This is part 4 of my hike on the Cape Wrath Trail, day 11 to day 13. I did this hike as part of a challenge that I made up called the Scottish Adventure Triathlon - cycling, paddle boarding, and hiking from the bottom to the top of Scotland.
If you want to know anything about the kit, planning, food, logistics, for this hike... I made a whole separate video on that so go check it out • Hiking 370km on the Ca...
Thanks for watching ☺️

Brilliant again Sarah. No way I could do this. That road drag looked an absolute killer. And those funking midges 😬. I was scratching just sat here watching it. Looking forward to the next one. You’re a star mate. Inspirational 😎👍🙏🏻
Excellent as usual, Sarah. Mad of course, but utterly brilliant! Keep it going......
Fallen in fascination with An Teallach by the sound of it. Epic mountain
Ive watched afew capewrath trail videos and yours comes out top 👍👍
Very kind 🙏🏻😊
You created amazing work here, simply wonderful and entertaining. Love it.
Thank you 😊🙌🏻
50 minutes worth of pure viewing pleasure. The best things in life are worth waiting for. As for missing the schoolhouse .....................I felt for you , I really did. That's why someone invented the word ' gutted ' for these kinds of situations.
Literally! Haha. Thanks for watching 😊
Another amazing video Sarah. Don't know how you survived the midges. The Scottish midge is brutal. I remember being in Gairloch camping and the midges were so bad we shoved the whole tent in the back of the car and drove to a windy spot to eat breakfast to escape the wee blood suckers!
😂 don’t blame you, first time in my life I’ve been searching for windy spots to camp on!
Thankyou for sharing it all Sarah, slayer of 3,256,887 midges. Sadly you are still 50 short of the gold medal........
😂😂😂
Fabulous! What an adventure! Thanks for sharing!
Finally the sun wanted to accompany you on your journey.
Sarah you are an absolute hoot. Compulsive viewing. 😊
Sarah, you are an inspiration. My partner Jill and I are hooked on your adventures. How you can remain so cheerful and positive all of the time we really don't know. Seeing you discover the School house bothy after that nightmare in the tent almost brought us to tears. Can't wait for part 5.
Looking forward to this later, thanks for 1. Walking it. 2. Editing it, and 3. for generally being a delight to watch! 😀👍
In that chip shop you should have asked for a deep-fried Mars Bar Sarah. 😃
Another excellent video 👌🏼 I’m honestly not wanting these to end ! 👏🏻
Nor me, it’ll feel like it’s fully over, even though I finished the trail 6 months ago 😅
So when do you start the North to South walk? Because how ever many episodes you are doing it is not enough. Get back out there.
Absolutely superb. However, nearly gave me a bloody heart attack at the ruin. Well, that's my adrenaline rush for the day over, you daft mare! Stay that way though!
Scotland is absolutely stunning ! Enjoying the adventures of your journey and your sense of humour. Cheers
Isn’t it!!! 😍 Thank you for watching 😊😊
Late to watching these but I'm getting the shivers watching the midge situation. Flashback city 😅 Great channel. The extent you've gone to is impressive 👍🏻
Another epic film of your journey, i'm amazed that you have managed to carry the huge rucksack throughout midgey attacks, blizzards, bogs, river crossings and occasional scottish summer day. Enjoying you craziness as usual. PS. can i have my headphones back...... 😉
Thank you for sharing your adventures with us all, Sarah.
This is my favourite one so far 👍
Ken cairn had me laughing out loud. And those spiders were insane. Looking forward to the next stage. Katie
Every day Sarah gets more and more crazy. another 5 days solitary and she will go absolutely nuts... :) The question is will Sarah make it to the end or loose a plot and turn into a flower or something.
…. Or a bog monster
Another great video Sarah. I can imagine that this editing is taking longer than the trek itself. Your hard work is appreciated x
That house does look like the haunting of Scotland. Great wilderness around their though.
Sarah to midges: "Ha Ha Suckers". Next morning, midges to Sarah: "Who's the sucker now....?"!
😂😂😂 you’re not wrong! And they brought reinforcements
Absolutely stunning river at 39 minutes, I would be in there hiding from the midges
A Compass is a must. Skin so Soft. Cream for midgets. And a Poncho over the top. With a Bunge around the waist
You say 'Thanks for watching' at the end of your video like it's amazing someone wants to watch you. You're amazing and thanks for being someone I want to watch.
Loved it all again, your special, thank you.
Yet again, brilliant vlog!
Chocolate Boost mode Sarah is brilliant!!!! Thanks for making me laugh and for the amazing video 😍"Get off Me!!!"
