I’ve been in eating disorder recovery for over five years now, I actually consider myself recovered now and a lot more strong than I was a few years ago. I had orthorexia, which in simple terms means I would obsess over exercise and ‘clean’ or ‘healthy’ eating. It’s a lot worse than that simple explanation but for the sake of keeping things more lighthearted, I won’t go too deep into it. I absolutely loved your gentle approach to this, Nicola while still bringing awareness to things like eating disorders. It’s honestly so lovely to see the way you handles a topic like this which most people won’t touch on at all. I’d also like to add for anyone who may be struggling with an ED: help us out there and although it’s cliche, there IS light at the end of the tunnel. You’re not alone and most important, you ARE loved and you do DESERVE to be loved.

Also, hard agree on the benefits of ACV supplements! I just started taking semaglutide for weight loss and apple cider vinegar supplements have helped my tummy so much while I get through the side effects stage of starting the new medication.
TW: ED hey folks just wanted to share somethings i’ve learned during my ED recovery (orthorexia, anorexia, bulimia, and purging through exercise/exercise addiction) : -intermittent fasting is just a fancy word for eating less -ideally at meals you should be having protein, fats and carbs -eating at 6pm vs 9pm makes no difference calorically and has no effect on your body-it’s just a personal preference for when to stop eating for the day -if you’re struggling with binge eating, fasting and restricting the foods you binge on can make the cravings worse. instead, try to eat a balanced diet throughout the day and if you want a treat, have a treat! we binge on these foods because they feel forbidden, and by incorporating them into your diet regularly and in moderation, they will lose their “mystery” and eventually you won’t binge on them anymore. also ily and you’re doing great! -whenever we restrict our calories for an extended period, our body slows our metabolism, and then if and when we return to a normal pattern of eating, there’s a good chance you will gain the weight back and maybe even more. that’s why diets don’t work if you don’t stay on them forever! -it’s very difficult (maybe even impossible) to be in a calorie deficit and also to build muscle. we need protein to build and strengthen muscles, which usually means more calories than cereal or salad provides. if we’re in a calorie deficit, there’s a high likelihood your body will take any new muscle mass and use it for fuel, since you aren’t giving your body enough to sustain yourself or muscle growth body stuff is hard and i never want to tell anyone what to do with themselves. i also really like nicola, have been watching her videos for years, and will continue to do so. however, if you want to lose weight/change your lifestyle, i urge you to see a medical professional. i’m sure she says it here somewhere but this does not represent accurate medical advice and should just be seen as a nicely done piece of asmr. happy valentine’s lovely, you are beautiful/handsome/attractive no matter what!!

Me being an athlete playing in the English international team: ‘YES PLEASE, this is the first time I’ve gone to the gym in years and off I am bordering on diabetes!’ These kind of role plays are, at least for me, so positive as I find in my day-to-day conversation around weight me diet are very toxic as I have to maintain a very specific body function ability and as a person who has suffered with restrictive eating, it’s a very hard topic. So just for an hour tonight to be able to listen to what sounds like a person with a healthy aim is so healing and positive❤
I never comment on videos but maybe next time research more on nutrition 😫 as someone who is a qualified PT promoting 2 meals and avoiding food is so unrealistic. There’s no wrong time to eat and no food is bad for you. Just a heads up as that can really mislead people 😊
