"Music from the Elder" is my second-favorite KISS album (after "Destroyer", which literally changed my life forever, having been exposed to it at the age of not-quite-13), but I gather, from quite a few print interviews, that they regard this album with embarrassment. I don't understand that; this was the album that should have silenced the critics ... forever. \m/
Paul Stanley's amazing... though this album was trashed, it was made during the band at their tightest imo, and it really shows in the live performance especially
SO FUKING UNDERATED SONG ITS O OVERPOWERING RIGHT NOW I WANT TO FIGHT A DRAGON BAREHANDED AND THEN RIP ITS FUKING HEAD OFF AHHHH AND THEN SCREAM ON TOP OF A MOUNTAIN WHIT LIGHTING AND A RAIN OF FIRE AND SNOWING AT THE SAME TIME WHIT A VOLCANO ERUPTING AT MY BACK WHIT THE SKYS RED AND WAR DOWN THE MOUNTAIN SO BADASS
This is a jam. It's wierd with KISS, because this is one of their songs that borders on cheese, but they save themselves by going to a note, or chord and melody change that makes it cool.
I love 80s hair KISS, but this song gives a glimpse that KISS could have evolved into an American power metal act. This song is like Spinal Tap's Stonehenge. Imagine if KISS had turned into a Maiden/Priest type band instead of copying all the guys on the Sunset Strip?
I have a hearing loss so without the lyrics I couldn't learn the songs thanx. This is the 1st time know in what they r singing wish they had pur them with the album
I thought the lyric towards the first of the video said "Fiery Hat". I was like... oooo kay..... I've been to the weird part of the internet, and now I'm at the weird part of KISS.
@@metalhawk66 And don't forget some of the work from Judas Priest in the 70s. All in all, we could probably follow it's roots back to the early Queen records.
This song is one of kiss heaveast songs,it is such a great song very underrated offer great album which people just didn't get in the time so so unfortunate, a lot of people heard this album they didn't get it and they switched off kiss,,if this album would have been a success the creatures of the night tour would have been a massive success instead of not selling tickets
They have played it on previous tours but unfortunately pauls voice was well and truly gone and it didn't sound that great I wish he would have sang it during the 80s and 90s when his voice was at his best
I love " The Oath " ... my favorite song on the album and yes , now that I read the lyrics - it is Empowering . I just wonder ... Is " HollyWeird " ever going to make a movie out of The Elder ? It could be in the same style as perhaps " Lord Of The Rings , Star Wars or Harry Potter " ?! Just saying ...
For all of Kiss's sappy love songs ballads, this song has deep lyrics. This song and god of thunder show that they're holding their end of the oath as servants of Satan.
I used to be a Kiss fan I kind of stopped when Peter and Ace left and when they took of the make up. To me when Peter and Ace left and when they took off the make up of the magic Kiss once had died.
So powerful. One of the best KISS songs ever.
This album is so unjustifiedly underrated and this song song is living proof of that
This is seriously one of the best all time Kiss songs!
Kiss is the best! "The Elder" is one of my all time favorite albums!
Damn! That VOICE! 💖

Great song, great album, I was nine years old when I first heard this one, blew my mind.
thanx to all the great Kiss fans who have said nice things about "The Oath" (i wrote the lyric) and my other song on The Elder "Odyssey" peace, t.
+Tony Powers
Great lyrics......and I LOVE 'Odyssey' - thank you so much for that beautiful song.
+debgibsonfan thank you for the props. peace, t.
Great song!! love the lyrics!!!
Tony Powers I wrote the lyrics to Escape from the island.
Rick...LOL!! You did a great job.
Paul Stanley's amazing... though this album was trashed, it was made during the band at their tightest imo, and it really shows in the live performance especially
Excellent!!Love this album and this song.Kiss should play this songs live!
You know this the first time I've actually listen to this song and been able to follow along with the lyrics and I find the lyrics very empowering
I've loved that album since it came out and you are awesome for using the "Kiss" font on it!
A very underrated record. This one and Just A Boy make it worth, though I don´t care for World Without Heroes...

