With this single, Madonna surpassed Elvis Presley for the most top ten singles in the rock era (36 I believe). When someone told her this, she replied, "Really? Do me favor. Give my father a call and let him know. He's never impressed with anything I do."

@@roger1296 I think her Father said that or allegedly because he didn't want her to be "Bigheaded". She was very lucky because Bjorn Ulveaus and Benny Anderson (The Bearded Guy) are very territorial about how their music is used. They used Gimmie Gimmie Gimme for this song. Her Assistant had to fly to Sweden to play the sample. Also she was paying homage to Saturday Night Fever.

Jovaughn, Madonna is actually a trained dancer. That's what she was studying as a 18yr old in NYC. Wait till you see some of live performances. Also while not a good actress she fought for the role in the movie Evita (It's a fantastic movie based on the Tony Award winning play) and she won best actress golden globe and she sang the Oscar winning so g from Evita. She went through extensive vocal Training in order to play Eva Peron. So she sound cometely different through all stages of her career. Personally I find her voice to sound best on her ballads.

She's the Queen of Pop, no matter what others female artists are trying to manipulate the charts now with a big help of radio programers and the music enterprise. It was suuprising that Hung Up didn't reach #1 in the USA. Radio programers, in the United States, I heard, had blocked Madonna since the the New century. She's still making very good music and she's a VERY GENUINE MUSIC LEGEND ALIVE.

USA programmers blocked her since American life in 2003! Hung up reached no.7 on the USA charts due to singles sales. People loved the song it sold 1 million in the states abs 9 million worldwide making it her highest selling single. If the USA only did sales and not radio listeners plus singles sales hung up would of been no.1 for 2 weeks and 4 minutes which peaked at no.3 would of been no.1 for 3 weeks

She joined a band (I forgot the name) then eventually made her own tape & got DJ's to play it & she was off to the races.

Madonna was a dancer (professionally trained) before she was a singer. The video was taped while she was recovering from a broken collar bone and ribs due to a fall off of a horse. The opening scene of Madonna walking into the dance studio and dancing in pink tights pays homage to the 70s disco film 'Saturday Night Fever.' In fact, the album is a modern disco album that not only samples Abba but Donna Summer. If you like 'Hung Up', I think you'll like the rest of the album, which is superb and a fan favorite. The Confessions Tour for that album is legendary.

3:28 What makes Madonna so singular is her ability to do so much… People wrote her off when she started out, and even after she was a star (and still do), but she is THE blueprint, especially for female artists. And I’m not sure there’s been anyone with the global cultural impact she’s had, which is why I’m always kinda floored whenever people don’t know about her. A legend 🫶🏽

Madonna is first and foremost a dancer. She is the greatest live performer of all time. You MUST react to some of her concert performances. You will be BLOWN AWAY. Not exaggerating. This was great. Btw. She is in her 50's here and recovering from 7 broken bones from a horse fall, so she isn't dancing crazy like she can. Abba has never let anyone sample their music....except Madonna.

It's crazy how long Madonna's been around! She is actually 62 yrs old today, and she's still making music today. I think her latest release was in 2019 (!) and she still LOOK GOOD aswell.

Madonna is the dancing queen. She's topped the dance charts for years and so many of her biggest hits are about dancing. Her tours are practically a non-stop dance extravaganza - One of my favorite tour/dance moments ever is Music Inferno from her Confessions Tour - Check it out if you get a chance! Madonna - Confessions Tour - ruclips.net/video/liXbh4lZRmk/видео.html The intro is long, but oh so worth it.

Thank you for reacting to this! 😄 Whenever I watch Madonnas concerts and videos from the 00's and onwards I'm in awe of her strength, versatility, discipline and ambition. Very few performers male or female can do what she does for so many years and still keep pushing to top themselves! 👑 #queenofpop

This song was made using the base of the old ABBA song "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)"... If you think that song was made in 1979, it's still pretty modern 😊

The ABBA song that was sampled was Give Me Give Me Give Me (A Man After Midnight).
Madonna broke her collarbone, 3 ribs and a knuckle by falling off a horse on her 47th birthday a few weeks before she made this music video. Her bones were not completely healed and she had to use painkillers. But talk about
    dedication and commitment.
