Thank you Dr. Ganguli for making this video. I always keep thinking about the amount of details I should give in the research statement. If I write it too specific, chances are that some of it might get scooped (even unintentionally), and if I write it too broad, then it may come across as hand wavy explanation. Would you recommend to put some figures accompanying the ideas for future ?
Today, I noticed that I made an error in my CV while filling the ETH Zurich form. I immediately rectified it. I have sent that CV to 3 more European universities and got rejected by 1 till date. Actually, I mentioned earlier that I did my msc dissertation from August 2023 to April 2023, instead of April 2024. Will the admissions committee of the other two universities totally discard my application after identifying that mistake?
Well the error is quite a major one. Many people may get the context but academics may get perturbed. May be better to send your corrected CV if possible. It is always good to double check the resume and cv for factual accuracy and spelling mistakes etc. Get the Professor job with a Good CV! ruclips.net/video/dC1WLojgOZw/видео.html
@@academicgladiator well it is hard to say. They also have other documents like transcripts etc which will show the right dates for the degrees. So it may be ok.
Thank you so much Dr. Ganguli for this video! I am from a biomedical/microbiology field, I found your all suggestions really helpful.
Thanks
Thank you sir for enlightening me. I am applying for a faculty position. So, I need to write research statement urgently.

Research statements typically have only text. But proposals can have figured etc

@@Drganguli Sir, I have applied for PhD positions, not faculty jobs. Will that error totally ruin the credibility of my application?
