- A full nest of silkie eggs was in trouble after mom got attacked. I jumped in my car and took my sheep and my incubator along for the ride to a gas station, to meet the owner who had called me...
When I got the eggs I thought the chances for survival of the chicks inside were pretty slim...
But with a little bit of help, 9 out of 10 actually made it out into this world :)

i have to say that i wasn't prepared to see this adorable little sheep following you to the car. What a cute little thing!
Also it's sad for the silkie mom who i'm guessing didn't make it, and the one egg who got too cold. 9 out of 10 is still a miracle though it could have been more loss.

@@Torj37 If I remember correctly, he only eats eggs if he knows they are not fertilized. I remember him saying once that he has no rooster, so his own chicken's eggs are okay to eat.

Help , I found a baby bird at my house , what do I do with it .
@@lucastan7995 probably late but look up to see if you spot the parents anywhere and if it has flight feathers if you either see the other parents or it has flight feathers leave it be and watch for a distance unless it appears lethargic otherwise bring it in and find some way to keep it warm then call whatever the closest rescue is even if they don’t specialize in birds and see what they suggest

I've never heard of showgirl chickens before. Very interesting. They look to me almost like a cross between a silkie and a turken. Glad to see the ponies doing well, and looking forward to learning about your new little lamb. 👍🙂

Showgirls and Swizzles are my favorite Silkies.
(I’ve had bantams, rhode island reds, Leghorns)
Wow! Silkies are always so precious. Very different from average chickens:
-very calm n docile
-smaller in size
-really fluffy no barbicels
-can’t fly but they flutter n hop when they run
-5 toes on their feet, instead of 4
-Excellent Moms d/t they’re very broody
-they won’t tear up your lawn, their very tame
-they have the cutest small eggs w/a yolk thats bright orange if their happy n free range
-a real silkie will have black skin a genetic mutation seen in the original silkies fr China.
(They also have black bones. Don’t look for photos it’s haunting😢)

Since I’ve started watching this channel I’ve become so invested in a single egg hatching, as if it was my own pet. I never thought I could smile or cry over an egg. Thanks for widening my heart with every video.
You are such an inspiration and source of comfort for me and many others, it was very difficult for me to be anything but apathetic about the world but you've inspired me to let myself care about the little things and little creatures in my life. two days ago my friend asked me for help with a severely neglected ball python, and I was willing to try my best! she didn't make it, and I am heartbroken, but watching your videos - especially rescue videos like these, makes me feel a little better. even though that sweet little snake couldn't make it, it's so comforting to see someone doing what i was unable to.
