I remember the first time I got on one of those plastic yellow banana skateboards around 1979 or so and I hit a huge hill that was newly paved with no sidewalks... Houses at the top then the woods. I sped up so fast that my feet started going numb from so much vibration if I had on the Nike Zoom Air URLS I wouldn't of had to jump of like they did. Thank God I didn't hit a tree or fall.🙏🏾 I love that model and so comfortable.

I remember when Sb's first came out I was able to go and buy dunks for a reasonable price at any given moment. Now all you can get are janoskis.

Why do women get so much hype and sponsors for basic tricks and difficulty, when guys have to do so much more to get the same attention and deals? Is that gender equality?
Because truthfully there is no gender equality when it comes to physically demanding sports. Women are equal in alot of ways but skateboarding is definitely not one of them and its abundantly clear how big of a gap there is. Jaime Thomas BS lip slide the hollywood 16 in 1998. Rayssa did it in 2022, Thats a 24 year progression gap. There are slowly closing in and having better skaters like Funa, Chloe and Rayssa step up and do the heavy lifting but it still doesn't change that naturally guys are more industrious than women. Rodney Mullen picked up a skateboard and saw a world of possibilities to unlock, Pat Duffy saw those huge rails and was like I think I can do this, Tony Hawk was like I think I can spin even more. It's just built into us to take things further and further when it comes to physically demanding things or making new tech. We already paved the way, there catching up and its awesome too see them get so good now and i'm excited to watch Rayssa kill it in SLS just like I am for Nyjah even though the skill gap is there.
looking at some of the male ams that skate in contests, gonna have to disagree with you there.
