I bought this product after watching your video. It worked really well the first few times and now the TX battery dies almost after one hour. The company hasn't written us back about the problem. Its not so nice anymore for teaching yoga because I can't give classes that are longer than an hour and a bit. I love your videos by the way. It's nothing personal. I just wish I saw a comment like this before buying it. Thank you.
Thank you so much. I was looking for a video specifically like this to explain how to use the Rode Wireless Go to film yoga videos and to teach online classes. You did such a great job clearly communicating everything.
I"m so glad! It took me a while to figure out, too. Which is why I made this video. If it was confusing to me (someone who loves tech) then it's gotta be confusing to non-tech yogis, too.
I loved all of your helpful info Ashley! I went down the rabbit hole online and was so frustrated with the crappy marketing of most brands. I was curious why they never actually shared with consumers how they sounded!! You helped me immensely and I am grateful for you :) I'm a newly graduating yoga teacher and I really needed to amplify my voice. have a great day!

Haha, I know what you mean. No tech-speak here. I watched way to many tech guys and none of them helped with this. I'm happy about the surprising popularity of this video and how helpful it's been for so many people. Thanks for watching!
I totally agree with Arianna's comments! I have been tearing my hair out with the Rode Go to link to my Mac. I've now ordered the USB adapter - fingers crossed! Thank you!
I watched several videos trying to get the best information on wireless mics for Zoom classes. Ashley, your video by far is the best. I really enjoyed listening to your review on the Rode Wireless. I'm going to order one today! I have been teaching online Taiji since this pandemic hit us and have tried several mics. I'm sold on Rode! Thanks so very much for your thorough explanation.
If you think you might need two microphones, go for the Rode Wireless Go II. You can always use it with just 1 mic. But it's nice to have that back-up or the ability to have multiple people or additional sound options. I have both, and I still use the original primarily. But I wanted to shout out the II option.
Great video for explaining the crazy cord set up needed for the Rode microphone. Like you, my studio has been using this microphone since the end of March and recently ran into line of site issue now that I'm able to operate classes again in the studio. Since I'm continuing to offer live streaming of in studio classes I've had to move the computer and receiver farther away from the instructor (maybe 30ft opposed to 10ft). There's no longer a direct line of site from the transmitter to the receiver as my computer and receiver is not directly in front of the instructor but more at an angle. Audio is now cutting in and out and if the instructor turns to face away from the camera, audio is lost completely. Up until the point of having to move the receiver further away, the microphone worked perfectly. Wonderful for filming on demand content as well. Something to keep in mind if you're planning to continue to offer live stream content once your studio reopens. You will need a direct line of site to maintain a constant audio signal :)
THANK YOU! Finally, someone that speaks clear simple language! You're a star :) Just one, question, do you know how to add Spotify music to the yoga class as well as doing the instructions?
Through Zoom, I heard you can "share screen" with spotify for the music. I don't use music, though, and don't recommend it without the proper licensing. It's actually illegal as it's considered a public performance unless you have the rights to the song or you pay expensive licensing fees. Your spotify subscription fee doesn't pay for that. One of the best things you can do, to be safe, is to just send the students a link to the spotify playlist, or tell them to put on a specific style of music to their liking.
Thanks Ashley. I just bought one of these and your demo on how to use it was very helpful. I am a lawn bowls coach and the wires were always a problem. Not anymore, I will use this from now on. Thanks very much.
Oh this was so helpful thank you. It took me forever to figure out how to resolve not to be able to listen to your students once you plug in a mic to your device. Your video cleared all doubts. 🙏🙏🙏
thank you so much ashley!! due to your video, i went out to purchase this and am very excited...i shot a yoga outside but because of the cars passing by my viewers couldn't hear my video despite the beautiful location outside a buddhist monastery...i am hoping it will work..i have created my own youtube channel promoting yoga and green smoothies so this video of yours will change my life thank you!!
That's amazing! And sounds like a beautiful location. If you have trouble with which cords you need, or is something seems off, please reach out. I'd be happy to help you get set up. It can be a *little* confusing sometimes. :)
Thank you for your video Ashley!! .... you've made me feel like I can do this!! so daunting trying to work out all these cords and cables - I teach Pilates & Yoga and have not got online yet as the sound is just not great. Thank you for sharing! you're a gem !!!
