Hi I have been watching your video's a few months now, thank you for your content. I went to the website for Piedmont plastics and they have different kinds of PVC sheets, which type did you use? Also I didn't see any dimensions beyond 48" so how did you get the 54" high panels? I couldn't find a way to order panels in the dimensions you specified, so I was wondering how you ordered them? I also saw that just for a piece for 1 shelf it was over $100, how was your cost only a few hundred, with 14 shelves?

I send my dimensions needed to the manager threw email and he sends me a quote and we take it from there. Just look for the contact email and send what you need it's easier that way. Thanks for watching Corey. I use half an inch black foam board pvc. Anything thinner than 1/2 inch will bend easy. I used black pvc but as far as color goes its your choice👍. The pvc is a bit more expensive than wood but well worth it
I got both at reptilebasics they sell the heat tape loose by the foot or they can cut it for you and attach the electrical cord so all you have to do is plug it in and your good to go. Any more questions feel free to ask.
On the older wooden rack I had belly heat. It was 8 levels I had 8 strips of heat tape and used foil tape to hold them down. The foil tape didn't do a great job since it was wood but it worked out. I got my heat tape from reptile basics and I bought it already with cord and outlet. So I had 8 cords. I bought a long power stripe that had 10 ports. With the pvc its soon much easier
Hey bro would you recommend the V18 size rack system for a baby milk snake that is almost a foot long? I dont want to have to buy another rack thats larger when she grows, should I go larger off the bat or go up gradually?
v18 is good for up to about 2 years old I do have some 3 yr Olds in v18s like my Arizona Mountain Kingsnakes as they grow slow. but after around 2 I'd upgrade. for an adult the fb28 or v70 is recommended for a large adult corn but slightly smaller is fine if the snakes not very big

there's no 1 size fits all as some kings max out at 3-3.5 ft and others can hit 6ft but usually won't exceed 4 feet or so. I would recommend the v70 tub from vision as that's the most used tub size for adult Colubrids and give lots of room. The fb28 from freedom breeder is a good pick for a smaller adult under 4ft

What I did was figure out what size rack I needed to accommodate the bins i was using. Then i emailed Piedmont plastics directly and gave them the breakdown of what i needed. They use a computer to determine how many sheets they need to make the cuts and give you a price. Once you pay they custom cut your pvc to order and you pick it up. They charge you by the sheet so if it takes 4 sheets of pvc the charge you for the sheets and I belive a cutting fee of $35 or so for the whole job which isnt bad. After i picked up my pvc pieces they gave me the excess pvc becuase there is left overs after cutting what you request....you can use the excess towards future builds

