Mikal Bridges deserves more love for his performance. Not only did he turn back into Brooklyn Bridges unexpectedly, but he also made some history while almost outshining Wemby down the stretch and keeping the Knicks in the game while their stars were struggling.
Bridges getting his mojo back will be so huge for the Knicks. I feel like KAT has taken a lot of pressure off of Brunson, which is huge because last year at the end of the Indiana series he was dragging himself out there, driving, taking contact, and getting hurt on nearly every possession. But now I worry that the offense revolves around KAT a little too much, where he could get hurt and if he does, it’s gonna all fall back to Brunson again. Having Bridges be reliable from the corner and able to draw defenses on drives is so huge to help space them out more and gives both JB and KAT another outlet pass on rotation. And it just flat out adds another guy who can take 15-20 shots when JB or KAT are cold. OG and Hart have done everything that is asked of them on both ends. Bridges has been the guy lagging behind a little on both ends of the floor-but he has really started to pick it up lately. This team is so much better and more versatile when he is able to rotate well on D and be a creator on the other end.
