Me and my Mom played through this together back when it came out but we could never get past the Hand to Hand w/ The Mayor. Sad to see we were so close to beating the game. But we had a blast playing.

I genuinely loved this game. The diving and slow time bullets absolutely blew my mind back then. I loved running around with pistols killing everyone. The prison sequence was my favourite
First dead to rights game I’ve played on the PlayStation 2 back then in well I’ve played this awesome game back in 2008or 07. Yes, I know the game came out 21 yrs ago in 2002. But this DTR game was my freaking favorite of all time. Hands freaking down! The best DTR Game ever imo. Luv it! Luv ur content my friend! And I luv this video right here man. This game was so freaking fun 2 play a lot back then for me and 4 everyone else tho! Love this game like a ton! Idc what any one says bout this awesome masterpiece game! I literally don’t even care! This game was my freaking childhood 100%! Luv it! You got yourself a new sub. Which is me I’m ur new sub on ur RUclips channel! Love it a lot man. And one of ur 1st YT Vids that I saw from u is this! Luv this vid a lot man. New sub!
I still remember this game as the *"No No No!!"* moment when I damn near broke my brand new PS2 turning it off when my dad walked in to the living room during the stripper minigame
When he said 21 years. Wow I'm 31 and I remember playing this as a kid with my brothers. I beat the shit out of this game. I think in my personal opinion. I could go back and play it and enjoy it as much as I did as a kid. It was so fun man. I wish I could go back 5:18
I still love this game, the prison levels always drag a bit to me but i always go back to it. Playing it on xbox series x in 4k 60fps was worth a replay. the sequel and psp game were a let down but retribution was pretty good
i have great memories of the dog Shadow more than the main character or the actual game title 😂 if not for this video I would of never knew again.. the dog mechanic is just not that common in video games
The first DTR Games DTR 2 3 reckoning & 4 Retribution I’ve only heard of these 1st recent DTR Games. But, just never played those 3 games before. I’ve only just played just this DTR Game back on my PlayStation 2 a long time ago back then! Again, great DTR Game imo! Luv it. 👌😎
Fun fact, depending on what platform you play this on the difficulty changes with the GameCube being the easiest and the Xbox being the hardest for the hardcore gamers.
"Dead Of Rights" back then before we had high quality HD gaming was considered a good game. This game had "GTA 3" background environment city graphics. Then add "Stranglehold 's" Shoot & table top slide elements, "Streets Of Rage" combat fights & "Max Payne" vibes......I think the nostalgia is what keeps this game today interesting....if this game would came out today....it's probably wouldn't fly with next Gen gamers. To them this is considered primitive. But us OG gamers, it was a okay game..... 🎮🕹️🤔🕹️🎮🤔🕹️🎮
One of my favorite action game series ever, really wish that they were able to develop their free roam sequel that they wanted but Retribution didnt sell well enough to justify it
My god, I remember almost at the end of the mission/chapter 3 the prison where the part where you’re in the tunnel mine trying to escape & trying to find ur way out with the tunnel mine map on the upper right corner side of the game screen, the tunnel mine mission on the chapter 3 where you’re trying to find a way out. Man that part of chapter 3 was so fuckin hard to get past back then when I’ve played this game. But the part that was hard on chapter 3 (prison tunnel mine part) like when u get very far on the tunnel mine part of the level u get to the part where u lose the dotting line on the map and then that’s when u get lost in the tunnel to the way that guide u out of the tunnel and in the escape room where u have to shoot all of the Enemies and proceed to climb up the ladder. Like just losing track on the dotting line on the blue map on that tunnel prison mine part it was so freaking hard! For a few reasons! 1. You’ll have no idea where you’re going to find the way out 2. that’s when I have to try & figure out which way I’m guiding myself out of the tunnel to stay in track with the dotting line so that way it will seem like I’m going the right way & the right direction tho 3. That’s when I’ll know where I’m going in the tunnel so it can be that I’m going the right way so I can find the way out of the tunnel. Or, that I can find an exit door that it will lead me to a lot & sworn of enemies straight to the exit! But yeah the last part on chapter 3 the tunnel mine part of the mission/lvl. Man oh man, it got hard at first cuz it was struggling for me to find my way out of the tunnel cave thing to find the way out & the exit to complete the lvl. But then, later on! It gotten way easier for me! Like I say man this game gets easier at the start of the game. But, as u proceed lord and lots of times through all the mission & easier mission. That’s when the game seem to get difficult & harder & hard as fuck! To where you’ll constantly die a lot & fail on some certain chapter/ mission! So the ending of chapter 3 imo with the tunnel mine that 1. That 1 was the hardest of all parts of chapter 3 that it was hard 4 me 2 get pass! But then, it got easier as I got used 2 it later on in the game.
The throwing away of his gun I just chocked up to it not being traced back to him via ballistics but honestly still doesn't make a whole lot of sense considering he doesn't exactly try to hide what he intends on doing.
Rockstar really inovated the gaming scene with GTA 3 and max payne (with an horoable mention of get away), bethesda's morrowind and fallout as far as rpgs and halo as far as health/shield regen. There is still a charm that it has that caused me to buy it a few years ago. I also found out that there was a comic book that ties into the story to a point and I ordered it off of Amazon. As for the story, I can say that a lot of it was bad but I really didn't like how the female characters were handled, most notably Hildy's betrayal because it almost felt like that was a swerve.