Thank so much for this, especially the bit about getting the extra usb cable to plug the sc7 cable into my mac. It all worked right away. Easy peasy. You likely saved me loads of time, frustration and stress.
Awesome! It took me over 1 month to figure out and that's a LOT of time saved if you got it to work right away thanks to my one simple video. I'm so glad it's been helpful for so many people.
Thank you so much! This review helped me hear these microphones in action from the perspective of another yoga teacher! Finally decided to buy these, so I don't have to record the voiceovers for my RUclips yoga classes separately anymore (which takes a LOT of extra time...)
Thank you so much Ashley. That was so informative and incredibly helpful. My Macbook pro is 2015 as well and you explained so clearly what I need for my set up. Thanks for taking the time to educate us. Youre awesome!!!
Great video, thank you for sharing! I have tried a few different things and have not yet found what I am looking for. The biggest issue I have is sharing my computer audio (music) with students. I use Krisp for noise cancellation, but all of my mics sometimes pick up the music which causes my voice to cut out...I am wondering if you share your music with students and how well that works for you with the Rode Wireless Go...?
Thank you so muchAshley. I have been researching for two months and you made it so clear , precise and concise. Thank you with all my heart. You have helped me a lot today. I am extremely grateful for your help. Namaste
Thank you so much for your video 🙏💕. I just ordered the Rode Wireless Go including the SC7 and I am looking forward to trying it out next week! Seems like that you have other videos for online yoga teachers on your channel so I subscribed 🤗🙋🏼♀️
@@AshleyHagen No problem 😉. I use the Rode at the moment mainly for recording my RUclips Videos and I love it! Next year, I will start teaching Yoga online so your new video with the tip of using a bluetooth speaker to be able to hear the students is very helpful 👏🏻🤗.
Hi Ashley! I hope this wasn’t already answered, and I apologize if it has. Have you on a zoom call, shared computer sound AND the audio from USB? I think the current set up will work amazingly well when I’m teaching 2nd graders once the school year starts, BUT I also teach a workout class. I’d like to know if I could play music from my Mac and still use the set up you shared for the mic.
I just want to jump in again and thank you for this video and replying to me last week! The Rode is on sale on Amazon! The links were so helpful! Thank you :-)
Hi Ashley! your advice on the rode wireless microphone has been amazing. Thank you as I didn't know it existed. I have been filming straight from my Mac book Air with Rode Wireless but finding with the laptop being my camera I'm limited to where I can film from (angles etc.) I want to try filming from iPhone 11 but not sure what the adaptor cable is called that you showed - the white adaptor for you phone. And what tripod do you use? Thank you xx
Ashley, I purchased the pods after watching your video. I attempted to use the pods for a Insta Live video and received no audio. I have the bluetooth connected but I do not hear myself and there is no recording. Are there certain programs that do not allow for wireless mics?
You are a saviour Ashley! I bought this Rode mic at the beginning of lockdown and I could not figure out how it worked with my Macbook, and there are no videos or help from Rode either! I wonder how you worked it out? I am so pleased as I will be opening my yoga studio soon and want to teach live and Zoom at the same time. It was interesting to watch your RUclips video of you doing this as my teachers are very anxious about how to do both well, giving the people in the room attention and not ignoring the Zoomers! I guess we will have to work it out as we go. If you have any tips or suggestions for me I would really welcome them...thank you so much...Rachel :))
Hey Ashley thank u so much, i have a question, what happens if you want to get also the background music? does it work or it sounds very faded? Thk u again!
Try to play your music directly through Zoom. Here's how: ruclips.net/video/rGySn0h8nv4/видео.html I do not play any music in my classes due to copyright issues. So unless you have the rights to play the music, I'd stay away from it. It's up to you, though. Playing music through the mic in the background is not such a good idea.
@@AshleyHagen thank u so much i was asking not for zoom classes, but for RUclips videos. Am a dance teacher so I'm looking for a mic that catches my voice very nice but Also récords the músic I'm dancing with. I do this today with the recorder on my phone but i Guess Is not the best quality!
