In 'The Heiress' Morris Townsend {Montgomery Clift} sings this song to Catherine {Olivia de Havilland}. It's one of the most poignant scenes I've ever seen in a movie. If you haven't watched 'The Heiress' it's very much worth ordering the dvd on Amazon. Really one of the best movies I've ever seen. Stars Ralph Richardson & Miriam Hopkins, as well.

Martha Brown yes you have! And since Herr Martini composed this beautiful piece of music a couple of hundred of years ago we can assume that Mr Creatore and associate copied his song - Wise man say for Elvis from Plesir D 'Amour. Herr Martini of course was too dead to sue.
I watched this video because I just got through watching 14 Songs That 'Rip Off' Classical Music from the RUclips channel David Bennett Piano. I can't help falling in love with you is one of the examples.
@@marcellogenesi6390 the song was already on public domain. But to be on public domain the creator has to die for 70 years or so.
@@agnostosprosopo9947 You may be not aware that although Martini composed the music you still have to pay a copyright levy if you play the music in public in fact two separate charges, I used to play classical music in my cafe. mainly Baroque, none of those composers or descendant (if any) benefitted one penny from them, every body else did. Can you imagine if if I had to pay an annual charge to the people who made the chairs for the use of them, even thought I bought them, as I bought the CD, and cassettes.
