I always remember the English actor ( ?actress ) Eleanor Bronn at the height of her fame back in the early 1970's saying ' I love my children so much that I can't bear to bring them into the world ' . As a very young person who had anti natalist sentiment ( without knowing that anti natalism was ' a thing ' ) I found her comment very reassuring. ✌️🕊️
As a non-philosopher, I was not aware of there being such a vociferous debate on this matter, but as a devotee of the works of Samuel Beckett I find myself intrigued by David Benetar. Thanks for enlarging my awareness.
As a South African philosophy graduate I regret that Benatar's work has become the poster-child for South African philosophy. His work dominates every conversatin I've had with people about my degree, which is why I don't mention it anymore
I saw that Leftist Cooks video in my recommendation, and from the title, I assumed the content thereof and did not click it, and judging by your rehash, my assumptions as to the content was correct. That's basically how every argument I've had with pro-natalists have gone. They love to misrepresent what you say to justify their own emotional conviction.

Humans have optimism baised because optimism helps in survival and reproduction.

Your cake analogy is great. I have to steal it!
Simply fantastic, I appreciate the response to Leftist Cooks (I did suffer through the full length of the video, although I did it at 1.5 speed).
Thanks :)
I am shocked the festival will not even release an audio of the benatar talk
Looks like they didn't even record it, and it might be because Dr. Benatar might have requested to not record is my guess.
As always, thanks for your meticulous analyses.
You're the best, man.
You can't fathom the good/great you are doing with your honesty/logic/reason/decency.
Thank you so much....
Thanks :)
We would be glad to see you Collab with voice of vegans ..he seems to be receptive...and also he is going to read better never to have been
Absolutely, I am up for it!
👋 hi
Hey!
I did think Peterson won the debate with Benatar
You think. Dont know.
Wrong pronoun 😅
Yeah I am not very educated on this subject of genders and pronouns(as if I am on others btw) so I keep on making mistakes