@@NataliaVanq Hmm.. good question. If you don't have a large echo in the room, the Yeti mic might work well. The Rode Wireless Go probably not so much because it tries to cut out background noise. The best way is to do it for best quality is probably post-production in editing. But that can be tedious.
@@AshleyHagen yes i récord with a go pro and the audio Is horrible, so i record the audio on the phone. I have tried fixing the audio of the go pro in post but it's not a huge improvement, so.... In the meantime my phone works.. but i Will keep looking something with better quality! Maybe Yeti, i Will search info about it. Thks so much for your answers
We’ve been looking for the answer to this for awhile now, thanks for sharing this. I like to play music while teaching. Can you comment on how it picks up the music and your voice at the same time please?? Namaste🙏
It probably isn't the best microphone at picking up both voice and background music. It often will try to erase my deep breath sounds and also doesn't play the tibetan singing bowl when I ring it at the end of class. Your best bet is sharing your music over Zoom using the share computer audio option under "advanced" or just sharing the playlist with your students. I do not play music while I teach on zoom, and when i teach hybrid classes with in-studio participants, I make sure the background music is on pretty low.
Ah thank you so much! I loved this and your webcam video! Can I ask how you play music on your online classes? I play mine via Zoom but presumably you cant hear the music when the mic is on? Just wondered how you overcame this?
Hi Ashley, thanks for your helpful video! Do you need an SC7 cord if you are going to use your lab top for recording - or would the USB to audio jack be the only additional purchase?
Oh my goodness, thank you SO much! I've been using the Samson Go Mic Mobile, and the sound quality is just not there. This was a really clear and helpful video! -Sarahlynn (in Gig Harbor!)
Gig harbor! You're so close to me! I can't wait to get out and be able to check out other yoga studios in the surrounding area. It was a goal of mine before this year and then... nope. Soon, though.
Hi, Ashley! Thanks very much for this helpful video. Just missing one (more) cable!! What is the name of the USB cable that is plugged directed into the laptop, please? Thanks very much!
Very helpful to see the set-up with your explanation of all the cables. Thanks!!!...So, when you attach the Rode receiver to your laptop you still use your iphone to take the video, right? So video and sound come from two different divices? thx!
Wow this was awesome!! I'm eagerly trying to get into teaching virtual classes. In your opinion, would the Rode work on a Dell laptop in a Facebook room? Problem I'm having is Zoom keeps freezing and cutting out. I even got a wifi extender and it's still giving me issues. But I REALLY want to get back to teaching fitness. I'm in NJ and gyms are at 25% capacity with masks required. I'm not teaching with a mask lol
Yeah, it works with where ever you are filming from. When I do a Facebook live, I just have to make sure that the audio setting it set to "USB Device" because it defaults to the internal microphone. You will likely need to connect the receiver through a USB cable. You can try it first with attaching it straight to the microphone input, but I'm not 100% sure it will work. If not, I have the additional cables listed in the description.
It's usually fine when I am in prone poses..With it clipped to my shirt, the microphone is still pointed up, not down towards the ground. You may have to play around and reposition it to find the best spot to have it. If you are on the ground a lot, you can also simply unclip it and place it on the ground in front of you to talk into.
Hi Ashley, would you reccomend this microphone to teach classes on facebook live? I just use a computer normally but the audio on facebook live is miserable so I need a microphone at all costs. Thanks a lot
Yes, I use it for FB live all the time. It will default to your computer's microphone, so make sure to check the drop down and change it to USB device or whatever it shows up as when it's plugged in.
What is the microphone setup that you are using for shooting this video? Is it a boom mike placed above your head, or are you using a professional grade USB mike? Or are you using a professional grade handheld Mike with an Audio Interface?
I do not have the Rode Lavalier Go, but I assume it's great. (The Smartlav won't work) I have two cheaper lavs, but they don't plug into the Rode. I'd need a TRRS input to TRS output adapter. Or a new lav mic. I do have the Pyle Double Ear mic, and that plugs directly into the Rode Wireless Go and that's great, too.
