I have a couple felted crate and barrel ornaments I use as bag charms, the best part about using those is they are soft and will not scratch your bag like a metal charm or a charm with crystals will do.
I’ve made so many bag charms using ornaments especially for Christmas! You can literally make them out of anything like old jewelry, I’ve used old cameos the pin back fell off of, an earring that I had lost the other one, part of an old necklace that did not tarnish when the rest did, and an old locket. I used a patch that I could not ever find a clothing item for now I can put it on any bag! Last on should be for more durable bags only but crystals that you hang in the window make some sparkly charms.
That’s a great idea, and I have thought of it but I worried that the string might break on the ornaments. I think it’s possible to attach something to secure it better just in case.
One of my favorite bag charms is an old charm bracelet I made on my first trip to Walt Disney World! I bought clips on Amazon to help my attach it to my bag. So fun to see creative ways to turn ordinary objects into bag charms!
I don't do bag charms even though I like them! It did occur to me that items can be attached, I thought by using one of those clip things! Thank you for the video!
To flip it around a bit, one thing we did the last time we traveled overseas was to collect keychains (which I tend to do anyway) and have turned those into Christmas ornaments, so I have an Ampelmann set from Berlin, some Hungarian dolls from Budapest, a curling puck from Canada, a cuckoo clock from Germany... it's a lot of fun. The ones you found are adorable as well. I would recommend maybe a thicker string of some sort as that jute may not be as strong as you need. Cute idea though!
Great video, great idea! Loved the pics with your mom. I found a chain belt with charms at TJMAXX once and made bag charms by detaching lengths of the chain and adding O- rings. If you can thread a needle, you can whip stitch the needed length of chain to the top of any fabric ornament, add your O-ring and you're set! 😊
Your doxie charms are adorable! I love how you had them facing each other on your bag. I love your felt charms, too! Brilliant idea to use the o-ring on the ornament. I can't wait to try this!!!
Yes!! I just bought a slew of Christmas ornaments a few weeks ago… not for my tree (which isn’t even up yet), but for my bags! Some were as cheap as $3.00, so I went crazy. Lol Great minds think alike! 😉👍🏾
I love your videos and that’s a really cool idea. Is there anyway you can do a video on the difference in buying bags between the outlets and the store? What’s different quality etc.
Very cool idea, Autumn. Those little crocheted animals Are so stinking cute! There is some beautiful and amazing scenery where you are. Thanks for sharing everything.
Love the ornament bag charms! That’s a great idea, especially with the holidays coming up. Also appreciate you sharing the pics-Oregon is so beautiful 😻
I’m excited I have my advent calendar preordered! And you saw snow!!! Beautiful scenery. And I love all the charms. And I never thought of the ornament as charm until this video. Just before you said it I saw where we were going. Brilliant idea! I love your green top also💚
First, I love that green sweater / top on you ! 💚👍💚 Second, your ornaments are lovely as bag charms ! 🤗 If you are sure you won't use them as ornaments, you could buy keychains (meaning just the ring and the chain) from for example a craft store or eBay / Amazon and sew them on to the figure instead of the yarn. 👍 Third, you guys really find the loveliest places to visit ! 💚🤗💚
Love your brilliant idea! And your choice of excursions with your mom looked fantastic! If you haven’t already, this time of year is my favorite to go to Willamette Valley Vineyards. It’s just outside Salem in turner Oregon. The views are incredible, my favorite Pinot in the world is from there called, Whole Cluster. I’m pretty lucky it’s basically in my backyard. Anyway, another ideas as you keep exploring your new homeland.
Now your bag charms can be Christmas tree ornaments as well. The O rings could hang on a branch. Dual purpose pieces.🥰🥰🥰 The new ones you bought are too cute.🦝🦨
I noticed you have a epi Montague in black! I was about to buy one from real real but I can’t find any videos on it . Could you tour it in one of your videos? 🙂
My Coach charms have not held up to regular wear. The metal has snapped in several places on a couple of them. For the price Coach needs to improve quality. Almost a 100.00 for bag charm swag. I am now making my own or getting them from PL
I hadn’t thought of this until your video! And I feel kinda dumb having spent A LOT of money on my Coach charm collection, however it’s a beautiful collection. 😊. My eyes are wide open now, on the hunt! Oh! Amazon has dupes of the Coach cherries 🍒, I bought one just for fun and it’s very close to the OG!
I have to admit that the minute I saw the PLG Doxie charms, "Autumn!" popped into my head, glad to see you got them. Funny story, last year I had a little Christmas ball hanging off one of my bags along with another charm. I'd gone out to eat with a friend and after I got home, I realized the little Christmas ball was missing. I wasn't too concerned about it since it was just a cheap one out of some stuff in my holiday decor. Fast forward months later...went to pay my bill at this same restaurant and there is my little Christmas ball hanging up by the cash register. I didn't bother asking for it back, I have plenty of them but it cracked me up that I hadn't noticed it there before. Did it take them that long to find it?????
I think I might be afraid that the string hanging loop might break. You could maybe replace it, by firmly attaching the chain end of a keyring-and-chain component, by sewing the chain end into a seam of the ornament...?
Amazing ideas Autumn! Im so glad you were able to share experiences with your mom!❤
So smart with the ornament hack!!
Every darling Christmas Tree decoration! Also Cherry dupes are everywhere.
Also lapel pins, bracelets & necklaces!😍🌻
Love the dachshund charms!😮😮🐾🐾👀
I have a couple felted crate and barrel ornaments I use as bag charms, the best part about using those is they are soft and will not scratch your bag like a metal charm or a charm with crystals will do.
Cute ideas. I got a silver Tiffany bird charm earlier this year and now I'll use it as a bag charm. Thanks Autumn
Good idea! Just make sure it's secure. :)
I found the charcuterie board and even a loaf of French bread on Etsy. I found other cute ones too! Great idea. Can’t wait to get mine.
etsy has such cute stuff! I get in too much trouble there. ;)
@ me too!

