Next time go Kashmir between 30 March to 20 th April you can also witness the beautiful experience of tulip garden and if you r lucky might get snow fall also and gandola second phase fill with snow. I with my family has experience this 😊
We went to gurudongmar lake in sikkim which was 17800 feet above sea level..... The most important thing while going to such high altitude is that always carry chocolate or toffee with you as oxygen in blood level decrease and also talk less in order to save your breath 😊😊😊
Maggi and hot tea coffee are the best option to survive at those heights of frozen gulmerg as well pahalgam... Memmories relived ..I was almost frozen..breathless..Putting hands into hot water.tea,maggi..and KANGRI helped be hold my breath back...It took 1 hour to overcome the adventures snowfall..
Before going to any high peak always carry camphor and popcorn with you breath camphor multiple times and avoid eating there drink hot coffee and the less you talk the less energy you can keep and you should always wear sunglasses in white snow that too when sun is high it can damage eye tissue and yes I know this all because I have tracked 18000 ft towards Gurudongmar lake -Gurudongmar Lake is one of the highest lakes in the world and in India, located at an altitude of 5,425 m (18,500 ft), in Sikkim. It is considered sacred by Buddhists, Sikhs and Hindus.

In these high altitude areas like the Gulmarg 2nd Phase top as also in higher places like Leh in Ladakh where oxygen density is relatively less, it is strongly advised not to walk around, do any activity or even eat spicy food immediately after landing there. You need to rest for about 24-48 hrs taking light food/soup during waking hours, only after that will you find breathing easy. It is called acclimatization. If you don't rest after reaching these areas you will definitely feel serious shortness of breath. The Gulmarg 2nd phase top is a spot where tourists stay for a very short time. However the people who run restaurants there or the gondola have no breathing issues. Same thing with the army. They get acclimatized there first so for them breathing is easy and normal. I think there should be a board on top advising tourists and visitors not to move around much after reaching there. Definitely not a place for running a cafeteria.

Coming back from high altitude places require some care and monitoring for few days to avoid thromboembolic episodes ,please take care even when you reach home don't rush into gym give body time to adapt drink plenty water and do pranayam
My niece was 1 yr old when we visited along with family in march... Reached gondola phase 2, played in snow, lots of snow games, atv ride was also there.. No oxygen issuse as such :)

The best season to visit Kashmir is March end as we had experienced snowfall and all over ice that time Gulmarg was like heaven and even in Khyber we enjoyed the snow and clicked wonderful pics in their backyard area❤
