I agree. I was disappointed with Zero. It has great fight scenes of course but the magic of RVB wasn't there. This is right here I can see if feel like RVB. They should do this more often rather putting it too serious. We need jokes and standing around talking.
Well theres no real plot but hey better than Zero at least. I highly doubt it will revive the series but at the very least it wont kill it faster.

As everyone else has said, this is the best thing these characters have yet done. If the old RvB is gone, then just do this. Drop the action bits.
Or keep the action bits but add the good jokes. Season 18's jokes were made of paper. Very tearable.

The actual RvBZ is a continuation of the series after a lot of time has passed, this video was like the old side stories, like "That's how voting works" or "Caboose visits the Halo Reach campaign" as examples that come to mind immediately.

This was never framed as season 19, they said from the first time they release information about this that it's a non-canon spin-off focused more on comedy and showing us more of the characters goofing around

Okay THAT was a good one at the start "When does a joke become a dad joke anyway? When it becomes a-parent." come on, that one was legitimately funny. Honestly the last one went over my head for a few seconds, i had to think about it since i was starting to join their band wagon of it's just got to stop already. But lol honestly that's what made it funny.

This woulda been a funny concept for a fight scene. Legit just do a fight scene similar to how they were done last season but have Axel cracking dad jokes while they do. Coulda gone both ways, they get to make a cool fight and we get a bit of comedy that's closer (but not exactly) to how RvB used to be.
Honestly I feel like if the episode were longer it would have been great. Axel's jokes were top notch to include into a fight.

@@spiritbear6674 Yeah Torrian did but idk about the other fight animators. But the point still stands, if they had RvB:Z like this at release, they could've made their over the top fight scenes with this kind of over the top mini stories so pretty much everyone gets what they want.
Don't give them ideas - 'cool ideas for fight scenes' is why Zero is the way it is.

Another great episode, definitely the funniest 1 with the new characters. Been enjoying the 2 new series and characters overall, the originals are always going to be something special but I'm really enjoying the new life RvB is getting by changing things up. Plus the action is fantastic.
Mhm. The spinoff of Zero deserves the Red Vs Blue label more than Zero, because it actually feels like it. Shatter Squad is beginning to grow on me.

I like this as it’s own spin-off honestly a lot better still want the next season of RVB to be the Original characters though even if they got rid of Joel I still want them they could get a new voice actor for caboose but I see that being somewhat of a problem since they need to have the same voice as caboose though I don’t doubt people are out there that can do it

I feel like if Zero didn't limit itself to 10 minutes and instead did the normal cartoon 20 minutes episodes and mixed it serious action and story with the side moments of the squad bonding as a family it would be a more enjoyable watching experience and more appealing as a RvB series but that aside these themselves are fine I like it's vibe.

I'm glad they're not doing the fake machinema from last season and just going full proper animation.
There's plenty of parts in this which is machinimated, you've just not noticed it because unlike the older seasons where there was a clear difference between machinimation and animation, they're using Unreal Engine for both, which allows for a seemless transition between the two
@@AdvancedEon But in this there's no in Halo stuff they used like in og RvB where they hold their guns low, they just replecated it last season poorly and very janky. I may have the proper definition wrong but I thought Machinima is filming in game whilst this is entirely animated. Unless you're saying they made a game kinda thing for walking/running scenes?
@@SephticMI They've used Unreal Engine to make what is basically a game to make the machinimated parts in this. When Axel walks in at the beginning is a good example of a machinimated part
@@SephticMI realistically yes. With this they’ve gone for a more Freelancer feel to it rather then trying to emulate BGC. I agree with you in that their attempts at sort of ‘faking’ using the game models look very janky while slipstream said it allowed for more seamless transition. Though I’d say skip the middle man at that point and just do it like here

It’s just not Red vs Blue if that makes sense, the main reason Zero wasn’t popular was mainly because it was a full season of rvb that was full of cameos and diminished the roles on some of the classic characters, the story is very treasure hunter type and some of the characters felt off, other than that it was interesting just don’t expect this kind of thing the season cause it isn’t rvb more like a side story like MIA or Recovery 1
