    I am so excited, It's 1am and l am making strawberry jam. Girl you inspired me and showed me just how easy it is to do. I have my jars cleaning, my jam, jamming and l am waiting patiently to see if it comes out as good as yours did. I left mine chunkier than yours we like the fruitier jams so that worked. My machine will have the cycle done in 1hr and 8 mins, I thought that was very quick. Thank you again. You are sweet as sugar.

    Remember to cut down the sugar amount the recipe calls for because you use pectin with sugar already in it. I usually reduce the sugar in the recipe anyway and just add a slurry of cornstarch mixed with water.

    My Grandma has been gone since '96 and my Mom since 2013. I don't have any sisters or daughters. The Lord knew I needed girls in my life so he gave us 4 granddaughters as well as 3 grandsons. I do get lonely for women in my life but I am close to one of my daughters-in- laws.
    Anyway, thank you for showing us. I love chunky peanut butter too. Your sandwich looks yummy.

      Hi Mrs. Willa! Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. God is amazing and always knows just what we need. I love Him so much! What a blessing to have granddaughters and grandsons you can create, and I'm sue you do, wonderful memories with. What a blessing to have a close daughter-in-law. I'm praying, as well as my son, for the equally yoked wife for him. My son is my only child and I would embrace his wife as my daughter, because she will be. I look forward and pray for a beautiful relationship between her and I. I think that is special that you have a good relationship with her. I believe in the power of prayer and praying for your children's future spouse. I know your grand babies are all beautiful! Thank you! Yes, chunky peanut butter is the best! Always nice chatting with you, Mrs. Willa! You have a blessed rest of your day! God bless!

      Yes, we prayed for our 3 sons' future wives from the time they were babies. All of our children love the Lord. 2 sons and wives are leading their families in the ways of the Lord. Our oldest son and his wife know the Lord but don't walk closely but we know at times they reach out to Him. We are believing they will.
      Today we had a lovely belated Father's Day celebration. We go to my husband's work (he is the safety manager for a produce company. Everyone got to pick bell peppers, tomatoes and watermelons. Then my husband gave them all sweet potatoes and onions.
      Then we went to our youngest sons' house for lunch and the kids swam. Truly a blessed day!
      Tell your Mommy hi for me. Have a wonderfully blessed weekend.

      Hello! Yes, you can use a diabetic friendly sugar alternative. I have never tried it, but other people have and they say it is good. Pectin is used as a thickener in cooking and baking. It helps with thickening the jam or jelly. You can find Pectin at your local grocery store or on Walmart's website or even Amazon. Here is the link the the page on Walmart's website.
      www.walmart.com/search?q=Pectin you can choose which one you like. I hope this helps! Here is a recipe for diabetics: www.splenda.com/recipe/strawberry-jam/

    @moncher2797 4 года назад +2

    Nowadays you don’t have to sterilize your jars or lids before canning. It’s right to pre-heat the jars if what you’re canning is hot (ie jam). The lids don’t have to be sterilized if you’re boiling them for 10 minutes after you fill the jars. The lids get sterilized when you boil the jam in the jars. I love how you made the pbj sandwich & you were so excited about your jam. I think you’ve been bitten by the canning bug. Now you need to buy the big Ball canning book.