What happened to Oykel! Not a mention. Also, don't fret about searching for your pole bag in midge ville, just chuck em in your side pocket for now. Hindsight, a wonderful thing 😊.
You have more enthusiasm than 4 people. every time you throw that monster pack on your back, my legs hurt. lol
These videos fly by, you're so engaging and funny to watch, well done lass🙂
Hats off to you for doing it that's quite some achievement. Also, you are brilliantly bonkers to watch 😂👍
Brilliant looking forward to next one 👍 dam midge’s
Amazing to share the next leg of your adventure - and a perfect choice of music tracks to go with it. Thanks.
Stunning filming and editing Sarah what an adventure. You have made some for ever memories. Great effort. Love to watch your videos thanks for sharing.
Loved it as usual sarah very proud of our daughter you are just like DAD lol😂 with mums common sense You made mum jump at the ruin i knew you was going to do that 😂 so i was expecting it,,, you are a super star with the pterodactyl flying midges. Bless you!! . We must get together for a weekend camping and walking try to get in touch lol, we will have lots of food in the fridge lol, if you want to see mum & Dad for a camping weekend 😂😂😂😂 loved you video so much stay safe see you GAIN SOON, ps the cream you ordered has arrived, let us know where to send it. 😘 Mum & Dad (adopted.) xx
Citronella candles in a tin helps with midges, when you wake up burn in vestibule.
the home alone bit at 28:18 was brilliant
Sarah, try using a Thermacell for your future outback adventures. I've used various models over the years and they are excellent for mosquitos so maybe good for those flying Velociraptors.
You’re the second comment I’ve seen saying this! Going to have to look these up, my balcony at home is a nightmare - bonus if it can come hiking and camping!!
Brilliant video, will do this one day
I am so enjoying this series of vlogs! Well done Sarah. So impressed.
Thanks for sharing this amazing hike with its views, you have a strong spirit. Looking forward to your next - all the best!
Another belter thanks sarah
Love it, so good. Thank you for sharing some more amazing views and banter.
already looking forward to the next one😊
the bird calling in flight at 44.30 was a Goshawk and that was a really good sighting. Dai iawn! Well done for getting a shot of it in flight. Looking forwards to the rest of your journey.
Oh cool! I wondered what it was, thanks for teaching me! 😊
Love your humour and way of thinking also your video editing and you just being you atvb jimmy 😎😎👍👍
Your mad as a ships cat Sarah, but it is so good to watch. Thanks.
Those midgies were absolutely insane in the membrane
Loved this - so entertaining and you have my full admiration.
Took me a few vids to get used to your monologs....but once I did...I realized you are a brilliant traveler and narrator on camera. Good lord Scotland is beautiful. So are your videos. Thank you so much...
Good stuff, it is an amazing adventure.
Omg this was amazing 🤩 really well done looked tough especially the road part…. I know that pain with the midges, we did a midge dance when waiting for them to serve us fish and chips, the midges eat us alive lol 😂
you totally made me jump at the ruin lol 😂 and yay to Ken the cairn, had that song in me head rest of the afternoon, can’t wait for the next video, fab video 🤩🏕🏔
Very entertaining upload those midges are nasty little things thanks for sharing
I’ve watched it now. That was brutal for you by the looks of it. Next time you start doubting yourself just remember what you’ve achieved/accomplished/conquered. You really are an inspiration ⭐️🌟⭐️🌟⭐️
Hiked in August once no couple of times midge fests were so bad I vowed not to hike long distance between June and end September, but a few mini trips coastal trips in that midge period as the wind on clifftops blow them away!
Another fantastic upload Sarah you really are an inspiration. Thanks for sharing.👍🏼
They say that you should always have a good life/work balance. Well, hiking is all about the pleasure/pain balance. Those beautiful opening shots of sunshine and blue sky reflecting off the amazing views are worth every midgie, maybe... or not. Well, worth something anyway. Keep going :)
Absolutely raving bonkers, what great entertainment, really enjoyed this ❤️
Yay an upload I am so excited! You are the one who inspired me to start long distance hiking. Hiked for 2 hours today and have been keeping that up for a few weeks. Going to keep pushing myself so I can hike as long as possible, and eventually I want to do long trails like you!
Sarah yelling"don't feed me a boost!" Is exactly what I needed today 🤣
The video was well worth waiting for, the views as usual were outstanding. I'm not scared of midges, but I don't think I'd cope with as many as what you had to put up with, such a pity about that missed chance of the bothy lol. August do not dooo, (note to self) thanks for the hint.
That dip seemed as though it cheered you up and I'm sure you felt refreshed afterwards, going by that little jig you did towards the end 😄.
Bring on part 5 👍
Great job, Sarah. Beautiful filming and music. Well-done
Some seriously wonderful scenery. Great vid (as usual) Thank you.