Hi Ashley, Thank you very much for this video. I am still struggling with my rode.. Is it correct that when you use it on your phone with the extra SC7 cord and little white adapter thing you have as well that you cannot hear sound when you play it back? If I use my dictaphone or just camera app for video, I cannot hear any sound while playing back. I am still struggling to see if it is an mistake with my rode or that i am doing something wrong. It's killing me!! I litaraly have it for a month already but haven't been using it since.. My Rode seems to use the battery as well when it is turned off, do you have that problem too? Every time i start it back up, the battery is low, even if I just charged it and turned it off the time I justed it before. really hoping you can help me!
Thank you for the very informative videos, @ashleyhagen! I have a question: have you ever used tuning forks with these mics? I tried to use a tuning fork sound in my online session for grounding and the sound does not come through at all :( My voice comes through very well but not the tuning forks humming sound. Any thoughts on what settings I might need to change on the mics to have my clients hear that sound? Thank you very much in advance! 🙏❤️
No, I have not. If you are Zoom, it's a Zoom audio settings situation, probably not a microphone situation. Turn on "original sound for musicians." I actually don't know all the exact settings but it's something to look up and find out. If you have the rode wireless go II or the wireless ME, download the Rode Central app to make some adjustments.
Yes it does. I use it for facebook live all the time. When on a computer/laptop, you will have to change the setting at the bottom of the screen before you go live. It does not automatically default to an external microphone.
Also check in sound preferences, you must tell the computer what mic use for your audio should work with the original cords for Rode Wireless Go. May help use fewer cords.
I was on youtube for hours looking at what cords i needed or didn't need with my 2015 macbook pro. Oftentimes, external microphones do not show up on mac computers through the microphone input. That was the case with both of my Mac computers. It wasn't showing up at all in my preferences. I found very little online that didn't involve multiple cords. It just needs to be plugged in through USB. Whether it's one or two small cords, it's not too terribly complicated.
Thank you so much! My sister just earned her yoga teaching certificate and is teaching the rest of the family via Zoom. Question: With which device do you video yourself live? If you use a phone, is it on a tripod? Or a laptop? How is it situated in your room? Thank you so much. Nora
All the things. I use them all. Best tips is to set what you are using as camera about 8 feet away and at waist height. I set myself up at a side view. Tripod helps, but you can also just use a shelf for chair as long as the camera or phone is stable. Light should be shining on you, not lit from the back (I.e. don’t have a window behind you.)

HI Ashley. Great vids, thank you. Question! How do you call the connecting cable from the ROde transmitter to computer? Audio to Hdmi ..; do you have a specification? Can’t find it… Thank you!!
Thanks for all of the tips, Ashley! I am teaching yoga via zoom as well. Are you saying that I would just need to connect the rode receiver to the lightning input (filming from an iPad Pro), clip the mic to my shirt, and I’m ready to go? Is the mic bulky, say, on a tank top? Also, do you know of a way to still be able to listen to students, with the receiver plugged in? Thanks!
Yes. That's what I do with my phone and should be the same with an ipad. But you won't be able to hear anyone once it's plugged in. You will still need the SC7 cord (gray/black), instead of the one it comes with (black/black).
Thank you for a great video:) I have a question. You Said something about that you cant hear when its plugged to your iPhone? Does it mean if you teach on zoom or Google meet that you cant talk with your students while teaching? If so, do you know how it Can be possible to do so? Thank you so much
My specific video talking about the Rode mic with iPhone will be uploaded on Thursday. There are 2 work-arounds. One, using Bluetooth headphones like airpods. Two, connecting your phones Bluetooth to a speaker or headphones. ruclips.net/video/zQsnuoBqD6Y/видео.html
Yes. I use(d) it that way all the time. It doesn’t need a direct line of view. It’s not like a TV remote. You can move around and face whichever way you want to use this.
Hi Ashley! Fantastic info THANK U. Are u running music via Zoom-advance-share from your laptop? If so how is the instruction voice projection with the rode coupled with the music?
I am not using any music. I'm not letting that stop me and have had no complaints. I wish I could offer advice on music but the only thing I suggest is sharing a spotify playlist with the students. There is also legalities and copyright issues around playing music. The classes I teach do not depend on the beat of the music.
