    • @otaviofrn_adv

      True.
And the NBA became a worldwide phenomenon before the NFL. Here in Brasil (original with an S) the NBA has been broadcasted on TV (terrestrial and/or cable [streaming, etc]) without interruptions since the late 1980's, our first commentary team on site for a game was in the game 7 of the 88 finals.
Stern might've not played a game in his life, but his vision as the executive head of the league is a major reason for stuff like this becoming real.
We, in our history, hosted preseason games and countless other events, with all time greats of the league such as Gary Payton coming here.

I had the privilege of shaking the hand and exchanging a few words with Mr. Stern. He was so soft spoken, humble, and i told him I didn't want to approach and bother him by asking for a picture this man said to me we are one in the same, human, of course you can have a picture with me...this is extremely heartbreaking and I will never forget that moment we shared...RIP Mr. Stern.. :(
