There is a serious problem in our policy formulation process. It seems Our policy makers pay less attention to the likely negative outcomes of policies and key stakeholders are not adequately consulted while formulating policies. Academia starting from the grassroot level was not in favour of no detection policy since its inception. Future of our nation depends upon our Education policy hence we should not use trial and error methods. Policy makers must adopt a pro-active and bottom up approach involving consultation with stakeholders from grassroot to top level. While implementing this no detention policy we compromised with the quality of education in schools. Govt have taken many positive steps in education like focus on Fundamental Literacy and Numeracy and play based education, digital learning. However , in the disguise of holistic education Political agenda and Govt schemes are also promoted in schools. And grassroot level teachers are hardly consulted.
