Imagine being the monk standing next to her, the girl either died on the spot or just vanished, probably adding mythos to her already notorious moniker.
I'd like to think the Buddha sent her on a spiritual journey of sorts, and the whole story is taking place in the few seconds or minutes she's praying in the temple.
From the looks of it yeah. In her world the "monsters" were people. In this world a monster could be anything from bunnies, humans (undeads for example) or even freaken treasure chests (mimics)@@takashishin8282
In the Shadow of the Leaves, or the Hagakure, was a book made by a real life samurai that purposely described how real samurai felt after the war(Sengoku Jidai) and of the samurai of later generations and what they thought. It’s one of the other Japanese great military works aside from the Book of Five Rings. It gives pretty solid wisdom at times, at least in a warrior’s sense.
From my "common", ignorant point of view, this way of living seems completly insane. Did samurai really slain their masters like that ? I can get wishing for a warrior's death, but killing a master is such a waste
@@DesignThinkerer I don’t think they ever did do that, but the idea behind it is you have to become so proficient in the art/sword style that you can beat the very guy that founded it, and the standard for “beating” or “victory” in this scenario is the death of the master. Guess that’s also an interpretation of victory or death.
Hagakure remained obscure for two centuries and wasn't read or published outside of the small province where it was written until the 1900s. It doesn't describe any consensus view of "how the samurai felt," it describes one aging low-level bureaucrat's view of how his younger proteges should live their lives. It became famous because was useful to (mostly militarist) myth-makers seeking to retroactively construct an idealized view of the samurai, forty years after the samurai class had already been abolished. As for the samurai's conception of themselves in the time of their flourishing, it was (like anything in history) complicated and debated. I'd recommend John Tucker's "The Forty-Seven Ronin: A Vendetta in History" for a more balanced view of how the samurai thought about themselves (and also an excellent overview of the most notorious vendetta of the Edo period).
BASED AF budha just calmly saying "aight" got to me also, the various sound effects used throughout the recap made it all the more enjoyable. im gonna invest myself with this manga. shits great
3:06 WOW... this is peak writing... so poetic. Im speechless, it hits every right not, and this "audiomanga" is the medium i didnt know i needed, so engrocing!
Love that this is somewhat an homage to samurai X (being her colored clothing and some scars across her face ). The fight scene capture a still image while giving motion (action )to each swing.
I guess a long-term point of the story is her finding other reasons to fight, than to die and also reasons to live. Maybe even some struggles coming to terms with killing her own father as they seemed like a loving family in flashbacks.
Oddly enough, I both like and don't like that idea. Like since it's character growth, Dislike since it invalidates both her and her father's ideals. I'd prefer that she learns that there's more to a Samurai than a glorious death, but still honors and respect the idea of a Glorious Death
This turned out to be better than expected. I get the feeling that she wasn't knocked out during the war, but instead went berserker and soloed the war before coming to her senses. Otherwise you expect me to believe that a soldier just fell unconscious standing up in the middle of a war zone and was the only one to not only return alive but unharmed as well. Also also, if that was the case that she got "lucky" in her survival, that could potentially mean that fighters of her caliber may be common from her world. Now imagine if a group of THAT wound up in a world like this.
i read up to 17. thats all that is available rn. MAN is this a bop. art style be incredibly annoyingly amazing too. its probably actually a masterpiece. thisll get an anime im sure.
i couldn't help but laugh at the references from the names. King Arthur, Avalon, Miko(Japanese Priestess, and Ginko(Something about a tree or something). Heck! Even Loki from Norse mythology is here! Side Note: Sunflower Bullets!? Yuuka(Touhou) would be proud!!!

Listen, I am loving this manga. Seeing a samurai take on a bunch of other different opponents like a mage and whooping as is FREAKING FIRE 🔥I DEMAND part 2 of this Manga ✌️🤩✌️😁
This one is amazing sad to see its not animated but instead we get "my wife got reincarnated into a preschooler"or something like that what a waste of talent man
Now this is refreshing. Taking all the stereotypes and putting them on their heads. I also can't help but find it really funny, that someone from "isekai land" (Japan) gets isekai'd but doesn't know isekai. It totally makes sense, don't get me wrong, but from a meta perspective, this really cracks me up.
Kind interesting not only seeing a female in isekai scenario but one from the past rather than present which often used alot. I hope you have more chapters of this cause i was getting tired of isekai genre but this one peaked my interest
The thing about that Japanese bow being the strongest in the world is, while I dunno if it's true anymore, it was true for a very long time. In fact the combined popularity and strength of bows in Japan is why you never see Samurai wearing shields and instead made armor designed to be the shields and generally used mobile barricades instead Disclaimer that I know this from curiosity and googling it one day and going on a 3 hour knowledge bender. So, don't take my words as proof and double check before you site anything
Yeah in medevil eras japenese areas would by far be the strongest just about everything about them was made to be the best weapon from all over the entire world without seeing others not just in how there made but how samurai were trained they trained to use basically a mounted cross bow as a normal hand held bow the only main diffrence between them and anywhere else is just about every place had more or less standard training that everyone knew about Japan they more or less made there own style
Picture standing beside the monk witnessing the girl's mysterious fate-did she perish instantly or simply vanish, adding a touch of myth to her already infamous reputation? Surprisingly, this unfolded even more impressively than anticipated. It feels implausible that she merely blacked out in the midst of war; it's more plausible that she unleashed a berserker fury, single-handedly conquering the conflict before regaining composure. Can we believe a soldier just collapsed on the battlefield, only to return unscathed and the sole survivor? If this was luck, it hints that warriors of her caliber might be commonplace in her realm. Now, envision a collective of such formidable fighters ending up in a world like ours.
HOOOOOOLY SHITE! What an amazing manga!!!! Truly, one of the most top notch, unique, bloody, imaginative isekais ever! I'm pissed about how the video stopped, but I'll be hoping to follow 200 more chapters of this one!