Thanks for the video! I did my YTT200 last year and wanted to start teaching and only have been able to practice "teaching" by making youtube videos. Been looking into the whether I wanted to buy the Rode with an additional lavalier mic, but think I might try it by itself first to improve my sound quality!
Yes, I was using it at the beginning of this video. I use the Blue Yeti when I am just sitting and talking at my computer. It’s great for podcasts or any direct-to-camera type of videos. I don’t use it when I’m teaching yoga or at my yoga studio because it does pick up more background noise. It offers a few directions and could also be used during in person interviews and such.
Lighting cable adapter. If your phone does not have a headphone jack (iphone 7 and above), you'll need to use the lighting cable adapter. If you have a headphone input, use that. Some other phones, you'll need a USB-c adapter cable.
Ah, brilliant Ashley! Like many others I see, I've searching around for solutions and it seems to get complicated with body packs, channels etc. The two rode pieces look so simple. I just wondered if you ever got noise from being attached to clothing particularly in movement? I've had disasters with lavalier mics before.
Once when I was wearing a halter top shirt. Because the rode mic is on one side and not a mic all around like a lav mic, it doesn't pick up as much clothes rustling. BUT, wearing tighter fitting clothing is going to be best anyway. For any attached mic.
I do not use music in my classes, personally. I have a few videos on using music, though. How to advance share through zoom, and what it sounds like externally using different microphones.
Question: Do you recommend the Rode Wireless over the Yeti? I'm doing Zoom classes (including Yoga Sculpt) and I'll be using my airpods to pipe in my music. Is there a reason you use the Rode Wireless during class instead of your Yeti?
100% yes, for teaching. Check out my comparison video (yeti vs. rode vs. airpods vs. internal mic) ruclips.net/video/-ACnOh6WGCM/видео.html Yeti is a great mic when you are sitting right next to it, not moving.
Thanks Ashley, This video has been so helpful. I bought the rode wireless GO and the sound is better than the one I had. But after 3 weeks of use students still report crackling sound and distorted sound at times. I can't pin point what makes that happen. Sometimes the sound distort/crackles after approx 40 minutes. Other times it might be when my head is down like dog pose or kneeling down and body/ head down/arms forward, sometimes when I go into forward bends with my arms above my head. Has this happen to you? I wonder if I got a faulty product. I thought it might be because my battery is too low. It is easy to see the battery level on the receiver but not the mic itself. I have started charging it every couple of hours but even then the sounds is bad at times. What do you recommend? Thanks so much for your time helping everyone. Carole
Hi thank you so much for your video! Super helpful! 1 question, i bought the wireless mic rode & the audio jack fo Samsung, but when i did live Instagram, my voice didn't came through the mic, any advice? Thanks
Did you have the TRS to TRRS cable? It doesn’t come with the Rode Wireless Go. It’s the Rode SC7 cable and is about $15. Black side to the receiver and gray side into your phone.
I got this system and I used it for the first time and it cut out a few times. Any idea why. I had mic clipped to my shirt and it was line of sight with nothing in the middle. When I played it back during crutches it started to cut out. Should I clip is somewhere else.
Hi Ashley, I have a blue yeti USB extrernal microphone and I stream my classes through iPad with a lightning to USB adaptor. Sometimes I can heard the sound, sometimes it diverts the sound to the Yeti. I would like to be able to hear my students for Q&A and for privates. You mention a special 'headphone' splitter cord. I assume what you mean is that you need to connect some headphones to the splitter? That doesn't really work for teaching live, especially if you are doing privates. Is then the Air Pods the only option to have sound guaranteed from the iPad? Thanks, Scott
yogibanker When I have used my phone for zoom classes, I just unplug the microphone before and after class. To use the splitter, you’d still need headphones or a speaker connected. I suppose that could work. Get an AUX splitter cable and hook the audio portion to a speaker like a portable bose? Make sure the splitter has one part for mic and one part for audio. Sorry it’s so complicated.
@@AshleyHagen Thank you. I think for privates, having two-way communication is important. I'll check out the AUX splitter cable. Definitely very complicated!
