This is such a time travel for me right now.
We booked an all-inclusive trip to the DR but we realised we don't like those kind of vacations. So we packed our stuff, rented a shitty car and drove all the way to Samaná, booked a room in a little bed and breakfast in a supersmall town and had the beach right next to us.
We saw taratulas (I wanted to pet one until a friend, who lived there at that time, told me they are able to jump), drank coconut water directly out of the fresh coconuts, had the best food ever and snorkled all the time.
And I learned from the people there that you don't need very much to be happy.

- 6:22 OMFG. I was in Zimbabwe in the middle of the bush 10 years ago...I hopped in shower and next to my feet was this critter. It's called a Scorpion Spider. Well, that's how I found the images on google way back then.
Needless to say, being scared of spiders, I nearly had a heart attack 😅
Wicked place, going to Mexico, Guatamala, El Salvador, Costa Rica in November will have to head back and do the Caribbean Islands in the future and Dominican Republic definately on the list :)
Hey Louis. That spider-like creature in the caves is in the Order Amblypygi. They're commonly known as whip-scorpions and are completely harmless :)

Debo decir que las tomas están bellísimas y sensacionales, pero estoy un poco decepcionada de la información de este video, se quedo corto con explorar esa zona, la playa donde hizo el snorkeling se llama Playa Frontón y en la cima de la montaña tiene una de las mejores vistas de República Dominicana, aparte de que en ese lugar esta la una vía ferrata del país. Por último esa zonas tienen unas vistas increíbles pero no es la mejor playa como el dice en el video, para descubrir las mejores playas tendrías que andar muchos kilómetros.
Me alegro mucho que hayan tenido la oportunidad de explorar un 10% de zona turística del país.
