@@wg.1157 Yeah no... power is actually mostly genetic thing, otherwise we would all hit hard like Liam here... of course you can improve it lil bit with training , but like Firas Zahabi said "a good coach can not teach you how to hit hard, he can only teach you how to hit hardER" meaning you can improve it but there's a limit that is different for everyone. @@ThePitbull994 you're coping hard. Anybody can hit hard. Not everyone can be a KO artist, but if you put in the hours and are in shape you'll hit hard enough eventually
I trained at bad company gym in the late 90s/early 2000s when I still lived in Leeds, Liam was only a teenager then, very talented and focused, it’s amazing what him Rich Cadden,Andy Howson ,Jordan Watson have gone on to achieve, Richard Smith is a brilliant coach! Respect from Australia 🇦🇺
Same way most hooks are thrown in boxing in my experience turning the lead foot over is a cue to teach novices to generate power with their hips but in actual sparring/fights you never really turn your foot over
Firstly, the noise that comes off Liam's strikes are God tier. Secondly, I like how much of what Liam teaches are straight forward, no BS versions of techniques that help you strike your opponent quickly and effectively
the way he snaps with full power and is not moving much of his legs mostly his torso is impressive I do not have a physique to make that easy respect to him for figuring out how to utilize his body for maximum power
Beautiful brother love the the turnover from your hips threw your shoulder even the elbow gets torque .. you can really see how good the technique is from that angle that's perfect
Still throw my hook with that extended heel. Thats what I was taught in boxing but this is another game. Perfect adjustment from Liam who's a complete beast as usual.
Thank you Liam for teaching me to be even more of a beast. Someday i will hopefully be a quarter as good as you are and i will be doing well if i do. You da man ❤
Nice twisting of the upper body as well cause a lot of the power comes with turning the body and shoulders not just swinging you’re arms as hard as you can but turning those shoulders as well when punching
U are truly a terrifying human 😳.. love it ! Mad respect from 🇨🇦 u are the best of the best of the BEST representing whats possible 🙌 when someone aligns their mind focus and desire
It's easy to in Muay Thai when everyone just stands in front of their opponent. Boxers train to hook off the jab, snapping a lead-left hook from the same trajectory of a jab.
Great stuff! Your the best Thai boxer farang I have ever seen on RUclips! Great stuff! Can you do a video on this punch that is not in slow motion? 😳🇦🇺👮🏼♂️🚔🍻👍
great dynamic tension in his hip and lats due to the footwork, therefore the twist and hook will be powerful af. everybody should train their left hook this way for Thai/K1
This is exactly the same form as in boxing as you're not supposed to turn over the knee or the front foot either... Need to be in position to either come back with the right hand or evade a counter.
Hey Liam, well done you've got style, I've watched many Muang Thai kick boxer in Thailand throwing punches, but it looked like they didn't practice the same technique- style as you do, but of course it's all to do with speed - power & practice, plus outwitting your opponent. Keep up your good work & keep on punching - kicking. All the very Best 🙏🌞🍀
Amazing hook! I box and throw the hook the same way. Slight side step, no loading up, slight lean and good hip rotation. No twisting of the leg too much either. No difference in sports imo just by person.
It's crazy how some people are gifted with vicious power such as this, Liam you are a killer.
It’s not a gift, it’s called harddddd fuckin work and dedication

Same, back in 2013! Unreal.

I love to disguise the hook by pretending that I’m gonna throw a cross when I dip my right shoulder and it works really good
Yes, use a set up.
I just use jab and then right hook (I’m southpaw)
I love to disguise the hook by pretending to pay for my shopping. The old checkout lady never sees it coming 🛒
I disguise my hook by rolling down my sleeves but in airports the metal detectors get me.
@@kiboma4209should you do Rjab then Lhook or cross instead of R since you since you're a southpaw?
What a killer hook! Outstanding.

Not just the left hook, Liam throws everything hard af lol
Liam is one of those dudes who just has perfect technique in everything he throws.
I have been watching all of your stuff and you actually commented on a few of my comments. Love your channel. Keep doing this man.
i was the guy in the punching bag and i can confirm he generated a lot of power.
😆
You have our condolences! 😢 lol 😂
I'm the man in the box.
As the power I can confirm he generated me a lot into you
Bro imagine actually being in the bag, getting out and giving someone a heart attack. That would be hilarious
Same way most hooks are thrown in boxing in my experience turning the lead foot over is a cue to teach novices to generate power with their hips but in actual sparring/fights you never really turn your foot over
"not the same way as boxing."
Literally the exact way in boxing.
You are a legend big man
One of the best left hooks I’ve ever seen
awesome tutorial and a vicious left hook! thank you for posting this. much respect!
Firstly, the noise that comes off Liam's strikes are God tier. Secondly, I like how much of what Liam teaches are straight forward, no BS versions of techniques that help you strike your opponent quickly and effectively
Great stuff Liam 👏👍 Pleasure meeting you at ONE Denver, thank you for the priceless advice 🙏
Bro charged my fone to 100% off them hooks
😂
This explains the difference in knock out ratios
Outside the leg kettle bell swing with arms alternatively leading generates a lot of twisting torque. Just don’t overload.
Beautifully executed sir thank you for the knowledge!
Thats the reason why a boxer gives advice for boxing and muay tai for mt.
the way he snaps with full power and is not moving much of his legs mostly his torso is impressive I do not have a physique to make that easy respect to him for figuring out how to utilize his body for maximum power
Great lesson, was just about to call you on that leg, but you were well ahead as you should be. Subscribed!

Looks powerful man.
fantastic tutorial. muay thai hooks are a totally different game
Exactly the hook tutorial I was looking for, thank you. Earned a sub
You definitely hit hard. Nice work.
What a spartan warrior, salute🙋♂️ Liam fellow brit... he's relentless and ruthless none stop war machine
That is one serious left hook man.. great advise to us novices too..thank you!!!
Just seeing that hook could keep you up at night.
It's ferocious.
That's some power you got there ! Thanks for sharing the knowledge ✅🙏
Do not punch anyone like this unless you want to get charged for murder.
Yeah I was thinking the same, that’s a dangerous weapon
That's why we keep it in the ring and don't get into silly fights in bars. It's truly dangerous
Damn. That is a strong hook.
Nice clear demonstration 😎
That hook is game over! May goodness man! Bloody good
Still throw my hook with that extended heel. Thats what I was taught in boxing but this is another game. Perfect adjustment from Liam who's a complete beast as usual.
That's because there are no kicks in boxing... he LITERALLY explained this
This is great. Thank you Liam
That’s a hammer bro ! Nice powerful hook better than mine gives me something to work for. Thank you for the video

Holy shit. If you try to block that, your arm will just fall off.
Not if you're angry and train hard

A good extra bit I once learned is that rather than twisting the front foot: twist the back foot by bringing the heel towards the centerline
I actually practice boxing, but is a very helpful tip anyway to improve my hook.
