      @@wg.1157 Yeah no... power is actually mostly genetic thing, otherwise we would all hit hard like Liam here... of course you can improve it lil bit with training , but like Firas Zahabi said "a good coach can not teach you how to hit hard, he can only teach you how to hit hardER" meaning you can improve it but there's a limit that is different for everyone. Some people are just gifted with nuclear weapons like Nganou, Mike Tyson etc.

    I trained at bad company gym in the late 90s/early 2000s when I still lived in Leeds, Liam was only a teenager then, very talented and focused, it’s amazing what him Rich Cadden,Andy Howson ,Jordan Watson have gone on to achieve, Richard Smith is a brilliant coach! Respect from Australia 🇦🇺

    Same way most hooks are thrown in boxing in my experience turning the lead foot over is a cue to teach novices to generate power with their hips but in actual sparring/fights you never really turn your foot over

    Firstly, the noise that comes off Liam's strikes are God tier. Secondly, I like how much of what Liam teaches are straight forward, no BS versions of techniques that help you strike your opponent quickly and effectively

    Outside the leg kettle bell swing with arms alternatively leading generates a lot of twisting torque. Just don’t overload.

    the way he snaps with full power and is not moving much of his legs mostly his torso is impressive I do not have a physique to make that easy respect to him for figuring out how to utilize his body for maximum power

    Still throw my hook with that extended heel. Thats what I was taught in boxing but this is another game. Perfect adjustment from Liam who's a complete beast as usual.

    Nice twisting of the upper body as well cause a lot of the power comes with turning the body and shoulders not just swinging you’re arms as hard as you can but turning those shoulders as well when punching

    It's easy to in Muay Thai when everyone just stands in front of their opponent. Boxers train to hook off the jab, snapping a lead-left hook from the same trajectory of a jab.

    A good extra bit I once learned is that rather than twisting the front foot: twist the back foot by bringing the heel towards the centerline

    This is exactly the same form as in boxing as you're not supposed to turn over the knee or the front foot either... Need to be in position to either come back with the right hand or evade a counter.

    Amazing hook! I box and throw the hook the same way. Slight side step, no loading up, slight lean and good hip rotation. No twisting of the leg too much either. No difference in sports imo just by person.