@@AshleyHagen I solved the issue! Just connect the portable speaker directly to the Yeti. The ipad/iphone will send sound directly to the yeti (where you can hear it with headphones). If you put the speaker directly into the yeti, the sound will be broadcast there.
Hi Ashley thank you for making this video and for taking to time to answer everyone's question which is really helpful. I haven't taught online yet only because I wanted to get the sound right and this will give me a lot of confidence. I also teach dance, what technique would you use for that so I can have music as well as voice.
Great video! I have an Canon m200 for making my videos. I do have a podmic for podcasts and an NT1 for voice over work. I want to start recording my personal training and muay Thai sessions with my coaches. I think the rode wireless go looks amazing. My only confusion is whether it is possible to have both our audio clear on this system. Is there a way to attach a wireless lav mic to it too so both mics run off one receiver, whichn is attached to my camera? Or would I need to just get a boom mic to capture as much as possible from outside the ring? Not sure if this has ever come up for you personally but such a minefield I thought i would ask. Many thanks for any advice you have and great work on your channel!!!!
I don't think you can with the Rode, since it's not a multi-channel microphone. But you CAN with the other microphone I reviewed. The Pixel Voical Air. I use the Rode since it's just me teaching. But with the Pixel, you can have multiple microphones to one receiver. I think I have the link to it in the decription. There are a few other mics out there like the Pixel. They're kind of "knock off" versions and they are cheaper, but the sound quality is still pretty decent.
@@AshleyHagen Thank you so much for taking the time to respond to me Ashley!!! Great advice that really helps me out. Rode got back to me suggesting that I can also get 2 wireless go's attached to the same camera. Looks like your help has just saved me quite a few £s. Super grateful. Just subscribed! Best of luck with your channel!
Good info, Ashley! I've been using the same Rode Wireless Go for my outdoor boot camp classes. I'me still experimenting with the best way to use them for my Facebook Live streaming. I've clipped the mic to the bill of my visor and I've put it on a lanyard around my neck to tuck it into my shirt. With all of jumping around I do, having it clipped to my shirt collar just hasn't worked out well. But I'm sold on the product! Good luck with your classes during this odd time!
If you're doing more high impact classes, i see where that could be a challenge. I'm over here just doing slower moving yoga so clipping it on my shirt works. I like the bill of the visor idea for jumping around. That's great. You could try a lavalier mic attachment, too?
Hi Ashley!! Thank you sooo much for this. I have been a bit overwhelmed looking into microphones and this is super helpful! I'm looking for something that will mainly be used for recording yoga videos (rather than for use in live classes). I read something about this mic only working on line of sight ... does that mean if I clip the mic to my leggings (and use a lav) that it won't work if I turn the other way ... for example in a mandala flow? I will also be doing lots of recording outside and won't necessarily be in a wifi zone. Will it still work? Maybe I'm not fully understanding what line of sight means or how strict it is haha, I'm hoping this is still the mic for me!! Thanks so much for your time and for these videos.
Not true. I turn around all the time with my back facing the screen all the time. Never had issues indoors while recording. But maybe don't put the receiver behind something (computer or what-not) if you are far away. I tested it outside with a Bose speaker outside in this video I linked. At about 20 to 25 feet away, facing backwards, it started to cut out. ruclips.net/video/mhDgT2dYDCY/видео.html

I’m having this problem as well. It was clipped to my shirt doing crunches and it would cut in and out. I’ll have to use this when not teaching live.
Great question!
Awesome. I had the same problem with the mic. The Aux video to USB worked great. Going to use the setup to live stream my son's wedding.
Thank you so much fir sharing this video!! I was so lost with technology! Now it’s much much clear! Sending you blessings from Austria ♥️
Thanks Ashley. I just bought one of these and your demo on how to use it was very helpful. I am a lawn bowls coach and the wires were always a problem. Not anymore, I will use this from now on. Thanks very much.
This is the set up I use as well. Thanks for a fantastic video.
Oh this was so helpful thank you. It took me forever to figure out how to resolve not to be able to listen to your students once you plug in a mic to your device. Your video cleared all doubts. 🙏🙏🙏
YES! Awesome.
