    Thank you for this video. I hired a professional who did a terrible job. I've been searching on RUclips so i can try and do it myself.
    After watching this video, I'm convinced that I'm going to mess it up😂. Great video, though

    i think the final print for the frame you chose was a very good idea. it's moody, has a little orange for that warmth you were talking about, and the rain gives it that very moody Chicago feel. also, the stairs turned out beautiful.

    Amazing! this has been such a head ache for me. I've come back and rewatched your video a few times. Why tread then riser vs riser then tread? How is the paint holding up? Any tips to measure and cut landing type steps/spots. I have 6 steps that are not regular rectangles. Have you noticed a creaking anywhere? any tips to avoid squeaks creaks?

    • @thelksaddress
      @thelksaddress 3 месяца назад

      The order you install them is preference, we decided to do tread first for our workflow. The paint is holding up excellent and it’s been over 2 years since we painted. For the landing, we made cardboard cuts out to test fit pieces and used that as a template for the wood. No creaking at all, make sure you’re using a lot of glue when you set them into place to avoid creaking!

    Nice work ! I was going to paint the stringers white , any ideas white vs black ?

    • @thelksaddress

      We obviously did them black but we’ve considered them painting them white now 😅 so I’d say if you were leaning towards white, go for it!

    What kind of treads did you use. I have smaller steps and I can’t find ones that fit perfectly with my stairs

      We used pine treads from Home Depot - link in the description to blog post with all of the details

    How did you patch over nail holes in treads and risers? Wood putty or caulk or something else?

    How has your paint held up on the treads? Cheers

      It’s been a few years and the paint has held up beautifully! We have a few nicks here and there but it’s from hitting stuff into the stair railing, not from everyday wear
