Wow $35! Back in the day, Hasbro sold SA 12" SW figures, with soft goods cloths & such for $15. She looks very nice. I'm tempted to get her $ Ren. Nice review, Victoria! 😀
Thank you! Those were very simplistic figures though. I collected pretty much the entire Collector Series and Action Collection in the 90s and they weren't anywhere as nice as this. Not to mention the fact that she has over 30 points of articulation, which in itself is quite remarkable.
I only collect 3.75" and I've been collecting since 1978. I just think its great to see woman collect, I don't even know any guys that collect in person. You make awesome videos. Your also very pretty. Have a great day.
Thanks! It's nothing new really... I've been collecting for 20 years. I suppose having the channel just makes me more visible. Again, thanks for the kind words.
Great review Vic! gotta say the likeness is so so, otherwise it seems like a really solid release. I was actually surprised when you showed the backpack close up, and the little bits and bobs weren't removable. So they did a great job on the sculpting work! If your into this class of collectible, definitely seems like a good one. thanks for sharing
Thank you! The head sculpt isn't dead-on but I'm OK with them taking a somewhat stylized approach. Now that they've announced Leia and Vader and some Rogue One characters I'm really eager to see how far this line goes.
Hi Victoria What bb8 is that at end in the pic with Rey looks like around the size it would need to be near Rey? I need Leia and Vader to finish my collection but they are quite expensive now especially Leia! Great review as always Hun!!!!!
Does the head pop off ? I'm just wondering because I would kitbash her and stick a custom Rey head on her... but from what I see it looks like the head is connected to the neck ? Thank you :)
I caught your old video about the smaller figures that 3 inch .75 I think that's the size that you thought they were going to get cancelled and I know that feeling as a collector when you take something that you've been collecting for so long and it might to be come to an end sucks because to me my collection the Black Series is my hobby and peace of mind at the end of the the day that's how it is for me I'm really happy they kept those things in production for collectors like you
+Victoria's Cantina Victoria when does The Wave get released with Qui-Gon Jinn the 6-inch do you know I saw the reviews but at the Comic-Con but they didn't say when that wave was supposed to be getting released will it be after the wave now with the Darth Revan cause I don't know hoping maybe you do LOL
Wow victoria you may have just sold me on this one. really looks great upclose, and I lovee soft goods! it's really good price right now at $20! thumbs up
TheBudgetJedi I'm probably not going to be doing that one, nor Kylo Ren anytime soon. My friend Matt Brando did great vids for both of those and I did the ladies. If I do it probably will not be until next month at the earliest.
Victoria's Cantina I saw her, Kylo Ren and Darth Vader at the Disney Store outlet in Cincinnati last night. Princess Leia was sold out. so I picked up the Darth Vader instead. Rey and Kylo Ren look pretty good. Maybe I'll get them the next time I visit Cincinnati.
Victoria's Cantina I like Vader, but he could be better. I don't like the cape, as it doesn't drape right, and I don't like his head, it's only a swivel and it seems too small, and his Lightsaber falls off of the hook too easy. other than that, I don't really have any problems with it.
@@VictoriasCantina And I did end up getting Rey and Kylo Ren for really cheap on clearance. Very nice. Kylo Ren could have had a better hood, but other than that, great figures. Did you ever review Vader and Kylo Ren from this line ? I can't remember.
Watched your review and it convinced me to pick this up earlier today. Having a lot of fun figuring the articulation. So far I'm more impressed with this than what Hasbro has been offering. The Jyn Erso figure gets released the day the movie comes out so I hope you'll review that as well. I like your insights.
Glad it was helpful! I intend to check out the other three coming out on Friday and if they look up to par with Rey and Leia, perhaps I'll get them too! Disney has been running lots of promotions on these, so hopefully they'll be on sale too.
Victoria's Cantina Haven't seen the movie yet but picked up Premium Jyn Erso figure. I like it a lot. She's got the same amount of articulation as Rey. The face sculpt does a better job resembling Felicity Jones in terms of her facial structure but the paint detailing is rather bland. If you pick it up, be wary of the eyes as some figures aren't painted uniformly. Jyn has a really cool sniper rifle but a useless tonfa but it is collapsable which is pretty cool. I think you'll like it, but you can wait until boxing week when it probably goes on sale.
***** Thanks for the tips! I'm probably going to wait for these newest ones to go on sale. I was super excited for the first two batches but seeing how they went down to $20 shortly after release I'm sure these ones will too. I'd definitely like to do a video for Jyn at some point.
Basically it's the amount of movement you get from joints. For example, the neck is on a ball peg. You can only move it as a rotation. The shoulders have a ball hinge, meaning you can rotate them in circles AND move them in and out. The elbows have two bends, so that's two joints. Wrists are the same as the shoulders. I think I demonstrated all the movement in the vid.
