  • The metal siding, building wrap, trim and other materials are delivered, allowing me to start the siding on my pole barn build. The falling snow gives the video a seasonal feel as I tack on the building wrap with my air stapler and then start installing the metal siding. Thanks for watching.

I am looking to enclose a lean-to on my steel building but using wood framing like a pole barn. Since I am going to be using wood framing, would I still need the wrap if I was going to do closed foam spray insulation?

Hi Bent, From what you're describing, it seems to me you still need the strapping so you have something to attach your metal siding to. Hope this helps. Peter at the Reboot.

@@TheWoodlandReboot Sorry...just saw your reply. I was actually asking about the "Typar" you were installing and whether this would be necessary if I was going to have spray foam insulation. Thanks.

I like the colour choice of the panels . Looks good . I see that you didn't have to cut the width of the front panels . Did you design the building that way to get full panels instaled that way ? Atleast you don't have to deal with very long panels from top to bottom .

Thanks Henry. I was able to order the panels with the correct length based on my dimensions ... as long as my measurements are accurate. Concerning panel width, I did not take that dimension into account concerning door and window locations. Keep the comments and questions coming! Peter

Ok thanks . Enjoying this build very much . Always looking forward to see what you have done . Question . How did you know the exact measurements for the large door ways. Don't know if you already have the doors . If you do than you should know the exact width and height to make the door openings . Or are you just make an opening that you want and order the doors to fit . I had a normal garage door opening but it was too narrow and short to put my boat in . Had the garage door guy , measure the width that I needed and I made the rough opening . He then made a door to fit . Just wondering what you're doing . Thanks . Yea I know , I ramble on at times . LOL

Thanks Henry. Concerning the main garage door, I decided in the design phase on a door that will be 12' wide and 10' high. I was going to buy it new; however, I lucked into a used 12x10 door a few miles from my place. Hope you're having a good Holiday season. Peter

Good question. I was not able to find a good used 8'x7' garage door so I put the idea on the back burner for now.

You forgot to tap or liquid applied waterproofing over your staples.
