Why have the past three videos had a pepper in the thumbnail? Did i miss something?
This is actually like the 9th video and ive just started noticing.
People complained the thumbnails weren't spicy enough
So peppers were added to satiate the spice lords

We got apps to tell us what cards to put in our deck and what cards to mulligan for, now we just need one that tells us how to play and Hearthstone will finally be the way it was intended from the start.

I think play winrate is to show how important a card is in a deck, if a card has a low played winrate in a deck that has positive winrate, it is replacesable
Patches the Pirate
Summoning Patches isn't playing him. To judge how good Patches is in certain decks, I agree that the drawn win rate isn't what you want, it's the win rate for games that you played a pirate but didn't draw Patches. So a subset of the played pool, and one you unfortunately can't access.
However, in a deck with lots of pirates, Patches will be summoned in almost every game in which he is not drawn. You can calculate the not-drawn win rate from the drawn win rate, the overall win rate, and the sample sizes of all games and games in which Patches is drawn. You don't use the played win rate.

It is weird to hear Zalae talking about how bad weapon removal is, but I run 2 in my even Warlock and 1 in every different of my three odd warrior variants (and the last one has to fit in both quest and dragons).
The top classes now are palladins, warriors and hunters and all of their variants run strong weapons (Uther Hammer, Supercollider, Eaghorn Bow and even the Cleaver in occasinoal odd palladin, skull from cubelock and dagger of odd rogue).
Maybe it is the difference between America and Europe?

I feel like Zalae tries too hard to be a hipster. He always goes against what people say and doesn't agree often. I'd agree with Firebat and you. Weapon removal is pretty important in the current meta
@@SerechII Well I usually move around rank 2 - 4, so the meta isn't that different from legend. If anything it could be the server since I play on Europe.
@@MarvelOfRain yeah, sorry, that was kind of a jerk answer from me, I do still believe people over-tech and playing "the good cards" over the "situationally very good cards" is better, Zalae is all about that, play good stuff on curve, hit them in the face, win the videogame
@@SerechII Wow thats really nice from you to apologize. Considering we are on the internet :D. I didn't took it as an insult. I justed wanted to add some information. The truth is that the metagame can be very different on many levels of play.
But yeah you are right I also like to play good cards and go face :), but I love looking for those extra % in win rate by trying out new package or cool tech card like Zalae did with Oondasta in Odd Taunt Warrior or replacing cubes with the discard Soulwarden package.
A low played win rate tells you when a card is bad right? Like it can't tell you when a card is good, only if its bad
It's better at telling you when it's bad, but some cards in some decks still might have a low played win rate and not be bad. For example, if you're playing a deck that is weak against combo and you have a certain card that is really only useful against combo. If you usually only play that card against combo, the card win rate might be 40%, but without that card, maybe your win rate in the matchup would be 10%. This is a hypothetical edge case, but you see the point.
TL;DR: Some cards get played more when you're in a low win rate situation, resulting in a low played win rate; that doesn't mean they are bad.
Artful Dodger for a less hypothetical example, yogg saron was often played when you were at disadvantage/out of desperation, so I would not be surprised if it had sub 50% played winrate, but overall it was good enough to get nerfed.
Yogg would have a pretty good drawn winrate, but a lot of this wins he would never be played in, so the played winrate would be bad

Has “ Divine Shield Paladin “ ever been a meta thing? Because yesterday I was chilling on my 2nd account and I faced a paladin who utilized many divine shield units with the secret that gives your minions divine shield - the weapon that gains +1 attack when your minion loses divine shield - the legendary minion that gains +1 attack when a friendly minion loses divine shield - and the minion that all minions lose divine shield and gain +3 attack for each. I won because he left, but I feel no pride in that victory. That may have been the most creative deck I’ve ever seen in ranked. Props to that dude

UnknownClasher back in kobolds and catacombs, recruit paladin was a good deck that utilized divine shield synergy cards from WoTG like Rallying blade and Steward of darkshire, but there’s never really been a deck using the divine shield things from Frozen throne that’s any good
I’ve played something similar when I got a quest that was something like “play 10 divine shield minions”. Maybe he was doing that. But idk if that quest is still avaliable
That guy probably just had the quest called "Tiny Bubbles Make Me Happy" which requires you to play 10 divine shield minions for a 60 gold reward.
It's not bad when you draw the 5 drop into spikeridged, other than that it's pretty underwhelming, kinda good against aggro if you get a good curve, just don't ever play the weapon, truesilver is just better
