Yeah, I was looking at his numbers and he was almost a career 300 hitter with a little power and with 11 gold gloves. Ozzie Smith was like a 260 hitter with zero power and had 13 gold gloves, and he got in just on defense alone.
@@Dan-tt8sn Not saying Hernandez does or does not deserve to be in the Hall of Fame, although my feeling is that he doesn't. Here is a great way to solve this Jones, Hunter, Petitte, Sabathia vote debate. None of them are HOF’ers. Although, the HOF is definitely watered down now.
Luis Castillo is held up a bit because Cubs are the best offer, but they can't send Nico Hoerner until they Sign Bergman. Then Nico is freed up to be traded. Cubs could also free up the ability to trade Suzuki by signing DH Pete Alonso. Currently have 45mil until 1st Threshold so Cubs can do this pretty easy just alot of moving parts especially trying to sign 2 Boras clients both around 27mil per over 4years. Cubs are also interested in a Dodgers Catching prospect who is blocked. Also Very Interested in Twins Closer Jhoan Duran which could cost them Top 40 Prospect Alcantara, but is worth it. Good question is do Mariners want to go after Suzuki And Hoerner? Huge fans of Suzuki. Cube have a chance here to become a Dodger/Yankee level team, restock their top farm, while staying under the 1st Threshold this year so they can go over it next year
Keith Hernandez won MVP and was a defensive force at 1B....i have never seen better defensive 1B since he played ....he made the whole infield play better defense
You guys don't know what you're talking about when it comes to Gavin Lux. Lux can absolutely not play any position but second base. He is a disaster at third base because he's got a weak arm and throwing problems and Dodgers tried playing him in left field and he was horrible defensively.
O's have a few things that need to settle before the wallet opens up. The MASN payout issue with the Nats need to be resolved. The Stadium upgrade planned for next year will bring in more cash flow. The O's are going to be fine.
The $320.5M hasn't changed hands yet. MLB TR had an update on the dispute a few days ago that stated the Nats are petitioning the courts to confirm the MLB decision. Rubes apparently stated his desire to keep those discussions "away from the lawyers", so stay tuned.
The Mariners need a big bat! Obviously they can't just do it with what they added. They need a number 4-5 hitter to protect what they already have. Great pitching, eeeehhh offense
@nunzi83 That should tell you everything. You simply do not understand how value is created on the diamond. Take the hint, and figure out why. The game will be much more interesting once you do that.
@ how miserable are you in life or how much does your family and everyone around you hate you that you respond to ppl like this when talking about baseball. Something thats fun. But back to my reasoning/thought. look at Delgados career/seasons he’s had. He put up big WAR numbers playing 1B which isn’t easy. Especially in the ERA he played in. When there’s convos about Rollins and players like Utley getting HOF votes and staying on the ballot… which i don’t think either should be in the HOF. Someone like Delgado should of least had some votes and been on the ballot. You telling me Delgado didn’t have a 7-10 year stretch of being one of the top players in the game? (That’s a HOF argument). Delgado not being on any ballots has a lot to do with off the field issues as well.
AJ's clearly a moron. A tribute to the idea that you can have played the game---it doesn't mean you know a damned thing about value is created in baseball.
Luis castillo should come to Dodgers for joe Kelly in 2025 to repeat World Series title champions again and release Ryan brasier to seattle both of them for castillo in 2025 two pitchers from the dodgers for him in Dodgers team in 2025
Rooker isn't a DH. Is he a gold glover? No. But Giancarlo Stanton plays the field every year, I think it's rude to call guys who have DH'd and aren't great fielders DHs. Nobody played DH in little league. Everybody has a position.
They have prospects like kerjested they have to play and give an oppertunity. Santandar is a one diminsonsl player who deserves more that what the orioles should offer. Plus he isnt signed yet, so we will see.
I remember when the HOF was for the very best of the best now not so much. Jimmy Rollins and Chase Utley aren't even close to HOFers. While we're at it can we take Rolen and Alan Trammell out of the Hall because neither of them are HOFers either.
Which is why I think it’s criminal that Harold Baines is in the HOF, but not Lou Whitaker. One of the best and most consistent infielders of his era. His numbers speak for themselves. Consistency and longevity has some weight as to how we determine whether or not someone is a HOF.
Ken. Continuing to be Ken. Spend more money to be better because... that... how be better....blah blah blah. I'm 43yrs old and Ken has been trying to explain the O's my entire life. Now, Elias has a handle on this thing, and no one is going to do a worse job figuring it out than Ken...

Another example how bad the Dodger farm system has fallen!!! They don’t develop position players and the pitching prospects are not taught to pitch, just to throw hard as they can until their arm needs surgery. I’ll guess Andrew Friedman will move on when Mookie and Freddie retire thus leaving the next GM to clean up the deferral money while trying to build a competitive team that hasn’t developed their farm system.
Dodgers are NOT the only team pitching problems with their arms? Other owners can deferred money as well. Just putting that money in their pockets! So that argument falls short 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
It’s pretty sad when the A’s are trying harder this offseason then the Mariners.
the dodgers don't settle i despise them but i admire their aggressiveness they want to get better and compete for another WS title.