Making memories with Mom is always priceless! ❤
Great charm idea adding O rings and knitted charms are so cute!! TFS 🤗
We had such a great time! I wish she could visit more often.
Yep, I've been stalking West Elm ornaments; they have some very cute ones that can be easily converted into bag charms .
That's a great idea! I'll have to check them out.
I love all of your new charms/ornaments. I make bag charms and bag chains from thrift store Jewelry. It's fun and really inexpensive.

Great video! You look awesome and rested and I love the Rexy Paul got for you!
So Adorable!!! And I absolutely love your sweater in this video

I am so happy that you had a great time with your Mom. You look rested and peppy !
I love those as bag charms! I’ll have to go look for cute ornaments 😅
How cute and fun idea! :Thanks for sharing!
Thank you. :)
That’s a great idea, and I have thought of it but I worried that the string might break on the ornaments. I think it’s possible to attach something to secure it better just in case.
Yes, it wouldn't be too difficult to add a different type of connector.
Absolutely brilliant realization ! You took your Mom to all the best places!❤️ I know you all had a wonderful time together!
Thank you so much! She was a great travel buddy.
Brilliant idea autumn!! I’m def going to try this ❤❤
Thank you! I hope you love it. :)
It was so great to see photos of your mom and Paul. They look great and I'm glad you had a good time.
Thank you, we had a lovely time.
I love this idea ❤

Amazing video. Love shots of the trip. Yes your mom definitely needs that bag. Should get her the little change purse to go with
She really does. Good idea!
Autumn, I love all of your animal charms!..especially the deer, the bird, the racoon and the skunk. It's too hard to pick a favorite!
Love the charms and the idea to use ornaments
One of my favorite bag charms is an old charm bracelet I made on my first trip to Walt Disney World! I bought clips on Amazon to help my attach it to my bag. So fun to see creative ways to turn ordinary objects into bag charms!
Great idea!
Such cute ideas! I love Cannon Beach! It’s really evolved into a great place with unique shops. Glad your mom came for a visit. ❤
I love Cannon Beach, too. It's my favorite. Lincoln City is a close second. Completely different vibe and I enjoy them both.
Awesome idea! I’m headed to Golden Corral to pick up some new ornies now.
oooh awesome idea actually. it had not crossed my mind!
What is wrong with us that almost none of us have thought of this!?!
That Autumn,is brilliant❣️What a fantastic idea..I’ll go hunting too for more “bag charms “! Thank you for sharing this with us.🙏🏻🥰
Very nice! Random question- I'm wondering what you think about sling bsgs???
These are fun ideas for bag charms. Thanks for the video. I loved your pictures of your trip.
Thanks for watching! I love a good bag charm and we had so much fun with my mom.
Adorable choices! Great ideas!
Thank you. :)
I don't do bag charms even though I like them! It did occur to me that items can be attached, I thought by using one of those clip things! Thank you for the video!
Thanks, Daniel!
Good idea 👍🏽
Thank you. :)
Those O-rings are game changers. I have the Walmart version of an LV speedy and I neeeeeed that Spa Rat ornament from Michael’s last year for it.
I had to google the spa rat. So cute!
Great idea 💡 😊💚
Thank you!
@@AutumnBeckman your welcome
I got my snoopy Christmas ornament as handbag charm. Looks lovely on my Kate spade bag. I don’t need te o ring ust knot it on the handle.
That's so clever!

