Did u hear the teaching about the 2 cities on either side of Laodicea? One had hot medicinal springs n the other refreshing cold waters. If mixed they were lukewarm n not good for medicinal or refreshing purposes. Good message if u come across it.

If you read through Revelation chapters 2 and 3, you will see that Jesus evaluates each church. Five of the seven churches were shown areas that they needed to repent. For example, the Laodicean church was shown their lukewarmness. The Lord told them that IF THEY OVERCAME (lukewarmness) they could sit with Him on his throne. this clearly implies that if they did not repent and become "hot" (fervent) in their walk with God, they would be disqualified from their eternal purpose of reigning with Him. Paul also said that if we suffer with Him and endure, we will reign with Him. This is a conditional promise. To live a distracted, compromised or lukewarm Christian life can surely disqualify us and prevent us from fulfilling our eternal purpose, to reign with Christ. There are those in the book of Revelation who stand before the throne, and there are others who are sitting on the throne. One group was "overcomes" and the other group was not, but they were saved.
