  • The inner chest is critical for maximizing the visual impact of your chest. And it's also tough to hit with standard free weight exercises.
This version of the bench press has you shifting your grip at the bottom of each rep.
You'll rest the bar on your chest (while maintaining tension in the upper body and holding your breath to stabilize the torso) then shift your grip slightly inwards.
Press up then lower and repeat until your hands are shoulder-width apart and you're doing close-grip bench press. Then repeat, shifting your hands outwards. This will set your inner chest on fire!

I find it helps with stability and strength, as well as muscle contraction. I find when I breathe throughout the movement, it destabilizes the torso and doesn't give the muscle a solid place to contract from. It's not necessary, but that's what I've gravitated to over the years I've been training.

you cant train the "inner" chest, the musclefibers goes in one direction, and that is from the midsection of your chest, and out towards your shoulders. one thing you can is: move the stress a little up and down your chest.

This RUclips tutorial is ridiculous, who is even going to listen to this guy, I mean he had his shirt on the entire video and didn't flex once!
JK bro, I'll give this a try and give you some feedback after my session. My shoulders are taking over the exercise at moment, hopefully this will help. Thanks for the advice :)
