@@cocolenchojapan Ha, good question. I touch on it in the vid, but there are a few reasons: 1.) The back area of the property, particularly the lower part down by the river (and where you can go swimming) gets little to no sun at all. It's very dark and cold (like most old Kominkas, haha), so we want to open it up to a lot more sunlight. 2.) The trees are all Sugi (Japanese Cedar), and they are really packed in. Part of "opening up" the area is also to be able to make more use of the property we have (we have lots of forest all around us, we don't need the forest right up to our back door). 3.) After we've removed many (or most) of these cedar trees, and dug up all the trash around the property (there is a shocking amount of buried plastic, glass, and other random garbage all over the place), we plan to re-landscape and revive the land - and definitely...plant NEW trees! Probably a few maples, etc. (that change color in the autumn), and perhaps maybe a few fruit-bearing trees like you have! 😉
Haha, thanks for the feedback, that's what I was thinking! 50:1 mate, mixed exactly, it's just the way the sunlight was hitting the smoke (I guess?). ON ON!
I was little worried it was going to fall on your house!
Haha…that one, no, but I still have a couple that need to come down that are much nearer to the house, and much bigger! 😖
@@KASUMINaturals but you are getting better, so no worries. Just curious why are you cutting them down?
