El pasado domingo 18 de octubre del 2015 tuvimos el placer de recibir en ESM Jam Session a uno de los más grandes guitarristas de Jazz: JIM MULLEN. Mundialmente reconocido por tocar junto a Pete Brown & Piblokto! durante dos álbumes en 1970, con Brian Auger de Oblivion Express, realizar varias giras con la Average White Band y ser galardonado en muchos premios de la música británica, incluyendo “Mejor Guitarrista” en los Premios de Jazz Telecom británicos (1994, 1996 y 2000).
Jim Mullen realizó un concierto-clinic en el Auditorio de la escuela Superior de Música Jam Session (Sala Distrito Rock), ubicado en C/ Montfar 16-18 (Barcelona), acompañado de los siguientes profesores y colaboradores de los Centros Educativos Jam Session:

I have seen Jim on play for over 40 years, hi is an incredible musician one of the best in the country.
He plays in his own unique style and one of the top players in this country, he has tremendous style so please go and see him great musicians

Proves you don't need a college degree or any degree to play jazz this gentleman is an old school Virtuoso who plays with a ton of feeling.

He says Wes was double-jointed and could play upstrokes with his thumb. Mullen says he can only do downstrokes and has to use lots of hammer-ons and pull-offs. Amazing skill considering that limitation in his technique!

How different Jim plays since his days as a rock guitarist with Brian Auger.
Jim was a Jazz player long before his Brian Auger days Bernard. I used to see Jim around West of Scotland Jazz clubs in the mid/late 60's .