Enjoyed your excellent and thorough review of this figure. Perhaps an adult Rey?? Really am not crazy about the expression of the face or the fact it just does not come off as Rey. And the light saber is just too massive. If it were for real it would take both of her hands to handle it and her arms would grow pretty tired after a short bout making her more vulnerable to defeat. Concept-wise I like the idea of a 12 inch series but definitely would expect figures that are truly representative of the character in the films not some artist mock up. Better sculpting of the mold please, Disney!!!
Thank you! Yes, it's definitely a stylized version of Rey. And it's possible they're trying to appeal to both Star Wars fans AND the general doll-buying public, so I can understand it. Apart from the head and the oversized lightsaber, pretty much everything about the rest of the figure is top notch. Very happy with what Disney did here, and their upcoming Princess Leia looks awesome. Much more movie accurate.
What's up Victoria I just subscribed to your Channel I think you do awesome reviews as what I just seen the way I feel on the elite to me is if you're just going to put that figure on a Shelf look at it like as a statue it's awesome but me I'm partial to the Black Series because I do dioramas I need the most articulated figures that I can get my hands on like the next wave coming out with the Alec Guinness Obi-Wan to me that's the man that's the Obi-Wan that I grew up with and Qui-Gon Jinn that I've been waiting forever for them to release him Liam Neeson awesome actor one of the most underrated actors ever that's the man right there Obi-Wan he's skills so that's what I've been waiting on awesome review you have a new subscriber Victoria
Carmine Annunziat0 Thank you! Appreciate the kind words and your subscribing. This figure has at least as much (and probably more) articulation than anything in The Black Series. The large size would make it difficult to use in a diorama, but I've placed mine on the shelf by herself and she looks fantastic. Truly great figure for the price. I'm impressed with the quality and articulation. Thank you for watching!
+Victoria's Cantina no problem thank for the review but the one thing you pointed out . To me just like you said about the hair and it getting messed over time that's why I wud Shrek we use this figure I just ask you just to be looked at you know what I mean. the hair would be my main gripe
I'm going to get both of them. They are no Hot Toys/Sideshow collectible, but they are less than $40 bucks a piece for a decently well made 1:6(ish) scale figure. Something that has not been a reality since the early 2000s and mid 90s with military/historical warfare figures. I can fathom dropping $300 or so on a HT 12 inch wax statue(lol) over a figure for retail price, better functioning articulation, and looks fine enough. Sadly, I find the Rey looking too close to Barbie, and not Daisy. That is my biggest turnoff with her. I understand they are trying to tackle almost half a dozen different demographics to sell such a figure, but it could have been a tad better. The revealed Leia looks like Carrie enough in my book to make it feel less, stereotypical doll likeness.
This looks like a successor line to the old Hasbro/Kenner 12 inch line from the 90s and on. This line encroaches on those museum pieces from Hot Toys. Except these are more affordable. I'm glad we have a less expensive option. Rey looks too short for a 12 inch line up. Even Ren is about 11 inches. I have the Black Widow doll she's only 10 inches. Disney seem to have their own size standards. In addition to Rey and Ren, they have an 14-15 inch plastic line as well. There are simply too many sizes, from 3.75 to 31 inches. Rey looks good, but Disney could have improved her. Her face is kind of generic. It's Rey sorta. Those arm sleeves look too bulky. Slimmer and tighter material is needed. That's the difference when you pay for a Hot Toys figure. Real boots would be preferred. Vader and the troopers are very tall, I hope they are close to scale.
Oh yea, a Hot Toys figure definitely would have been of much higher quality. And they are... they did an amazing job with their two Rey figures. But, when you consider that you can own all seven of the figures in this line for $245 plus tax (the cost of a single Hot Toys figure) it's hard to justify buying one figure in place of seven. Sure, the quality ain't the same. But I truly feel these are nice enough for me to be happy with in this scale. It's not a scale I normally go for, but I like Rey enough to be completely content with her despite her shortcomings.
yeah the fabric and leather goods look great. the facial features look good. the lipstick ruined it..and the hair is good. give it to a little kid and its well...well played with to put it nicely. good figure overall though.
Thank you. I don't think a figure like this is any more kid-friendly than any other mass-produced toy or figure. In fact, I think a figure such as this is targeted more at the adult collector than the 3.75" range would be. I have some issues with the face but accept that some artistic liberties were taken to give it a stylized appearance. It looks like they've got some great stuff coming for this line, so I'm excited!
+Victoria's Cantina never really seen them...dont have a Disney store here...im going mad on the Rogue one figures at the moment..same Hasbro stuff though.
SI FI I've been quite happy with most of the 6" Rogue One figures lately. I can't find the 3.75" figures though. I haven't even seen the Phasma wave that came out back in April or May. Distribution on those is terrible.
ok. decided to change the hair style to a single bun and it gave her a mature look. To anyone who want to change the hair style. her hair is short and her bottom bun is longer than the rest of the hair. it's all one length (beside the last bun) a ponytail will look tacky so a bun was all I can do.
They're trying in part to cater to the general doll-buying public. I'm OK with the stylized head, but I might have liked it even more if it had a more film-accurate head.