Great idea. I'll add that to my list. :)
Thank you for sharing ❤️ fantastic idea...loved all your new charms..
The destinations you visited looked amazing and the hot chocolate...delicious ❤
The trip was amazing. We had so much fun. Hard to find a place in Oregon that isn't stunningly beautiful.
Lovely little critters! I think the grey crocheted one is a dragon, non a dinosaur, but it is still lovely!
Someone else said stegasaurus. They both make more sense than a t-rex. Thanks for your interpretation!
Such a wonderful idea! Those are adorable. xoxo
Thank you. :)
Very cool idea, Autumn. Those little crocheted animals Are so stinking cute! There is some beautiful and amazing scenery where you are. Thanks for sharing everything.
I can't resist woodland animals and dinosaurs. Yes, it's difficult to find a place in Oregon that isn't strikingly gorgeous.
I have never seen anyone use ornaments as a bag charm it is brilliant. I will be out looking for my options. Great idea
There are so many options!
I have been so into bag charms lately! I got the cute little terrier dog this week from PLG.
The grey dinosaur is a stegosaurus, with those triangular plates on its back. Great idea to make ornaments or tiny animals into bag charms.
Oh, I think you might be right. Someone else suggested it's a dragon. Both make more sense than t-rex.
Great idea!!! I would swap that cord out for leather lace.... cause why not! :)
Great idea!
Love the ornament bag charms! That’s a great idea, especially with the holidays coming up. Also appreciate you sharing the pics-Oregon is so beautiful 😻

1. Thank you. 2. Great idea! 3. It's not hard in Oregon!
Omg 😲 the 😍 cutest dachshund, too.
Well I didn’t think I was gonna indulge in the bag charm trend, but now I’ve changed my mind. Thanks, Autumn! 😂
I think your the first to think of this, amazing idea!!
Thank you. :)

We'll definitely have to visit. We've been to the tasting room in Lake Oswego several times but not the vineyards yet.
I use AirTag charms on my bags.
I never thought about that either 😳😂❤️
It's so simple and there are so many options. Why didn't we think of it before!?!
Autumn What fun ideas!! Great Idea Where did you find the little skunk with the back pack?
It was at one of our local grocery stores called New Seasons.
Now your bag charms can be Christmas tree ornaments as well. The O rings could hang on a branch. Dual purpose pieces.🥰🥰🥰 The new ones you bought are too cute.🦝🦨
That is such a great idea! I love how versatile bag charms can be.
@@AutumnBeckmanornaments on your bags and bag charms on your tree.🥰😂
I noticed you have a epi Montague in black! I was about to buy one from real real but I can’t find any videos on it . Could you tour it in one of your videos? 🙂
Do you mean the epi montaigne? It's in a dark purple. I haven't done a video on it yet but I will. Not sure when.
Bag charms are so easy to make if you have the stuff as most crafters or artists have.
100%
Or find old jewelry that is a chain, take it apart. Sew it on to ornaments into charms, add o ring on top!
Great idea!
My Coach charms have not held up to regular wear. The metal has snapped in several places on a couple of them. For the price Coach needs to improve quality. Almost a 100.00 for bag charm swag.
I am now making my own or getting them from PL
Hi, love the content. New viewer. Can you cover exotic leather purses luxary or affordable versions please.
I'll add that idea to my list. ;)
The skunk was stinking cute ❤️
That's definitely the most stinking cute one! 🤣
Coach makes the best charms that are actually charms. ;)
Hmmm some Christmas tree ornaments 😊
So many options!
I have used the single earing left
I bought some jewelry at the landmark store a couple years ago and didn’t get that charm in my bag😢
The charms are a new thing. I think they were related to a recent renovation throughout the building.
Great idea! Btw the raccoon has a lantern so he can did through the trash at night. He’s a trash panda 😉
That is hilarious! 😂
Omg I took pictures yesterday to email to you of the dog charms😅
Thanks for thinking of me. :)

That's wild! There will always be a little piece of you there. 🤣 How fun.
I think I might be afraid that the string hanging loop might break. You could maybe replace it, by firmly attaching the chain end of a keyring-and-chain component, by sewing the chain end into a seam of the ornament...?
Great idea. :)
My initial thoughts were..where is the Keychain loop/hook?
Why wasn't that one of my initial thoughts, too!?!
❤❤❤
Thank you. :)
Great idea! My daughter (10) & I turn lots of things into bag charms, even some dog toys. Your little animals are adorable & so fun!
Screw is called Chicago Screw
Thanks for identifying that!
I think your turnip is an onion and bird is Eurasian Blue Tit
I wondered whether it was an onion, too. I googled photos and decided on turnip but it's up for debate. Thanks for identifying the bird!
What fun! OMG The Overlook! 😱🪓 I have some of those round clips from DUYP, I'm going to go round the house to see what I can clip to them! 😅
You have some fabulous ornaments. I'm sure you'll come up with great things.
