- Your train is no longer limited to locomotive sounds! This 16-bit, universal-style Digital Sound Decoder is the only DCC decoder to replicate railcar sounds and lighting effects. It includes selections for livestock sounds, airhorns, whistles, bells, and interior and exterior lighting effects for passenger cars, cab cars, and cabooses.
In this video, George shows off some of SoundCars features and shows you how easy consisting with SoundCar is!

Hi George just wanted to say thank you again for helping me on the phone the other day
Of course! Happy to help.
thanks George
thanks for watching
Hi George/Soundtraxx, thanks for the video. Are there any plans to bring out a blunami version of the soundcar by any chance?
This is not currently in the works, but we will keep the idea in mind!
@SoundtraxxDCC please do; when you get exposed to how easy it is to program with Blunami you don't want to go back lol. Decoder Pro will have to do.
I second this. It would be big for us 3 railers 😀
It would be nice to offer a slightly less expensive decoder for basic freight car sounds. For example a single sheathed box car or wood refer.
That’s all included. The hardware is the same if we provide less sounds, so it would not save any $$ for less sounds.. but you can make all those settings to make the sounds for the boxcars and such. Just disable the horns, bells and refrigeration unit in the CVs and you’ll be done. Contact us at support for more details.
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for the feedback. Do keep in mind you can use SoundCar to add sound to your whole train, but you don't need it in every car. We recommend about every 4 cars or so.
Thanks for your reply. Every 4 cars is still a lot of sound car decoders. I have about 150 freight cars.
Hey, George! Any plans for a smaller soundcar decoder to better fit inside of N scale cab cars such as the ones produced by Kato and Athearn?
Not currently. This version can fit in quite a few models. If you need tips on this reach out to our Support Team: 9970)259-0690 or support@soundtraxx.com
Something I was wondering is can the sound-car produce the coupler slack sound like bangs and thuds it would be cool if the decoder could do that
No. The slack action would be based on movement, and without some more expensive electronics installed, this would be difficult to do. So, we have all the sounds and such based on the DCC commands. and the slack action, while we thought about it, would be triggered at SS1, when your actual model may not move for a few seconds depending on the length of the train, thereby ruining the effect.
So, for now, no.. Sorry.
I hope this helps!

@@SoundtraxxDCC could be added via a gyro, movement sensor,
Hi George. I have a couple of non soundtraxx steam locos. The rest of my locos are all soundtraxx. Do the sound cars still work ok with the non soundtraxx locos?
Yes! The DCC signal is the overall command, so it really does not matter which decoder you pull it with, the DCC command is ultimately the command the SoundCar follows. So, when you consist it to the loco, you are actually telling the SoundCar decoder to follow commands sent to the DCC address of the loco (or consist) of the train. And all commands sent to that address then are followed based on the settings in CVs 21 and 22 to tell the SC decoder how to respond..
I hope this helps. If you need further assistance, contact us at support@soundtraxx.com
Thank you!

Can’t hear anything but the guy talking. Put the microphone at the model level.
Thanks for the feedback
