    These videos are great - thank you so much. When can we expect to be seeing the rest? Do you have a training series in the works? Cheers

    Thanks, Freind! Not sure why is it hard to find Alcatel tutorials, as if it has 90% market share in the network world. The last time I check, Ubiquity is getting more shares than Alcatel in the small business. OR Maybe the Alcatel Network Engineers are so STINGY sharing knowledge that they think they will be millionaires if they keep it to themselves LOL

      Hi Jose. Thanks for the comment - much appreciated! It's been so long since I did this, but I think we had an account to download the image. If you don't have an account then you could try to download the timos image - either TIMOS-SR-12.0.R6-vm.zip or TIMOS-SR-13.0.R6-vm.zip and use either GNS3 or VMWare to install the image. Thanks for the question.

    Hi Coach,
    Thank you for sharing wonderful video.
    Taking an example of 7750SR-a4:: If the IOM is configured in slot 3 and Two 20-port RJ45 MDA in slot 1 and slot 2. So the port ID will be 3/1/1, 3/1/2 ,, so-on and 3/2/1, 3/2/2,, so-on . Correct? Thank you.

      +Mohd Atif Thanks for the question.
      The way that we do file transfers/upgrades is to use FTP. Try not to use Filezilla, but instead use Windows Explorer as an FTP client.
      Copy the image files to the flash (cf3:/), copy the primary image to the secondary image (in case the primary image fails) in the bof. Point the
      primary image to the directory that the image files are copied to. Upload the primary image, save the bof and then reboot the box :) I hope that helps.

    Also for the access port (Not trunk) configuration on ALU routers, why do we have to specify the encap-type "dot1q" because this is an access port. For eg.
    port 1/1/1
    description "R2"
    ethernet
    mode access
    encap-type dot1q
    mtu 9212

    • @ascorpio1
      @ascorpio1 7 лет назад +1

      An access port can be a trunk port which uses VLANs (built on SAPs) to differentiate services, dot1q allows single vlan tags, the ALU also allows QinQ or two vlan tags too, thanks

    Hi. I liked to install gns3 with vm. Can you help tutorial?

    • @routercoach
      @routercoach  6 лет назад

      Hi Irattes, I'm sorry I don't quite understand your question. You want to install GNS3 inside of vmware? Or you want to have GNS3 communicate with vmware?

    • @lrattes
      @lrattes 6 лет назад

      Thanks. I'm need create a lab with routers Alcatel7750. I install GNS3 , VMWare workstation, sros-vm.qcow2, and GNS3 VM. What should I do next?

    • @routercoach
      @routercoach  6 лет назад

      I'm not sure how to do it via GNS3 as I had an ova file which I opened in VMWare directly. However, I have seen this blog on how to get it to operate in GNS3: nbctcp.wordpress.com/2015/01/14/alcatel-lucent-vsr-os-in-gns3/
      Have a try here. We will also look into making an instructional video on how to get this working. Thanks for your enquiry.
