    Just remember that all probes have a level of accuracy and that it may not be linear across the range. In addition the meter or device also has its own accuracy specs and thus the final reading is approximately +/- the sum of the two devices ( can be worse but that is deeper into Measurement theory).
    So a probe that has a +/- 1.5 C at about 250C and if your meter has a =/- 1C (plus least sig digit) then when measuring and making a call that the temp is 230.0C you could actually be 227.5C OR 232.5C .
    The take home message is that you should be focusing on consistency and reproducible outcomes. AND that if a probe or meter fails, the new item may not give you the same reading.... And that can cause some people; problems when things change and they focus on just the reading without understanding the levels of Accuracy.
    In may cases a couple of C may not matter and in other cases even 0.25C can cause a gross error... The context has to be understood.

    G'day Peter... Mate when a thermocouple comes with only the two separate wire output, can a yellow plug be fitted in place of those wire terminals to fit the standard thermometer connection ?

    Maybe a film about adjusting the burner in probat machines espreciall probatone 12 machine. having some issues with the flame. mixture of gas and air inappropriate. dont know how to fix it

    I can’t take apart the probe cover to access the probe from my p12, it seems to be glued, I have many issues with spikes, interference! I’m trying to solve this problem since months! I would appreciate your opinion! Cheers

    Question: Do you recommend cleaning the probes? How? Rubbing alcohol?

    i am trying to use artisan, understsand that this board works with the phidget board, i was wondering whether can the artisan be able to work with the Arduino Uno and Max6675?

    Hello Mark, I am want to connect my probatino 1 kg roaster on software, and I like to know if I have to make a new hole to put a probe in iy or can I use its on probe. What did you do there? If new hole, where should you recommend or where you did it?
    Thx

      Hi Mastre Cafeeiro! It all depends on the variables, If your new probe is smaller than the current one, most like likely you will need to drill a new hole... In case you need to do so, I would suggest to watch if your drum rotates counterclockwise or clockwise. If it rotates counterclockwise the heart of your coffee bean pile will be on the bottom right side. If it rotates clockwise, the heart of the coffee bean pile will be on the opposite side (bottom left side). So! Perhaps one inch above the edge of the front faceplate would be fine, but! Location also depends on your roaster batch size. Hope this helps! Cheers!

    I must consult the BEAN PROBE!!

    Hey Mark, would a faulty probe be the cause of the burner turning off mid roast? Potentially due to misreading the temperature and turning off due to overheating?

    thanks for nice video where can i but RTD probe ? did it work with phidghet 1048 ?

    • @jamesrempel8522
      @jamesrempel8522 3 года назад +1

      Too late I know, but no, the Phidget 1048 is for thermocouples only. The Phidget website has RTD probes and Phidgets, but the Phidgets use a VINT port, not USB. You need a separate VINT/USB hub to make it all work. So you'd have [probe] => [RTD VINT Phidget] => [VINT/USB hub] => [computer].

    what diameter do you recomend for a BT probe?

    • @christopheparre682
      @christopheparre682 3 года назад

      It depend the batch weight (mechanical resistance). Bigger is stronger but slower. For probatone serie for example, 3mm

    What would you recommend as a good insertion depth on a temperature probe?