Thank you so much for sharing this video. I am looking for solutions to teach my online yoga and dance classes via Zoom. I only just found you here 🙏✨
thank you so much ashley!! due to your video, i went out to purchase this and am very excited...i shot a yoga outside but because of the cars passing by my viewers couldn't hear my video despite the beautiful location outside a buddhist monastery...i am hoping it will work..i have created my own youtube channel promoting yoga and green smoothies so this video of yours will change my life thank you!!
I also just did a video comparing internal mic, yeti, airpods, and this wireless mic and WOW the quality is amazing with this one.
I've been looking for that kind of spesific mic for my yoga videos for a long time. Thanks to you I finally got my answers! Thanks a million Ashley!
It's been a LIFESAVER since I got this back in February and I am never concerned about the audio quality anymore.
Ashley, thank you so much for making your videos. I saw so many tech ones and just got overwhelmed until I saw yours. Very clear and helpful!
I'm so glad! It was confusing to me at first, too, and was also very frustrating. So I'm happy this has been helping so many people.
AHHHHH you are amazing, thank you thank you!!!!! I wish I would have found you sooner!
Thank you sooo much! This is just what I was looking for to upgrade my audio quality in class! 🙏🌟 be blessed!
I'm glad this was helpful!
Namaste
I'm so glad I could help. Good luck!
have to say I LOVED THIS !! Exactly what needed to see. Thank you so much! xx
Thank you so much for your video 🙏💕. I just ordered the Rode Wireless Go including the SC7 and I am looking forward to trying it out next week! Seems like that you have other videos for online yoga teachers on your channel so I subscribed 🤗🙋🏼♀️
How's online teaching going!? Sorry I missed this comment a couple months ago.
Thank you so much Ashley, was looking for this mic, but wasn't sure how it works, now its clear, thank you very much!
I'm so glad I could help!
Such a useful video! One quick question: Does this set-up work on a laptop for zoom classes? 🤞🏼
Yes, that's what I do! I plug in the receiver through the USB cord on my Macbook Pro and it works great!
Thank you! Super helpful video! I teach dance classes online. Will it also pick up the music so my people can hear it well?
Here's how: ruclips.net/video/rGySn0h8nv4/видео.html
I do not play any music in my classes due to copyright issues.
I used to live on Bainbridge Island! I love Poulsbo!
It's definitely a very beautiful place. Where are you now days?
Ah thank you so much! I loved this and your webcam video! Can I ask how you play music on your online classes? I play mine via Zoom but presumably you cant hear the music when the mic is on? Just wondered how you overcame this?
I don't play music at all. I don't teach a lot of online classes that I would need music nowadays.
It's linked in the description.
Thank you, this is so helpful! So clear and concise. Thank you for doing all your research and sharing with us.
I'm glad my videos have been helpful! Are you currently using a wireless microphone?
Very helpful to see the set-up with your explanation of all the cables. Thanks!!!...So, when you attach the Rode receiver to your laptop you still use your iphone to take the video, right? So video and sound come from two different divices? thx!
No, I use a webcam on my laptop. Video and sound come from the same device.
@@AshleyHagen thanks for your fast answer.
How does this mic work with prone postures? I am a yoga therapist, so we spend more time on the belly - than in a traditional vinyasa class.
My Blue Yeti mic connected to my iMac computer.
Many thanks for your reply Ashley very much appreciated.x
Your videos helped us a lot! Thank you
You are very welcome, Don!
Thank you, Ashley! This is very helpful for my dance classes online. :) I have been to Poulsbo before. Very beautiful place. Take care!
Thanks so much for sharing, this was very helpful. It takes a great soul to share all these tips, God bless you
Thank you so much Ashley!! This has been so helpful.
Thx so much ! Do you think having the Lavalier would make a difference ? Would that be an even better sound quality ?
You have to unplug the microphone from your phone in order to hear it back. As for the battery, I've had no issues.
It totally worked with the Zoom settings as you suggested!!! Can’t thank you enough 🙏❤️
Hello, that was so useful! Thank you so much! I wish you all the best from France
hi, thank you so much for this video! I was wondering if it works with Facebook live as well?
