The popular vocal siblings of Carnatic music Shanmukhapriya and Haripriya had their novitiate from their father Sri V. V. Subbharam who is a post graduate in music. They have also had the benefit of advanced training under the tutelage of the musical siblings of the previous era Kalaimamanis Radha and Jayalakshmi. They are now under the scholarly guidance of Sangita Kala Acharya Professor T. R. Subramaniam. Blessed with facile fluent voices, their synchronized singing with performances planned on a sound structure from the foundation to the ceiling, total involvement and absolute laya and shruthi control have elevated them to the top rungs in the sphere of South Indian music. Their repertoire in the genre of devotional music that includes many divine composers like Bhadrachala Ramadas, Annamacharya, and the Haridasas of Karnataka is remarkable and their musical expression has splendid bhakthi consciousness that has catapulted their popularity quotient to the maximum level. They have toured extensively all over India and abroad and are the recipients of many awards and titles among which ‘Isai Peroli’, ‘Nada Bhooshanam’, ‘Sangeetha sarada’ and the ‘Yugadi Puraskar’ are but a few. They have the honour of being the Asthana Vidhooshis of Sri Sringeri Sarada Peetam, Sringeri. They have released several cassettes and CDs that have found immediate appreciative response from music lovers and connoisseurs of the precious art form of Carnatic music.

In Tamil and Malayalam Piramal means God and later King. There was a function in Kerala where one person from Pillai(Malayala), Kurup, Kaimal and Kartha will be coronated in Kudalmanikkom Temple near to Kochi to the position of Lord Narayana/Padmanabha. He will wear the SHANKA and CHAKRA. This is a 15 day function and conducted by a Brahmin (Azhvanchery Thamprakkal) who is the representative of Lord PARASHURAMA.
At the end of 15th day of the function this person who is a deity i.e Lord NARAYANA will be carried on palanquin by Kings of Travancore and Cochin accompanied in front and back by KERALA BRAHMINS carrying lights.
The next function is that THE ENTIRE KERALA WILL BE GIVEN AS DANA TO THIS DIETY BY KERALA BRAHMINS TROUGH THEIR HIGHEST REPRESENTAIVE.
We never had Sanyasis ruling us as in other part of India, strange because Adi Shankara if from Kerala.
It is because of this function that KERALA is called GODS OWN COUNTRY.
Our parents and our community is regarded as DEVAS.
We were marrying (from 200AD to 1800AD) TULU BRAHMANIS. We also married the Queen of Travancore and it is our child that became the King.
We also had the status of Lord Narayan which is very unique in all over India/World. I have a strong feeling that the mummies of these NARAYAN's may be preserved in the B-Volt of PADMANABHA SWAMY TEMPLE which is in controversy for opening.
