I heard her friend say he brought a Chevy SS earlier in the video...was hoping she would film them and she did! Was treated to 2 of them, a 2015 and a 2017! Not including the one in my driveway, I rarely see these around town, and when I do, they typically are sporting the Holden badges.
You can thank GM for the destruction of Holden and those SS's are now collector items. Some of the last cars ever made in Australia.

Sucks what happened to Phoenix but kudos to you and your team for pushing the limits to find how far you can push her and working out the mod bugs on a new platform.
I can tell this was a pretty upsetting track day overall, but I hope you can find space to be proud of yourself. You're teaching the whole community the limits of a new chassis. It's groundbreaking (and transmission breaking...) work, and who knows how many improved clutch designs you'll inspire in the future ;)

I remember going after the world record in the c7 zo6 Corvette these type of things happen when you're pushing parts to the absolute limit especially in your case when tuning and parts are on the low end of what's available at the moment because it's so new I was dealing with the same thing almost hopefully things get back together quick and nobody comes and takes your record while she's down if that happens you'll just have to take it back again no big deal lol but seriously though congratulations Emelia just think out of everybody in the world that has that car you are the fastest even out of all the performance shops that are trying .. props to you and your team

Hi Emelia I hope you read this I love your content and how hard you keep pushing yourself. I know you've talked to Cleetus before but if you will take me meats and doing the ignition cut out your shift RPM like you have to do for Phoenix in theory you should be able to no lift shift without the clutch. Kevin from ksr did it for Leroy and in turn the shiftes are three 2 four times faster and I think it's something worth looking into. When you do the ignition cuts at your shift RPM all you have to do is make sure you have the right milisecond cut at ur desired shift rpm for the ignition. Then go full send. LOL but just FYI I think Kevin kosor is using something between a 70 2 100 millisecond delay ignition cut and Leroy picked up a significant amount of time for Cleetus. But the information is out there I highly doubt these things ever get read but I'm incredibly proud of how far you've came in the fact that you never give up it's a big inspiration to the younger generation to follow your dreams and never give up no matter what preservation is key in life. So keep doing what you do girl I can't wait to see how fast you go next. Ecrew stand up and give this girl some respect! Church 💯

There’s got to be some company that has their shit together enough to find a way to figure out how to keep a belt on a LS motor while going down the track cause it’s not just the grim regal that has that problem.
It's an amazing business opportunity for any business capable of doing it.

You can hear the clutches slipping in the upper gears. Needs more plates. Might need a bigger basket though since I think we saw in a previous video that Dodson already added extra plates. This is a trick we've been doing in motorcycles for decades and we do to GTR's. You can only increase the holding pressure so much. Might also need to upgrade the pump. When we build GTR transmissions, we upgrade the pump.

at Englishtown Drag in a 1969 Z28 in 1978. Car was scary fast and did wheelies, chicks loved it !

Advanced Tips:
Use Royal Purple oils 🛢
Motor oil:
•XPR 10W 60
Trans:
•75w 140
The secret ingredient:
Save the ash from Sandy's smokes.
Throughly mix the ashes into the oil, like you would for paints. Throughly mix it. Throughly mix it. That's key.
It will increase the temp that the oil can contain, by increasing the Carbon content. Which makes the oil stronger.

Or find someone that makes Graphene Oils.

Because you're running too thin of oil for the application on ur vehicles. So it's going to overheat. Thin oils have too much "water content" making them overheat easier. And making them run out of the engine past the seals under boost.
Also possibly warping parts in the Aluminum blocks overtime when they overheat.

Liquid Nitrogen is also a smart use for Radiators. Cooling.
Some people use it in computers, to reduce heat and maintain performance.

