She hasn’t a clue about the history of Syria. She can’t force developer’s to build where they don’t want to. And houses have to be built where they sell. All these houses for immigrants, cos that is who will be living there. Immigrants aren’t Local people. She is getting in a muddle just trying to explain it. I think she should study the history of the Middle East. All she is doing is repeating something she has heard.
1.5 million new homes. Social housing? Private homes? A mixture? We had a housing problem 10yrs ago and the population has increased by 10million. If these houses are not for social rent or reasonable rent then its jot going to make a significant difference.
After the 4 years all the houses won’t be built and they will blame local councils for not doing them in time. They won’t meet the target and someone else will be to blame
1.5million homes in 4 yrs is very hard to do without skilled labour ready available i am a bricklayer and our trade is getting very thin on the ground not only mass house building but huge commercial project start ups and domestic builders on home projects will need them if the boom times are around the corner be interesting to see how this can be done
What she would have said is, now Assad has fallen the country is no longer at War and that refugees Asylum seekers are no longer in danger! Stay and anyone who wants to go back, we’ll pay.
I can’t believe this is the deputy prime minister 🤷♂️ It’s as though she won the job at the local bingo club! She has no clue what she’s talking about, just a fixed, lipstick ‘ don’t question me, of course I’m right’ grin. We’re all doomed!
I am going to sit back and laugh as this pathetic Labour party fail to hit a single one of their targets. Over the years I have voted tory Labour libdem ukip and last time Reform, I am not tied to any party but I can honestly say I have never seen such a useless bunch of clowns as these tossers.
So along with all these houses, are they going to add more infrastructure to support them like, doctors, schools, bin collections, transport etc. or do all those people need to suffer an increased workload?
Phillips must be a contender for broadcaster of the year apart from his inane questions his staccato delivery and consistently interupting he is in a class of his own
The discussion on housing was useless for its lack of imagination. We need new ideas for housing people. Inexpensive modular housing has come a long way, and some farmland could be freed up for that (might be a solution for those moaning about changes in inheritance tax). We need innovations in regulation of land use, application of innovations in construction. The panel seemed completely unaware of this. It was a joke.I can imagine a future where everybody's rooves are solared up, iron air batteries (or other chemistries) are used for storage, even water can be collected on this rainy island we have. Im nota fan of Trump but at least Elon Musk with his Boxabl partnership has some ideas in this department.
do uk citizens not need to get to live in peace and safety 🤔 can we also have a government that takes the interest of thier citizens please every thing she says other countrys must have is the oppiste of what we get
Phillips is such a stooge. Raynes made it clear that the plans are compulsory, yet Phillips couldn't grasp this basic concept. Homes need to be built and yet Phillips was doing everything in his power to frame her plan as bad.
I think Angie Rayner did a great interview. Timed out on the big question of housing crisis, rising population and immigration which was to her benefit, but overall thought was challenged and responded strongly. (I still don't think it likely the 1.5m homes will be achieved).
Very good interview - Phillips keeps putting Rayner on the spot without ever coming across as antagonistic. Rare sight these days.
Good point, though Rayner’s not exactly hard to trip up😊
Rayner, very good until she`s asked a question for which she has no scripted/rehearsed answer. Then clueless !!
Can we have politicians whove been to school, please?
She spent a lot of time at school on her back !!
She thinks un resolutions fix things 😂😂😂
Who have or who’ve not whove
Hearing Rayner saying several times that we need a political solution, makes me think first we need some politicians.
I like to imagine Keir watching and whispering "For f-sake Ang" when his deputy says "We have plenty of housing" for the second time.
Rayner is out of her depth.
I almost felt bad for her.
She sounds more like Intel Lady than Intel Lady! 🤣
She hasn’t a clue about the history of Syria. She can’t force developer’s to build where they don’t want to.

AR, for a Deputy PM, talks in such a superficial manner. I feel i never learn anything i didnt already know.
Trevor was like a cat pawing an injured mouse with Rayner . No wonder he wants her back soon. It would be funny, if she wasn`t so sad !!
After the 4 years all the houses won’t be built and they will blame local councils for not doing them in time. They won’t meet the target and someone else will be to blame
Trevor, she's not got a clue, I'm from Tameside! Full of piss and wind. Building houses for immigrants who we can not afford.

Trevor Phillips is absolute gold.
I've heard that "Assad wasn't exactly good for the Syrian people."
I can’t believe this is the deputy prime minister 🤷♂️ It’s as though she won the job at the local bingo club! She has no clue what she’s talking about, just a fixed, lipstick ‘ don’t question me, of course I’m right’ grin. We’re all doomed!
Good news she has said we have plenty of housing in the UK. No need to build new housing then.
Can somebody please explain to Angela Raynor that ‘PLENTY’ and ‘NOT ENOUGH’ are the OPPOSITE thing to each other? ❌🧠
His been doing it for over 40 years.
Where is Syria Angela ?
haha!
😂
Yeah well all the Europeans that left due to Brexit were also good and needed but nobody wants to be open and honest about that self harm
Isn't it a terrorist organization according to the UK Gov website that has taken over? where does that lead to?
I am going to sit back and laugh as this pathetic Labour party fail to hit a single one of their targets.

95% clean energy... there's zero chance, unless Keir mandates going back to an equine powered economy
"Wiv" "ver" "oforaties"
And this is our Deputy PM.
No reason now for Syrians to claim refuge status
Phillips must be a contender for broadcaster of the year apart from his inane questions his staccato delivery and consistently interupting he is in a class of his own
I'm assuming these are being built on farmland...
Dude say's let's be optimistic about Syria!!..........sure!...with Al Qaeda and ISIS in charge what can possibly go wrong!
'Let me say it simply'. Thats all she is capable of.
yes, but she's been 'very clear ' about it :)
@@justinowdfart8155 she’s clearly simple
Who is actually building these houses?
Not the government
Now let's see what happens next for the Syrian people.
Just praying for the Syrian civilian population.

Rayner ...very embarrassing.
Where is David Lammy??
do uk citizens not need to get to live in peace and safety 🤔 can we also have a government that takes the interest of thier citizens please every thing she says other countrys must have is the oppiste of what we get
Makes me wish Paxman was active or Andrew Neil to grill the government.
Trevor Phillips is good
Ms clueless

*Rayner*
Maybe because she didn`t answer a non rehearsed/scripted question !
he wanted clarity, and when she provided it, she came off well, and when she didn't she came off unwell
No homes need to be built and mustn't be built. If there is not enough housing then people need to leave the UK.
I think Angie Rayner did a great interview. Timed out on the big question of housing crisis, rising population and immigration which was to her benefit, but overall thought was challenged and responded strongly. (I still don't think it likely the 1.5m homes will be achieved).
It was a car crash. Disengenous responses and she is totally out of her depth. Typical of the mediocrity of politicians in 2024.
She did a great interview are not well
Phillips always plays hard against centerist/left wingers but always tugs at his forelock to right wingers.
Rubbish