You said in one of ur videos that where u ordered from they cut to size for u.. what was ur sizes that u ordered? And how many of each did u order?
Thanks for watching Joe. If you look un the video description it shows the measurements but let me tell you here.
2 pieces for the sides measure 54 inches tall x 20 inches wide
And i have 14 levels that measure 25.5 lenth x 20 wide
The pvc is 1/2 inch thick and black.
@@cloudcolubrids4603 awsome thank you much. I swore I looked at description but I guess I looked at the other one not this one. Sorry bout that. Do u happen to remember what the cost was of pvc cut and shipped? I am currently waiting on a reply email back from them on pricing.
@@joeyuris9641 it was $375. No shipping i picked it up . Im lucky they are 30 minutes deive from my house. Pvc is expensive but i love it. Oh its ok and any more questions i will answer i like questions 🤟
How many sheets did you use total for that rack?
Thank you for watching. for this build I used 2 side panel's and 14 pieces of pvc for the shelves. if you have anymore questions please ask I love to help.
Are you planning to build a rack?
Cloud Colubrids yes I am! I’m going to use the freedom breeder FB-5 tubs
@@reannafriesen899 fb-5 tubs are great. You can get 5 bins per shelf using the rack I built. That would be alot of bins..you can mix and match with fb5s, v18s and v35s since they all are the same height. Soon i will be building a 10 level rack for semi adults/adults using the fb20 bins. Good luck with you build.
Cloud Colubrids thank you!
@@reannafriesen899 your welcome
You near Miami boss?
@@MateoMula not too far from miami
what is the PVC sheeting called
black foam pvc board. and its 1/2inch thick
doc Miller- check piedmont plastics. they sell pvc board.
Dope video Bro! Thanks for sharing and teaching. Hey where can I purchase rack material like that? Is that PVC board?
Thanks for watching and let me know what type of snakes are you looking to build a rack for? Yes this is pvc board and I purchased it from Piedmont plastics. They are in many cities so check them out online and see if theres any by you. They cut it for you to your specifications and you just have to pick it up. Homedepot also sells pvc but they dont cut pvc in store like they do with wood so unless you know how to cut it and have a saw id suggest going to a place that you can buy it and they cut it for you
@@cloudcolubrids4603 I’m actually been highly interested in building racks just like you and trying to find good diy codes which I found in yours. Jus hard to find the material around in person. But I’ll be building for adult and sub adult ball pythons. Bro I really appreciate all the info you’ve provided me 🤙🏽
@@jb8rtolo appreciate the support and positive feedback. Before all of this I was looking to buy a professional premade pvc rack but the cost just didnt seem budget friendly. Pvc is hard to come by but the internet is your friend...im sure someone in your area works with it. Once you build 1 and see the ins and outs you will want to build another
@@cloudcolubrids4603 Fasho Bro all good! I’m all about support. This actually the 1st video of yours I seen and really enjoyed it. Not only was it inspiring, it was very helpful...and so were you, as quickly as you replied to me. Which I don’t get from others that maybe to busy to reply. Very much appreciated. Jus subscribed so I’ll be catching up on all ya previous videos. Take care bro n thanks again!🤙🏽
@@jb8rtolo Oh man those words mean alot and thats why I do this. I appreciate you subscribing and ill be posting more rack building videos soon. Be safe
How much did you spend on this project
in the $600 range that's including bins.
I was looking to originally buy one professionally made but for the amount of bins this one holds it was costing about $1000.
Hey what are these shelf dimensions? Please and thank you
Hey Adam thanks for the question. The demensions in the video description. 54H x 25.5L x20w. So each shelve is 25.5 inches long and 20 inches deep.
@@cloudcolubrids4603 then the back panel( if you have a back panel) is 26.5Lx54H correct?
@@adamhoran5727 thats correct Adam. My rack is an open back with stoppers and back heat but the dimensions you gave would be a perfect fit since the shelves are 25.5 and each side panel is half an inch it would be 26.5 x 54
@@cloudcolubrids4603 hey one more question. I know you mentioned it in your video. Bit what exactly is it that you use for your spacer for the hatchling rack?
@@adamhoran5727 its called clear plastic shelve liner. You can find it at lowes or homedepot they sell it in rolls. You can even find it on Amazon for cheap.
Great vid, i currently have 60 breeders but all my sub adults are in bins with tops, like you said it can be timely. i love your racks im looking at piedmont plastics, its here where i live, but trying to see and wondering the dimensions you ordered as of now they hsve W 12 or 24 L 12,24,48 what did you order thanks man keep up the great vids.
Thanks for the awesome feedback and support. The dimensions for this rack is
54h tall x20wide.....2 pieces for the 2 side panel's. I have 14 levels and each shelve is 25.5 L x 20w.
After those cuts there is extra left over pvc they give you that can be used for a futre build.
Soon ill be making an adult rack for small adults that will be 10 levels.for the fb20 bins from freedom breeders it will hold 10 bins...keep me posted if you start building the rack and be safe
I am having difficulty finding the PVC on Piedmont Plastics. I did find some , but it's the wrong sizes. Can you maybe post a link to the specific product?
I also wanted to know id it was the PVC foam or the other?
@@melissaparker7336 yes its the pvc foam board. 1/2 inch thickness is the standard
Thank you so much
@@melissaparker7336 your welcome and if you make one let me know how it comes out. Im building one more soon
You keep your pets like inmates in prison. Being lazy is no excuse for keeping reptiles in plastic tubs. You should have less anakes if you can't provide them with a sanctuary.
Thank you for the comment. Everyone has opinions on tubs and it is proven to be the best way to keep small colubrids. I have many in larger enclosures that did not do as well and after moving them to bins started to improve.
All of my snakes are in very clean environments with a weekly supply of the best rodents and clean water.
My snakes are all very healthy and treated like kings and queens.
I respect your views and I hope you have a nice weekend. be safe