Fantastic effort and achievement. Your video's are brilliant and you are so funny. Cheers
Thanks a million 😊🙌🏻
@@FitforAdventure your very welcome.
Nice videos :)
Ur a little bit crazy and very fun to watch.
Keep on living
Enjoying the opportunity to watch these videos. Just so fun. Take care.
Been looking forward to part 4, great midwinter viewing. You put so much effort in to this trip, and are so entertaining, will keep a lookout for future videos also.
I can't handle the bugs, especially the spiders 😫 lol. I'm planning on spraying all my gear with permethrin. Dunno how well it's gonna work.
I have been waiting for part 4 since you released part 3. Amazing energy as always. Midges and spiders looked horrible. Waiting for part 5 now. All the best.
Hiya just wanted to say how much I enjoy your videos. You really entertain me. I hope everything is going ok. Can't wait for part 4 xx
Loving your journey! And now all trail videos need a welsh accent 🏴 lived in Inverness for years and would love to do this walk 😍 but grew up in Wales so also dying to do the coastal path!
Great video as ever. Those midges would drive me bonkers.
I know what you mean about the squeaky backpack, I’ve got an old Karrimor that speaks like hell and gets right on my nerves when I’m on my chinstrap and knackered
2 things seem to make mine squeak - being over filled, and when I’m knackered and walking like something from Thriller 😅
Excellent series.. loving your vids, them midges are relentless!
Thank you Sarah, utterly brilliant yet again!! Oh, remember for the credits on the next one - Script - me. Well, not actually me, I mean you.....
Brilliant, jut bloody Brilliant , thanks for sharing this awesome adventure 😀 👏
Fantastic film. Don't ever change. Happy Valentine's. Love Richard.
You are the funniest vlogger, adventurer I follow Sarah! That was superb!Thank you so much!
The midgey scene around your backpack is the stuff of nightmares, it brought me a horror film level of anxiety and desperation!
Just came across your videos and now binge walked all the cape wrath videos. Lol. Excellent job and for sure August always the wrong time to be in the Highlands! Last week May early June is the best time to hike in Scotland.I was surprised in your gear review you didn't say you had a satellite tracker like Garmin Inreach. Parts of where you were hiking cell reception is non existent...would have hate you to have twisted your ankle spinning around in the bogs! Love your mad cap sense of humour and adventure and honest narrative of what it's like to be in the wild. Well done cutty sark!
Great video - I'm really enjoying this series. It’s so spooky what you said at the end re midge repellent. At some point during the video when you were mentioning midges, YT popped an advert in for some skanky earwax removal tool! I was thinking that they would be far better off putting more relevant ads in such as for midge repellent or an advert for chaffed chuff cream, pissy underwear refreshing spray, a travel size skid removal detergent or something similar. Just a thought 😆. ATB Hambo 🙏💐
You bloody life saver, something to watch later today. Thank you.
Absolutly brillant Sarah, throughly entertaining as always! Keep at it!
Brilliant, you were at your very best Sarah, well done!
I recall my bag creaking on the west highland way and it created this sort of tune which was stuck in my head too. I thought I was the only one 😂
Amazing Sarah once again
Fab views, reminds me of many family holidays, hiking, fishing and loosing pints of blood to the locals. That first view of sulven is mint.
Thought it was suilven, but you're too far south.
The time and effort you put into these vidyos Sarah must be all consuming but the joy you give us is well worth it,better than christmas. Almost kicked my beverage over in the ruins scene.Nutter!!
Fantastic again. Sarah - those midge looked fierce (and the spiders worse !). Not sure when you did the walk in August but if memory serves me right I was in Skye towards the end of the month (the weather was fantastic - sorry !;). I felt your pain and despair on the road section - nothing worse . Looking forward to the next part 👍
Take care
Murray
Ps I spray permethrin on the tent (and nearly all my gear) in spring - not picked up one tick since doing this ( which is good as I routinely picked between 20-30 off me every year prior to discovering permethrin :):)
sarah, im waiting for part 5, lol, its been weeks. lol. 😊
Brilliant
Brilliant best one yet your almost there I’m planning rest day when I get to Ullapool your getting good sunny weather thanks again for sharing your walk
Excellent to see more of your trip, Made my Sunday 😁
Enjoy dude!
I enjoyed watching this. Apart from your brilliant humour, the production and music are great too. Last night I watched one of your mountain boarding videos from a while back, this later vlog was much slicker. Your video production skills are top and just getting better and better..
I remember that fish+chip shop. A salvation after a long drive north. I went with the battered sausage and battered haggis, makes me hungry thinking about it.