Also, for the Corvette trans. Someone needs to custom fabricate some trans parts. Carbon Metals. Mixing Carbon into the forging/casting processes. Making the metals stronger.
You can Google Metals and materials with high melting points. Graphene is best currently. But not many people if any make engine/vehicle parts with it.
So Carbon is the next best "common use" material that can be custom fabricated. Which is also rarely used.
Ash from smokes is a Solid Carbon source, since it burns at a very high temp.
For engine blocks, engine parts, brakes, body, etc..
Better than Carbon Fiber which is a weave, and is not strong under tension.
Carbon Forging is better, more reliable with metals like Aluminum. So it doesn't add weight like Iron Blocks. Adds more strength to the Aluminum.
The trans needs to be 2 quarts over filled for track use. It's in your owners manual.

I like the little red stripe at top of steering wheel to remind drivers of proper steering wheel orientation for this race course.
On the gm 3.8 thats supercharged guys use a "belt wrap". Probably a better term for it. But its basically adding another small pulley to remove any extra slack when the tensioner is limited out.

Emelia Congratulations on breaking the Record!! You should consider putting a Holley Dominator EFI ECU!! You can have the Holley and have the Corvettes ECU for in car functionality.

Love the VF Commodores alongside (Chevy SS). Over here (Australia) they rip off the Holden badges and put Chevy ones on. Over there they replace the Chevy badges with Holden ones!

If you have to rebuild transmission it would the best to change the rear main seal and upgrade the transmission and torque if possible. If it's a manual replace the clutches with racing grade clutches.
Remember that one time, at the drag strip, where we just cleaned up the oil slick and ran it? yeah.. about that....

It always throws me off when they say Famoso is in Bakersfield because I live on the edge of Bakersfield and Famoso is still 30 minutes away in McFarland. I know it's for recognition and whatnot, but being from here and often deciding that Famoso is farther than I want to drive to watch some racing it just sounds weird. I wish it was in Bakersfield, I miss hearing bald eagles in the distance ever since they took our circle track and moved it half an hour out of town
Mimi is an animal it takes a lot to get them G bodies dialed in but you're making great progress with it it'll help a lot more once you get a better transmission then you'll be able to launch in a lot harder and actually dial the suspension in to take the hit

Keep your head up girl. You and your team will figure it out. This is the stuff to learn from. You will only get faster from here.
Well if you looked in the manual, they say to add 2 quarts of transmission fluid, before taking it to the track. The Factory would ask for a break in then they would fill it at the dealership. The thing is each quart is $50 ... there are 4 bolts on top, which your not supposed to touch. Dealership techs are not trained to work on that service.
Screw the dealership.
@@airgliderz Well the thing is to fill it it with the fluid, you can't just go to jiffy lube and have them do it because even there they are not able to perform that service. The filler bolt is on top, though there is no indication which one it is. If the retaining nut falls from 1 of the 4 transmission has to be towed to the dealership and if driven it transmission would be junk and if they find out I was tampered. Warranty won't pay for it.
The 1st C8 Corvette went to service station at the dealership. It fell off the lift, because the engine and transmission are in the rear. GM techs were not used to to new weight distribution, and on tire rotation, the tech removed the front wheel 1st an the rear end fell off with the lift arm cutting the rear corner panels. There's even footage of this event in RUclips of the the aftermath. A learning, new training was required for all C8 service.
@@airgliderz C8 was an uncharted place... that was the main reason GM stayed away. The unknowns, during research and development under winter snow ❄ conditions. 2 C8 Corvettes Overheated, they used to burn when the engine was in front. Due to the very small inlet in front, and putting the engine in the rear didn't help either. They should have never made the convertible, and added a roof scoop.

@@ChasingDifferentAdventures uncharted? Not. GM as you stated was thoroughly tested the C8, leaked/"reported" failures during testing are expected and normal and do not/should reflect on the final product. C8 was never offered as a front engined car as you seem to infer.

Is it MiMi or the Grim Regal? I like MiMi much better! With the right trans/tune and gearing, she will def pull 9s. Grandma would be so proud. For the C8...I'm watching this C8 in particular. This is what I inspire to do. Work with supercars just like yours. After many years of contemplating what I want as a career, the GM brand has sealed my future. As you were running the first couple passes I couldn't help but think, "does she have a GDS2? I'm sure the data logging would be of much help." Phoenix and MiMi are definitely to record breaking machines and I'm happy to see the progress you're making with both 🤙
