Great stuff does not do that justice. The complexity and variety in that piece of music is amazing. It's amazing that it could be created by GD and amazing that Ali could carry that off with such aplomb. Just listen, I guess the title was somewhat prophetic.
See a lot of musicians who play bagpipes also play the metal flute as well. Is this just a coincidence or are they alike in terms of finger placement and movement?
Hi Jason, the metal flute is called a Low Whistle, many Scottish players like it for its versatility, as it can play beyond the range of notes of the bagpipes, and a lot of the techniques transfer between both. Likewise with Irish Flute and Uilleann Pipers they usually play Low Whistle too.
So sad that you had to go Gordon but the music you left us… legendary
Wonderful performance! RIP Gordon Duncan
I really like this one! Yall come on down to Houston, Texas and jam for us.
What I don't get is how the audience members can sit still through this incredible tune.
audience isn't real, it was added :)

Martin Laird because it beautiful instrument that is not the bagpipes....a break is so nice.
beautiful and haunting... lends another level of Celtic wonder to dominant sound of the Pipes