Ashley, can you use the rode wireless go to teach live, as in send the sound to a bluetooth speaker, if you were teaching outside for example ?

Thanks for sharing this with us. I was trying to find a way to do it. And this is very simple and affordable. 😄🧘🧘🏻♂️
Yayy nice to see you here!! I came for the same reason 😄♥️
@@AditiChengappa Yesss nice to see you here!! 🥰Manuel just Bought it for me, we are waiting for the airports to be open so He can come to visit me and give me the Microphone.. Take Care 🙅🏼♀️😘
Oh Ashley - thank you ! xxxx
HI Ashley. Great vids, thank you. Question! How do you call the connecting cable from the ROde transmitter to computer? Audio to Hdmi ..; do you have a specification? Can’t find it… Thank you!!
It's an AUX input to USB-A cable.
Thanks!!
Thank you for a great video:)
I have a question.
Two, connecting your phones Bluetooth to a speaker or headphones. ruclips.net/video/zQsnuoBqD6Y/видео.html
thank you very much, your video is the most helpful video. this is just what needed to see. thanks again for your time and upload. really grateful.
Beyond helpful - thankyou for sharing and in such a lovely way xxx
Thank you so much, this has been incredibly helpful especially adding the links! xxx
Can this be used to teach online live? I'm not filming myself but want to use it WHILE teaching online and moving around not just staying n one place.
@@AshleyHagen thank u Ashley
Thanks for the video! I did my YTT200 last year and wanted to start teaching and only have been able to practice "teaching" by making youtube videos. Been looking into the whether I wanted to buy the Rode with an additional lavalier mic, but think I might try it by itself first to improve my sound quality!
Hi, Thanks for the info! At one point you held up the Yeti speaker. Do you use that too? If so, when and how. Thanks
This was SO helpful, thanks Ashley!
This video is so great Ashley! Thanks a lot for the clear explanation, you are a genius!💚
Very helpful about mic. What camera or video set up do you use?
Usually my Logitech C920 webcam on my macbook pro. Sometimes just my iPhone 8.
Hi Ashley! What is the white cord to your phone called? And is that necessary for all phones or just iphone?
Lighting cable adapter. If your phone does not have a headphone jack (iphone 7 and above), you'll need to use the lighting cable adapter. If you have a headphone input, use that. Some other phones, you'll need a USB-c adapter cable.
very great information and i like the idea that there is options
Ah, brilliant Ashley! Like many others I see, I've searching around for solutions and it seems to get complicated with body packs, channels etc. The two rode pieces look so simple. I just wondered if you ever got noise from being attached to clothing particularly in movement? I've had disasters with lavalier mics before.
Once when I was wearing a halter top shirt. Because the rode mic is on one side and not a mic all around like a lav mic, it doesn't pick up as much clothes rustling. BUT, wearing tighter fitting clothing is going to be best anyway. For any attached mic.
So so helpful, thank you so much! Seems crazy that something 'wireless' needs so many cables haha, but at least I know which ones now! Thanks! x
Right??? Exactly what I thought 🤣🤣🤣
thank you for this. Super helpful and very much appreciated.
Mega! Thank you...so clear!
Hi Ashley, if you plug RODE into your phone do you also play your music from there?
Nope.
Do you use music with the rode microphone...share music internally on the laptop or external speaker?
@@AshleyHagen Thank you! That one is helpful as well!
Carole
Did you figure this out? I haven't had this problem unless i have my shirt rubbing on it. But no complaints from my student at all.
Hi Ashley! Would you recommend the Hey Mic Bluetooth one?
I don’t know what that is. I think all Bluetooth microphones sound tunnel-like. I have airpods and Rode Wireless Go.
Get the Rode Wireless Go II - it comes with two microphones.
So helpful ! Thank you for taking the time to share 🙏🏼
@@AshleyHagen Amazing!! Thank you so much for your quick response and for all this info. I watched the video you linked and appreciate that as well. I'm going to go for it!!
Thank you for this video! i was going crazy trying to figure it all out. I bought a cheap one, and it has sooooo much interference. def returning it.
So glad to hear! I didn't even try with a cheaper one. I bought this on a recommendation after I saw another yoga teacher friend using it.
