i understand this pain lol i switched from alto to bari a few months ago, it seems like its not worth it but once you start to understand how to play it, its worth it, its mainly just the "mouthing" thats different.
@@balleater6996 yesterday went into a trance-like state trying to practice my scales, just repeating and trying to get high D. Still squeaky, but getting there Definitely get what you mean with the “mouthing” bit. I miss the simplicity of alto 😭

I am in 9th grade with my tenor and am in the jazz band with mostly 11th and 12th grades but some 9th graders I bought an Otto link super tone master and man it made my jazz tone so good
We did sleigh ride for school, dropped the music half way through, and got along by playing the root and the fifth of the key until I picked up the music

omg same! im a tenor sax player and I only have one other tenor friend and we have a single trombone and baritone :') we take their parts over. we have no bari saxes or bass clarinets. we have like five altos tho. its so cool to find other tenor friends out there :)

Hello :) Nice video. Just a sax technique suggestion- try to ensure that you are not loosening your embouchure so much. Try inhaling air from the top of your mouth and keeping the embouchure intact as much as possible. It will help get better definition, tone and response.
Good tip 👍 (I wanted to disagree at first, because the Bari player has decent tone). I wonder if he’s just bored and moving around to stay interested .
He is doing a great job, for sure but there is always room for improvement (for all of us). Check out how Arno Bornkamp plays Bari- it is masterful and clear as day.
I love it way more than my primary instrument (flute) and im 5’3! I’m also gonna use it in my high school marching band within the next two years haha, height is not an issue ;)
@@pierretan2840 heck yeah! I switched to bari a few months ago, and I'm on a dented up YBS-62. I use Bari and Legere reeds, because I'm too lazy for cane, and it saves time setting up in band.

Just because I can't see the trumpets in the back doesn't mean they're here.... they're always here. Also string bass is a relatively low instrument, I'd be surprised if anyone heard it

I finally found my part. After like a month of searching. I've been playing back for almost 2 years after switching from alto which I still have.
Long tones on the mouthpiece on a D for Bari and A for alto is the key to tone
