You need to see the film from start to end to get the full impact of the songs. They make more sense. Like this scene he is torn between Lind and his wife. You really wouldn't understand if you didn't know the story.

I’ve seen the movie. And while the movie is great it did lack a bit on the movie side. However the soundtrack is bar none the Best since moulin rouge. And in my opinion moulin rouge set the standard og mordern musicals What 15 years ago. The Music for The Greatest Showman is........great.