No. The head and neck are one piece. So you'd have to find a way to remove them and then replace them with a head and neck of similar construction.
wow! that is a very awesome figure! i hope i will find this one soon 😱
very good review btw! 😊
Thank you for watching!

İ just got mine for 13buck and im amazed. its really cool and the hair so far looks cool. İ might apply hairspray or clear nailpolish to it tho
Wow victoria you may have just sold me on this one. really looks great upclose, and I lovee soft goods! it's really good price right now at $20! thumbs up
Thank you, TBJ! I really do like this one. I don't normally go for this scale. But at the price and considering how good she is I just had to.

are you planning to do the 10" vader review ? or is that not in your list. or did you do it but i just couldn't find it?

is the blade removable from the lightsaber hilt ?
Thanks for the review, nice figure!
They just revealed Vader, Krennic, and The Death trooper on EW dot come.
Thank you! Those new ones look pretty great. I'm really excited about this line!
awesome so looking forward to the review on this one and you didn't disappoint neither did the disney store :D
Thank you! Feels good to be back and reviewing Star Wars. Big focus on that for the next few weeks leading up to Rogue One.

i wish they would of made the bag around her waist and backpack was soft goods as well...but shes still nice looking!
I like the combination of both plastic and soft goods. Plus, I think they were leather in the film.
I just got min today and I'm looking for that 30 points of articulation all I can count is 21! 😕
Neck - 1
Shoulders - 4
Biceps - 2
Elbows - 4
Wrists - 4
Torso - 1
Hips - 4
Knees - 4
Boots - 2
Ankles - 4
TOTAL = 30
Im kinda cofused on how to count articulation. I hope you can make a vid of it coz I don't think someone did it yet it will really help...

The101genco Thanks Zach. I'm really looking forward to Leia too!
Victoria's Cantina Me too I need both Rey and Leia!
got one on sale today for 20 at the Disney Store
Awesome price!

Is there a similar Kylo Ren
Cause all I can find is diecast
You just convinced me to get this figure. Though I really hope they will still do a Boba Fett in this line.
Boba would be great!
can I remove the ties holding the hair buns? really not into the hair style
At your own risk. I doubt you'll ever be able to get it back to the way it was before.
nice ...is this die cast too??
Nope. All plastic and soft goods.

Kylo Ren's helmet is too small, just like Darth Vader's.
A second unmasked head would have been better .
ITS NOT A DOLL ITS AN ACTION FIGURE!!! ;). said every single boy who played with toys
agnody1 whats the difference? Buy her! If you buy HER AND you call HER a doll it doesnt MAKE you gay...
call it whatever, if it got STAR WARS in it, we'll buy it all

I'm so so sorry, the dislike is to the figure, not to your videos D:

she looks like a Barbie but its nice
They're trying in part to cater to the general doll-buying public. I'm OK with the stylized head, but I might have liked it even more if it had a more film-accurate head.