Underrated song! One of Best Song of Kiss^^
This song sounds familliary But I Love IT :D
This is a jam. It's wierd with KISS, because this is one of their songs that borders on cheese, but they save themselves by going to a note, or chord and melody change that makes it cool.
It sounds to me, that Paul is saying, "Your power. I trust it runs with me".
Love and appreciation.
Luv this album so underrated.
For over 30 years, I thought the lyric was "fiery hat"! Now I know it's "fiery hot"! Thanks youtube!
JENDALL714 I love this song,, it kind of resembles the band's past as well as them moving on to their future..... I love your Picture!!! 👍

years before Nightwish doing this style .. was the Masterpiece The Elder
MAGNIFIC ALBUM
While this album is maybe below KISS standards, this song is one of their best.
I think I like it the best of all their songs, God of thunder exempt.
good song thanks for the lyrics
4:30 wheres the fox !! RIP Eric Carr!
me encanta esta canción, por como empieza y por la letras
2 more happy persons right here, me having a split personality and all.
to me one of their heaviest shits right here only to tsand besides god ot hunder
Kiss rules period
paul pulled this band through everything good or bad he did it all
stevo go in off Paul Stanley has been a workaholic since the days of wicked lester.....
stevo go in off P.S. is a more powerful member of KISS than Simmons is....
oh I know paul is the best ever
I Wonder why Gene is getting way more money than him

An epic song fit for an anthem. The album is so underrated but it is my fav. The other killer album is creatures of the night.
I thought the lyric towards the first of the video said "Fiery Hat". I was like... oooo kay..... I've been to the weird part of the internet, and now I'm at the weird part of KISS.
the Worlds introduction to Eric Carr. He dominates
Kiss invents power metal
no dude, power metal was already invented from Rainbow with songs like "Stargazer"(1976), "A Light In The Black"(1976) and "Kill The King"(1978)
@@metalhawk66 And don't forget some of the work from Judas Priest in the 70s.
All in all, we could probably follow it's roots back to the early Queen records.
@@Kongorlobo you are absolutely right! i would also add Riot with the song "Warrior" from their debut(Rock City) which was released in 1977!!
@@Kongorlobo absolutely. Queen in the first four albums made some hard songs! Prophets song, great king rat, liar etc
A votre service 🌹🔥🧡
Thank Satan, I can listen along with the lyrics. I could never figure what the hell Paul was singing.

great tune!!
Los grandes dioses del rock ***** k I s s *****
how cool would it be to see them pull this shit out live? id be surprised if they even remembered how to play anything from the elder
@basskiller42 hey man, as long as i made one person happy, im happy
*This* is what a paladin is.
I came here because of Arch Enemy, and because Kiss is the greatest!!
you made 2 people happy
bad ass awesome
Now If only instead of Unmasked they made an album with this type of sound maybe Ace wouldn't of left.
Ace left because of this album, not Unmasked.
ManOwaR got inspired by this song!
The most ass kickin' KISS song ever
i wish they played this live, but we not that's never gonna happen =(
They have played it on previous tours but unfortunately pauls voice was well and truly gone and it didn't sound that great I wish he would have sang it during the 80s and 90s when his voice was at his best
PAUL RULEZ KISS #STARCHILD FTW
While some seek one to lead us
Some are staring at me
I like the oath it has that sound like it could be in one of those Middle aged sounds.
I love " The Oath " ... my favorite song on the album and yes , now that I read the lyrics - it is Empowering . I just wonder ... Is " HollyWeird " ever going to make a movie out of The Elder ? It's Going to be Bigger than you EVER Imagined !!!
My favourite along with under the rose and just the boy
For all of Kiss's sappy love songs ballads, this song has deep lyrics. This song and god of thunder show that they're holding their end of the oath as servants of Satan.
kiss did play this twice. I think. 82 and 2012 or 2013
KISS played once and the tribute band with gene and paul played at the kruise
Nice font
4 here...
KI77 RULE7Z
This could be a Manowar song and I mean that as a compliment.
make that 3
The toughest words to understand in all of their songs... and quite clear a praise to the dark side. Tood bad..
Lol
@KiSSRuL3S THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID!!!
Lol sorry shouldn't have said that.
How old were you when you first heard this album?

I really want to like this song, but as someone mentioned, for all the cool parts, be there then comes some rather cheesey questionable ones. Lol
I used to be a Kiss fan I kind of stopped when Peter and Ace left and when they took of the make up. To me when Peter and Ace left and when they took off the make up of the magic Kiss once had died.
VV and Eric much better musicians than ace or Peter and ace was the most talented of the original line up
Kiss never dies no matter who is in the band
i really like this song and the song I but other than that no i dnt care for the rest
This song carried this awful album, good song
Wannabe Power Metal band.
