I only wish I had found your channel sooner! I took two classes at an LYS, but you're helping me put what I learned together and make it all more practical. Thank you for all you've done! 😉 I only hope my slow, clunky knitting will evolve like yours has! Best wishes for a happy, productive fall season!💜
Thank you so much for an easy and comprehensive demonstration. I always hated knitting, but then discovered Continental knitting a few months ago and am absolutely loving it! Plus it grows so much faster than the English knitting style. Thanks again 😊
This is how I do it and I never realized it was special 😂 I cannot throw, it’s waaaay too much movement for me. Great video I hope it helps folks who are anti purl 😂
I do it this way when like your demo, I have a lot of knitting on the needle , I feel I knit on top of my work this way. When I’ve just cast on I have to be careful and I’m not on top of the knitting so I have to pull more.
recently switched to this style of knitting after being introduced by a friend but have trouble scooting up my stitches on the left side when it's already being so preoccupied doing all the tensioning, moving the working yarn, etc! any tips, or do I just have to get better w/practice?
Hi! I think this just gets easier with practice. I often scoot my stitches up and then re-tension my yarn. It gets to be a really fast process with practice
Learning to knit continental was easy because I came from crocheting which holds the yarn this same way. But learning to purl continental was a challenge, I purled a much slower and more cumbersome way up until about 2 years ago so I purled a weird way for over 10 years. So the purling definitley took some practice, but after a week or two of practice it became second nature. So I would definitely keep at it, but maybe English style might feel more confortable?
What knitting project are you currently working on?

Did it feel awkward when you first learned to do it? I've tried continental and I can't seem to get it.
