- Here we try to cover as much detail as possible on the installation of the Holley Sniper 1100 after our conversion has been done to adapt it to take the place of the stock 34-pict carburetor.

Man, you did a great job explaining the sniper system. I have a 383 stroker with the sniper and have a good understanding, but you helped me a lot.

Clark's Corvair throttle bodies
Highly doubt it. Jenvey and others already have IDA, IDF, and DCOE throttle bodies. Holley's is all geared for replacement of American carburetors, and this is a retrofit of an Autolite carb and all the vehicles that had them.

Man they got one of those for everything. It does well too. The rigs i saw with it were 300 to 600hp.
Great system, I have set one up on a LS, I had no idea they made one for a smaller motor like a VW. Very informative video, there are a few things I would do different but most of them are just personal preference as opposed to it being wrong. The only things I would really change is the temp pickup, that air filter, and I would likely run the fuel lines in the tunnel like a factory EFI car..... Yes, I am a glutton for punishment.. Good thinking on the raised idle once HOT.
It's not made for VW specifically. It's just a retrofit from what Holley makes for vintage single barrel American carbureted car motors. ruclips.net/video/f5E-M3b8Woc/видео.html

Is the wasp nest on the underside of the apron integral to the working of the EFI and included in the kit?
🤪 Nnce kit and explanation but a bit triggering for my 100% stock sensibilities haha. I can see this as a perfect upgrade for a late model with Bosch J or K .

I put Holley Sniper 1100 on my Pinzgauer with air-cooled engine. It's very similar to VW engine but is inline leaned at 23%. Having issues getting good engine temp reading. Tried in oil line and in fins of cylinder head. Never reads over 150° to trigger open loop learning. What Temps you seeing on VW engine?
Do you have a parts list available? Especially for the manifold adapter?
Excellent! Have you ever used this system on a 1973 Volvo p1800es? It now has a Weber 38/38 dges carburetor. Will Holly connect to Pierce Weber manifold. Thanks, Bob
What displacement does it support up to? And what power increase will this be compared to the 34pict 1600dp?

On the FI Super beetle, why use 3/8" fuel lines when half of fuel system is the stock supply/return lines and tank ports which I believe are 7mm? Thanks.

Years ago i would've said what a waste of money cuz the system was worth more than the car. But now a day's Vw's are worth so much
Does the temperature sensor assume the engine temp bellows and air regulator flaps installed, or doesn’t it matter? The last person apparently felt the temp regulator system wasn’t necessary. So, all the flaps, springs and bellows are missing. I’m just thinking that in winter the engine may never warm up properly. 🤔🤷♂️ Thanks. It would have been nice to have a detailed look at running the cables and wires through the chassis. Thanks for putting this together.
I'm not running thermostat and flaps on my personal VW (the shop truck), it's not an issue

Can the factory evap system - w/the charcoal cannister under the passenger fender - be used w/this system?
hello, what is the fuel consumption of this system vs a solex 34pic carburetor or a solex 30pic carburetor?
Love this install video. I have a 76 stock EFI convertible that I've been messing with for years now on and off. Currently I have a Megajolt using EDIS-4 coil but need a good EFI system to add. Will these work well together?

How much for the kit?
Do one with a 2 barrel setup and I am a taker. I really like LowBugget's Fittech two barrel setup, but folks say that their customer service is garbage.
AJ Sims with Lowbugget, took the $1746.00 I’d sent him for a Fitech set up and a few other things and he promptly took my money and didn’t send me a thing! He’s quite the sleazy, rip off artist!
So is the 1600 engine the smallest to fit this to or would it work with a standard 1500?
As long as you are replacing a 34pict carb, it will work

How big a motor can this work on? Say I want to put it on a fairly stock 1776 with a W100 cam or even milder
We run it on our shop truck with a 2021cc (76x92) engine with CB Performance Panchito heads and thier Cheater Cam. Works great
Do they make it for 69 type 3 fastback automatic ? Mines was efi but couldn’t get any parts to keep it running so ended up installing a center mount carb .

What did it do for your gas mileage.
I have a 68 Baja with stinger exhaust, could the bung be welded in the collector, and will this work with a centrifugal advance distributor

Would you need to change any of the initial tune's parameters in order to run this on a 2276?
Too small for a 2276 unless you have mostly displacement and otherwise mild can and heads (stump puller). We run this on our shop truck with a 2022cc (76x92) with cheater cam and panchito heads from CB Performance and it does great. Anything more aggressive than that the single throttle plate would be too restrictive IMHO
We're a Vw engine building business and I've been wanting to change over to a simple efi system for most of our complete customer engine builds. This set up looks idea for our Type1 1776cc with cheater cam. I'm just wondering how I find out the cost of this kit? Also, we build a lot of Vw aircooled 2L & 1800 Type4 engines that originally have twin single carbies. I imagine it wouldn't be hard to come up with a twin throttle body version for these Type4 engines?
That will basically be my build when I am finished. I’m running Panchito’s and a 110 grind cam, so it shouldn’t be too far off from your build.
And can you use the factory oil bath or paper element filters on a pre-75 Bug?
The top of the throttle body is slightly larger than a 34pict carb. You can fit a rubber based air filter meant for a Solex but not steel. Plastic housing may fit if you carefully heat with a heat gun and open it up a bit but we haven't tried. There's enough meat on the throttle body casting to possibly have a competent machinist cut it down to the proper size
Has anyone blown through this with a turbo? It would require a different MAP Sensor.

@stephencarr7173 it depends on heads and cam. FK7's and W110's are about the biggest cams we've run with it and they run great

Where do I get the complete kit for my carbed VW?
We ate working on becoming a Holley dealer to offer it complete, but for now you have to purchase the Sniper 1100 and send it to us for mods, etc.

Talk to guys that know how to hone first like Geoff that used to do them for CB. Also some quality jugs come already Race ready honed already I would be sure yours aren’t before you possible wreck a proper home job
Does this work on a 1776 aircooled motor?
We've installed them on 1500's up to 2180s. Installing one on a small cam 2276 today
@@red-emotorsports1212 I currently have Twin Webers that when they run, are really responsive. But recently, I found that these carbs get fouled up by the sugars in the Ethanol and leaked gas into my oil resivior. I have been looking for a EFI system that easy to install and will not cost me a whole lot of money just so I can ride my VW Camper once more.

I can think of zero reasons to do this to a period car: they were simple - the every mans car.
Whats the biggest engine you can use it? Im hoping to build a 2020cc engine with a bit of cam for road and some light off roading.
We've done a lot on 76mm X 92mm thickwall engines, Engle 100 and cb2280 cams and mild big valve heads, works great!
