I remember waiting weeks for episode 9 to come out. Back then, as a kid, I never really cared for this episode. I thought it was too cheesy and glary, and I missed most of the content. Now, well now's different. I now get to appreciate the story better that I wish my younger self understood.
This was RUclips at its peak; back when content wasn't lazy, ripped off and made to last, not for a quick cash grab. I'm so glad to have witnessed it develop and bloom.

i love the detail of brian playing ski ball, hitting 100s while alone, and then when jenny walks over he sucks. It's a perfect display of what his character is all about~
The pressure of an audience and pedestalizing (false) idols is a general theme. Sure, objectively Jenny is an accomplished person and exceptional. But when it comes down to it she's just a normal highschool student attending school and can be as nerdy and geeky like anyone else. Likewise, Brian is a loser and can be mediocre like anyone else (especially highlighted in the cringe humor antics), but when it comes down to it he can be exceptional and stand heads and shoulders above the rest. They are perfect foils to each other.
In recent pop culture, Stranger Things' Nancy and Steve dynamic definitely echoes well this ostensibly stereotypical execution of opposites attract.

This show is deserving of hundreds of rewatches. I remember waiting for the last few episodes of season two and for season three to start. This show made it to my top 5 favorite shows.
Honestly - It's got its campy moments and all, but the joy in this show is just so palpable. Will always love these characters

Brian got expelled, then he went to work for a part time job or full time job depends really... But then he got the job as a boss for the arcade so now he just guests in 24 hours all in one day...

I love how this episode is basically the web series equivalent of Casablanca. Obviously the white tux and general sequence of events is a direct reference to Casablanca

Truly shows that big budget doesn't mean better, this is one of the best series I've seen.
Honestly they must have had a pretty big budget for this show. Not only with the crew, editing and effects but also all the extras they have to pay, getting to use these locations, the music, the sets and props, etc etc. Its a huge production
I mean the kickstarter for this show made over 200k so, make of that as you will

only for Ki to appear on screen, accompanied by an off *key* piano sting... if that was intentional... that was very clever.
You can tell a lot of love goes into the production of this series. I love coming back to VGHS every once in a while--it's a nice blend of surreal comedy, and light-hearted drama (except that one episode), that makes you root for the underdogs, and to want to be a part of all the fun!

Definitely more of a Grim Fandango reference than a Casablanca one. In Casablanca, Rick owns the cafe right from the start of the movie. In Grim Fandango, Manny starts out mopping, and one year later, he's the owner. No mop in Casablanca.

One of the greatest is a huge overstatement. It’s a good show Bc it’s backed by Rocket jumps hype during that time but a lot of scenes were poorly executed and an average viewer can still point out many movie sins for this show.

I have watched this series I don't even know how many times over the last 7 years and somehow this is the first time I've ever noticed that at 11:25 when ki pushes ted it makes the Gumbauk sound in reference to when brian said teds like the gumbauk, I feel so dumb right now hahaha. The attention to detail in this series is what makes me be able to watch it over and over and over again.

The way everyone behaves and everything is written is literally how children imagine the adult world to be like.
This is so close to a childs imagination and the beauty about all of it is that children are the biggest dreamers.
