Lucas is a million times better than with Nathan. She always looks like she is eating something sour when she talks to Nathan. She glows with Lucas.

Agree. I’m hoping Elizabeth chooses Lucas but after tonight I’m doubting she will. I’m still hopeful however..
The sour looks have only been from this season when she decided it would be too risky and too painful to lose another mounty. The previous two seasons there were a lot of flirtatious looks, and it was obvious she was interested, even though Nathan was acting reserved.

Really not liking Elizabeth very much anymore and it's really sad! You have run this storyline into the ground. First it was between Charles and Jack and now Nathan and Lucas. Like both characters and kind of wish they would both tell her enough and find someone who would actually treat them the way they deserve! :(
I find the Elizabeth character so annoying. Nathan would be wasted on her though it's obvious that is where it's headed. He should be with Fiona, who is alot more interesting. Don't really care who Elizabeth winds up with, just hoping it's not Nathan but know it will be.
